Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Got some Enchantress games today (GW helm).
1st Round (vs BR Reanimator)
Post board games is my chance against the deck, I don't remember the details that went into game 2. But game 3 I remembered I got a Leyline of Sanctity out, followed by a turn 2 trinisphere. After a few turns, I landed RIP and he decided to scoop. Im surprised, I was under the impression the deck runs Reverent Silence.
2-1
Standing 1-0
2nd Round (vs MUD)
1st game was a quick solid defense on my part backed up by alot of protection. Game 2, I decided to bring in Blood Moons which actually backfired on me as I could not find any sources of mana. Game 3 I took out the bloodmoons after they back fired on me on game 2. In this game, he was spending a bit of resources focusing on stopping my helm combo, and I end up winning with Emrakul instead.
2-1
Standing 2-0
3rd Round (vs MUD)
Turn 1 Trinisphere, followed by a lodestone golem, into an eventual Forgemaster > Blightsteel colossus finished me off before I can really even do anything. Game 2... I mulled when i drew a bunch of green cards, 1 serras sanctum, and emrakul. Mulled to 6, and got emrakul again a bunch of ramp, but no enchantresses... Mulled to 5... I got emrakul again, 1 land, 1 ramp, 1 Argothian enchantress, and a Sylvan Library. a turn 2 trinisphere finished off any hopes I got, he got a lodestone golem, and he Spine of Ish Sah my only land with a growth on it. What a bad game for me...
0-2
Standing 2-1
4th Round (vs Affinity)
Wow playing against that deck brings back memories. Game 1, he had a really fast clock but turn 3 Confinement, got me there. Game 2, he had Ethersworn Canonist, and his field has a lot of non threatening creatures, a bunch of low cost low power dudes and no plating in play. Despite being able to to cast 1 spell at a time, I eventally manged to assemble my confinement lock.
2-0
Standing 3-1
5th Round (vs Death and Taxes)
Opponent had thalia and vial stuff going on. But Rishadan port was no where in sight. She didnt really do much on hindering my mana as I was just ramping up, eventually won with helm combo. Game 2, he had Thalia and stone forge and vial, again no rishadan around, eventually allows me to hit a critical mass and hard cast emrakul.
2-0
Standing 4-1
I cant really stay anymore, as I have to go to work early in the morning, I had some nice frendly conversation with my DnT opponent, and before I packed up. I told him to report that he got 2-0 instead as I am leaving anyways. Played with a bunch of nice and friendly people, hope to play with them again.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Courser of Kruphix is the thing drawing my attention most there, I've considered it but have been generally too lazy to try it out yet.
If it'd be more like Oracle of Mul Daya/Exploration, I'd definitely have autoincluded it already.
Still, removing all those bad land topdecks and digging 1 deeper might be worth it... makes the actual card Exploration better, which I usually cut from my builds because it only starts having an impact once you're already drawing a lot meaning you're already in a good spot anyway. Courser looks like it would be better getting you out of spots that are less good.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
How are you guys coping with the recent surge of Leotard decks? Loading up on Banishing Light? SB Humility? Words of War? Some other tech? Table flipping?
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Playing a deck that isn't a pile of shit

LMAO!
Normally I play RUG Lands (occasionally RGCL), but I do miss Enchantress. I haven't played Enchantress since 2013, and even then I struggled with it.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Also currently not taking Enchantres to tourneys, until I notice the amount of Bug decks goes down a bit again in my local metas at least.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Although I'll be looking into builds like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2QHRYVaHyo
to see if running 4 RIP + 3 Helm makes us both resilient to DRS + Goyf + Decay decks, and to Leovold/draw hate in general, by needing less card draw than when trying to kill with Doomwake or Emrakul or a single Helm. And cuz In the Eye of Chaos seems sweet
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Like all these smart gentlemen, I'm not really playing Enchantress right now. BUG was unpleasant for us before Leo, and I assume it's even worse now. That said, I did add a few extra O-Rings to my main, and will probably be siding in Leyline of Sanctity to avoid getting shredded by Liliana, Hymn, Thoughtseize and friends.

