I've been toying with the idea of a light black splash for Abrupt Decay and Toxic Deluge. I haven't implemented it yet, since I don't have the necessary cards online to test and haven't had much time to play paper lately. What I would do, however, is probably 1-2x Bayou, 1x Urborg, and 1x Bog main with 4x Verdant. I'd also run 1x basic Swamp somewhere in the 75, since the primary reason I'm interested in Abrupt Decay (vs Krosan Grip) is Magus of the Moon. Toxic Deluge would probably be a 2-3x in the board.

Mykatdied's mention of Deed is also very intriguing. Normally, I'd say it's way too slow and that you're better off with Ugin/Dust for that kind of mana. But it might be good enough to fight Eldrazi Stompy. It seems worth testing, for sure.

I've had mixed feelings about Bomb. In addition to Chalice, Bomb is also good at taking out Endless Ones in the matchup. But it's too slow for everything else. It's good enough that I'm going to continue testing with it online, but it hasn't impressed me enough to sleeve it up in paper yet.

Eldrazi is a very swingy matchup. If you can Needle their Wastelands under Chalice and buy some time with Maze, the odds improve dramatically. They run out of gas quickly, so surviving the early game is key. Krosan Grip should definitely come in, since they have other targets besides Chalice (Jitte, Needle, Lodestone Golem). I've also been very impressed with Silent Arbiter in this matchup (and beyond). One nice thing about this matchup is that, since they play 3-4 copies of Eye, you can often save a tutor and just copy theirs. Tabernacle is also surprisingly good against them, especially if they kept a land-light hand besides Ancient Tombs.

I tried TKS main, but I found I was most after sideboard cards (moon, null rod, cataclysms), and the lilliana, combo pieces, hate cards were most superficial wants.

My test group has been using SoI rules for repeal, and found the change not terrible.

I've been toying around a somewhat similar build, trying to incorporate the full SnT package. i'll be testing this 4sure. are you sure about repeal though? i'm also reluctant to drop ulamog, but i guess that's why you are running repeal? I'd also appreciate your reasoning behind swan song? how are you boarding against burn? if you'd expect lot's of burn and other red hate (blood moon etc.) would you brind BEB in the side?

Unfortunately I don't have time to play at the moment but for those of you playing online u should try retribution of the Meek, it is also great against miracles angels, tarmo etc...

On the other hand I found meekstone but I think it limits us too much and is vulnerable to chalice on 1.

I saw a match from ehhhhhh yesterday and he had a weird green 1/1, discard prevent damage card which won him the game vs eldrazi. Great game btw

It should have been dawnstrider: it will surely hold aggro eldrazi on its own, until opponent draws warping wail, dismember or ratchet bomb.

This is also the problem with silent arbiter. It dies to both warping wail and dismember as well. Also, a couple people are mentioning retribution of the meek but if I'm going to splash white I will just play Terminus.

I've been testing with ensnaring bridge in the board. It's pretty good when you land it as long as you can get rid of most of the other cards in your hand at the time. Once you are ready to take the offensive you just remove it with Ulamog and you are good to go. The biggest problem I've had is that I either don't see it (and can't dig for it with ancient stirrings due to chalice) or they eat it with thought-knot before I can play it.

I have been playing a g/r splashing kozilek's return and bonfire/red blasts in the SB but could also get behind a black splash. While true, I wouldn't expect to face these cards game 2. These aren't exactly great cards against a deck where the smallest creature is traditionally a 6/6. If they're main, I'd even expect them to come out.

Warping wail can counter sorcery too, so the opponent may leave/bring in G2 to fight S&T, terminus, bonfire or anything relevant you may have played.

In any case she will surely bring in warping wail and dismember in G3 if she sees you playing dawnstrider or silent arbitrer in G2, because even if those spells kill only a couple of creatures they need to interact with those creatures to win the game.

However I agree that dawnstrider is not much of a solution because it also dies to endbringer, which surely will be played against us.

Deed hitting needle was 1 huge issue that I had playing the deck. But I also ran deathrite to help a bit with casting spells and also natural order which made it easier to ramp going to get a titan. Decay was nice though vs early threats to help buy time.

I continue to be impressed with your list, and have also been running it with warping wail 4x. I've currently removed the thespian stage, and one forest. I've replaced them with oracle, which I really consider to be more of a flex slot. Probably something I would consider boarding out for Krosan grips.

It was a mono green list without tops right? I went back 6 pages but couldn't find it.

Why do some of u play the dark depths combo while others don't? With excess to crop, top, ancient and map we have a lot of outs to create a 20/20 flyer..

Personal preference. There's also only so many utility land slots, generally only the mono-green lists have enough room for it. Plus, the blue lists have access to Show and Tell which gives them a fast way to close out or advance the game. Since the mono-green lists don't have access to this, having the Dark Depths combo available is very useful. One other thing is with all the stuff I jam into my blue lists, I don't run many expedition maps and I've cut crop rotations so I don't actually have as much ability to tutor both pieces.

No. We don't use the graveyard, and since the opponent chooses what we get, this is never going to be useful. Ancient Stirrings does what we would need from this.

Agree on the blue version. Indeed you have less spots and maybe less need to play it but I think I saw several mono green lists playing none as well.

after a period of time with the ugw version, I'm now moving to simple ug, with heavy control/draw engine. I still love ugw version, but I think it's out of meta now. Here is a simple list:

-Kozilek vs Ulamog: with this list, I have a good cmc cover for Kozi's ability. I wanna try it: Ulamog's exiling ability should not be necessary with the help of FOW
-cyclonic rift: basically it replaces Ugin in a classical list. It's also blue, and can bounce a chalice of the void! :cool:
-trickbind: they replace needles.....they are blue, and they cover the cmc2 for kozilek (with rift)
-trinket mage: cmc3, blue, tutor, blocker. I was unsure if put another copy.....I will try.
-sideboard is not 100% sure, absolutely.

what do you think? I'm gonna test it next week probably.

Funny, I just put together the UGW version for this week based on your last list...coming off UG (although my last build of UG looks very different than your current one). I've been wanting to test Terminus for a while so I'm definitely going to stick to it for this week, knowing my luck I won't play any relevant matchups though.

I wanna try this ug list 'cause I'm sick of ant and burn in my meta. Basically g1 is lost if you don't find a swan song or emperion (and you don't have a lot of time). The ug list is slighty better also against bug, with card advantage you can recover from their discard tactic.
But compared to a classical ug list, I prefer ugw: you will have so easy games against miracle (also with mentor), elves, merfolk, sneak and show (3 pithing needles....... ), D&T, stoneblade, nic fit/scapeshift, jund and so on.
Another reason for which I want to change list, is Eldrazi. S&T into emperion is game. Terminus also. But if he starts with a chalice on first turn, you need to have a very good hand, otherwise you'll probably die trying to topdeck a S&T or terminus.

FYI I don't agree with cutting artifacts to 1 ofs because of Trinket Mage. Especially not Pithing Needle. I found trinket mage pretty lackluster when I used to run him.

As far as Dark Depths, I've honestly never tested with it. I know some people here really like it. For me, I don't think it merits a slot in my build. The combo requires two tutors to find, uses two land drops, and you lose both lands. Yes, you can steal some games. But Marit Lage seems too fragile in a format with Karakas, StP, and ample ways to answer her. And while it shouldn't be that difficult to "hardcast" her, for 30 mana I'd rather just find Eye to tutor and cast Emrakul.
