*As far as the mana base for the potential White splash: Well, this is one reason I'd like to test this version of the deck. Obviously we make ourselves more vulnerable to Wasteland, Back to Basics, and Blood Moon by splashing a color. However, these cards are definitely around in the meta-game, but it's not like they're everywhere from what I've seen so far. Not all decks pack mana disruption, and it's not like we're already impervious to it. Granted, we're safe from color screw with the Mono-Blue list, but having someone Waste a Mutavault (or even worse, one of our tapped Wastelands-- they do make mana after all, and sometimes we need it) already hurts. And hey, that's why we slip in a copy of basic Plains, plus the requisite fetchies
I'd actually say that Stifle now rivals Wasteland in effectiveness of killing lands. And is used very widely. Pair this with Wasteland, Dust Bowl, B2B, and other decks that are specifically designed to screw over people running non-basics. Well you can do it if you want, again no one is forcing you to play anything. I'm just saying I've tried white splash, and even though I went 5-0 with it (the people at that tournament sucked) I still know that it isn't as effective as mono U.

I looked on DeckCheck though, and the dude that got first place with the UW list I posted the link to played against a Top 8 where three other decks besides his were packing Wasteland. So I don't get the impression that winning is undoable for someone using the White splash, even facing mana disruption.
I dare 1 person to suggest that winning is undoable with any deck, even 60 basic lands. That person would be an idiot. The discussion here is to what is

If wasting forum space really offends you that much, why don't you just PM all further criticisms of me and what I say and do to me, instead of eating up our precious, limited virtual cyberspace? Or you could even be a real nice guy and post a link to the MWS forum, so I can stop harassing folks for help...
Because the horrible thing about the internet is that the idiot who posts all the time (this is an analogy, if you feel like I'm talking about you then you're putting those words in my mouth) will be read more than the person who posts little and knows what he's talking about.