I beat Leovold by playing a little slower, and hiding behind Grass. Eventually I resolved Banishing Light when I had enough mana to chain afterwards, I also assembled a couple of must counters like City. They don't get the draw when light is on the stack obviously, so they draw when you target him, but nobody is Stifling things these days. Leo backed up with a quicker clock is a problem obviously.

I still play enchantress, and I wont be dropping it any time soon. I just made some tweaks based on how my metagame is turning out, where elephant grass doesnt really do much. My main deck consist of having 1 Banishing Light / 4 Journey to Nowhere / 1 Enlightened Tutor. Sideboard contains humility as well, however, just a 1-off. Creature not really bothering me. Deck has so much library manipulation, tutors, and card draw to find us what we need.
With the heavy presence of abrupt decays and Shamans and discards, as well as counter magic in my meta. I heavily favor the traditional GW Replenish build. With Ground Seal over RIP, due to surgical.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
What do you think of a heavier Helm combo package postboard in matchups where you cant really count on the draw engine (mainly BUG) or really need to combo out fast after slowing down the opponent (e.g. Storm).
I want to try a combo package of:
MB: 3x RIP, 1x Helm, 1x Enl. Tutor, 2x Grove
SB: 1x RIP, 1x Helm, 1x Enl. Tutor
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Played Legacy last night in an FNM. Did pretty bad, went 2-2. The games I lost was versus BUG delver and Aluren.
Lost to BUG Delver 0-2, opponent has so much removal in the form of Golgari Charm, Abrupt Decay, Thoughtseize, I think hes also running Surgical.
Aluren wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I lost game 1 as he won the die roll, and he comboed out while i was about to drop solitary confinement turn 3 with 1 argothian in play, and Presence in hand, and tons of ramp effect in hand. Game 2, opponent scooped as if he lost interest when I went turn 0 leyline turn 2 trinisphere. game 3 I had Leyline of Sanctity going as well as Argothian, but he dropped leovold, and he had two abrupt decays for my Banishing Light and Journey to Nowhere. I think this is a combo match up that I am not too worried about, he just had some crazy draws.

I dont think its needed, but thats just my own personal view on it. Just run more card draw or filtering, and maybe add a replenish in the SB for the matches when youre facing some heavy removal.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Have you guys ever thought of The Abyss as a 1off since it can't target our Enchantresses?

It'd also mean you can't profitably play Doomwake Giant nor Emrakul I think? Leaving you with a pure Rip-Helm build (meaning black would only be splashed for the Abyss. Not sure if that's worth losing both Giant and/or Emmy?)
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Oh I totally forgot Emrakul...
Maybe a Helm/RIP+Sigil list feat. The Abyss could be valid?
Dropping a T3 Abyss vs DnT or any creature based deck should end the game. But Giant probably does so, too...
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Giant also deals with an active Mom (and TNN), which would completely stop Abyss cold in its tracks ;) (it targets)
It doesn't die to STP but I think that doesn't overcome the other disadvantages. If afraid of Stp, Sterling Grove is a better solution.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Thanks, I'm convinced now. Better save those 250 bucks. :-D
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Congrats to Autumn for getting 15th in the most recent legacy classic http://sales.starcitygames.com//deck...?DeckID=111820.
I've tried a lot of things before but I've never put Doomwake and Energy Field in the same deck. I'll probably try a slight variation on the build soon. I like maybe -1 Choke, -1 Solitary, +2 Green Sun's Zenith.
I played in the main event in Baltimore but did pretty poorly and we only even made it live to R7 on the back of our modern player who was on a bit of a tear for awhile.
On Sunday I didn't have the energy for the full Classic but I did jam a modern and legacy challenge going 3-0 to split both times. I can't say I learned all that much, other than just to echo everyone's sentiment that Leovold is bananas and I have no idea if we can ever really fight it properly. During a game 1 of the open where I managed to banishing light one and they immediately drop another next turn felt crushing.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
I lost to Autumn in Round 4. I was at 15 Trillion life in game 1 and she had a confinement lock on that I couldn't break. Also didn't have much in my SB to help either. It was the most fun match of the day though.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Im actually trying out a heavier splash of red and a light splash of white (just for Confinement/O-Rings). I'm trying out Seal of Fire(s) again, and main decked blood moon(s). As i noticed, everyone has gotten so greedy with their mana base that a Turn 2 Blood Moon just destroys a lot of decks game 1.
