I just scour local store websites and fb groups. I live in the N.E. so finding a legacy event is relatively easy most weekends. Not to mention i play legacy twice a week at two different stores with some of the most entrenched players around ,so i hear about stuff from other players as well.Quote:

The list was on point Had i known my exact match ups prior to the tournament I could've had better cards in the board but i really think the board over all is solid . Just realized i've top 8d 3 of the 4 last events i've played with the deck. Not bad at all.

g1 my opponent goes taiga gamble, i make chalice and some creatures. he wastes my karakas and i have to draw an out to the token. i draw copter and use it to chump - the loot gets me to displacer, then i find city of traitors in my draw step to have enough mana to cast the displacer and blink the token
i board in my RIPs and a STP for my priest, a smasher and the warping wail
g2 i have chalice again and land a timely RIP. my opponent finds double maze but i waste one and its enough.
we talk after the game and think i should probably have brought in faeries too. idk?

g1 i mull to try to find some early plays and have an ok hand. i TKS a NO and feel relatively ok but my opponent has two symbiotes so starts drawing multiple cards a turn despite my thalia2. i figure i just need to try to end it quickly so play a smasher to set up lethal but he untaps and draws some cards and makes behemoth.
i board in the holy lights and the 2nd containment priest.
g2 i make t1 jitte, t2 thalia2, t3 equip and swing. he tries to stabilise with quirion/dryad but i have the holy light.
g3 i get to priest the first NO but i do not draw jitte, a ballista or a holy light so he gets to build up a board and start doing stuff through my thalia2. eventually he makes a big behemoth!
i do not draw chalice in any of these games, and i feel like the matchup is probably fine if you actually draw removal, but such is life!

i board in... jailer and 1 disenchant (hedge for blood moon) for i think wail and priest
g2 i have chalice again but my opponent has multiple lilianas which keep me from being able to develop my board effectively, although i do eventually get him pretty low but we are both effectively in topdeck mode. he plays a giant goyf which would kill me in 2 turns but i topdeck ballista and have a million mana

g1 i chalice and play thalia2. he gets a batterskull but i blink the germ and he doesn't get a TNN until too late.
i board in the disenchants and the holy lights, but notably board out my jailer. we talk after the game and my opponent thinks i should've actually boarded IN jailer because he says the card is very good against him. my reasoning was that TNN makes it very easy for him to become the monarch but maybe he was right.
g2 i can't really deal with a batterskull this game and it just sort of goes the distance, though thalia2 buys me a lot of time somehow.
g3 i get chalice but am slightly constrained due to no sol-lands - so i'm a bit slow. he makes a TNN pretty early and i never draw holy light, so once he gets jitte going on it i'm kinda in trouble. i tried to go aggressive earlier on but he flashes in a snapcaster to trade with my smasher (+TNN) and then has the counterspell for my disenchant on his jitte.

Obviously not a great performance but I really enjoyed playing the format again! I probably have a lot to learn about boarding and also what sort of strategy I want to try to execute with the deck. I think I'll play it again next time with a few changes. You can see I played a bunch of 1-ofs to see what cards were like and I think I've formed some ideas just from those 10 games about how I want to use those slots. I think for next time I will go:

And perhaps also try turning one of the wastelands or plains into a second City of Traitors. I was thinking about Copter after the tournament and it made me wonder if perhaps there could be a version of the deck that runs Fleetwheel Cruiser. It feels like the potential is there to end games very quickly and it can be crewed by Thalia (who is sometimes slightly outclassed in combat) and Jailer.
edit: People seemed very interested in the deck and seemed to think it was quite well-positioned right now too. Apparently someone top4'd the last big CFB legacy event playing a similar deck so people are aware of it in the area now. Apparently that player was running Caves of Koilos and had Toxic Deluge as well as a Stoneforge Mystic package. Not sure if s/he posts in this thread!
Played at The Bearded Dragon this weekend to an embarrassing 1-3 drop.. Play mistakes and bad draws...Just not my day.
This list is still fire. You can't win em all and whatever . One thing i noticed at this event was ALOT of Stoneforge decks (Stoneblade,Deathblade,Maverick),and ALOT of b/r Reanimator . It was a small event ( about 40 people) and i saw 4 b/r decks ,so i think my my list is pretty well setup to deal with those decks .

This deck is awesome! I'm loving the discussion. I'm in the process of dusting off my Thalia's, tearing apart my old Eldrazi deck and slapping this together. I recently noticed Donovan Maloney piloted it to a 3rd place finish at the 86 man Channel Fireball 2.5k Legacy event. I'm loving his list. He's running the SFM package with a splash of black for Toxic Deluge. My list so far is almost identical but I'm not convinced Deluge is necessary. I'm also considering cutting the Mox Diamonds for Lotus Petals. Thoughts regarding that??

[EDIT]: Has anyone considered a lone (nails in the coffin) Armageddon with a couple Flagstones of Trokair to back it up?? Or even a lone Winter Orb bomb to seal the deal. It already synergizes nicely with both Thalia's and Sol Lands.

Great to have you in the thread! Yeah the deck is tits, super fun and super powerful . I saw you're friends list . It looked pretty similar to some list i used to play for a minute. The deck has evolved a little since "that style" has been prominent .The deck is obviously still playable and very good with the Stoneforge package. For me it just feels like it makes the deck a tiny bit clunkier and isn't REALLY needed.
On Lotus Petal: Having to discard a land is HUGE .If you're empty handed and draw a Mox Its like you didn't draw anything .
Playing Mox makes a lot of 2 land hands unkeepable and in a lot of those same situations Lotus Petal can make it a snap keep.
Playing 4 petals gives you a higher chance of turn one Chalice/Thalia/Displacer. I've had hands with 3 petal, sol land, sol land, Smasher,TKS....You can't have those starts with Mox.
One other point is that Your access to white mana isn't really affected as much as you'd think because you're playing 4 lotus petals as opposed to 3 Mox, also theres a non zero chance that the land you pitch will be a white source .
Lastly when people talk about dead draws understand that there are times when drawing a Mox is a literal dead draw and a Lotus Petal is not. If you need mana and draw a Mox you're fucked, not true with Petal.
Its just better in this deck because we get to play enough white sources that the color fixing isn't 100% of its job, sometimes it just gives you busted starts.
ON Armageddon and Winter orb : They're both awesome when "it works" but have the potential to backfire .
Some things I've been thinking about lately is going back to 2 Jitte and 1 Hero of Bladehold in place of the one Palace Jailer. My thinking is that if i'm running 2 Containment Priest main i don't need the extra removal and would rather have another "must answer" threat.
I've also toyed with trying s side board like this ,geared toward beating Stoneblade and B/R Reanimator. While still keeping my others match ups in mind.

Awesome! Thanks for the response and valuable input! Yeah, the more I goldfish with this deck the more I love it. Since I'm just starting to play this I'm gonna keep my SFM suite in it for now and see how it feels. I'll probably switch over to Palace Jailer and Hero etc.. after I get a better feel. I'm really not a fan of the double white in their casting costs though. Either way this decks seems much more versatile and resilient than traditional Eldrazi. Is that the general consensus? Why would anyone play boring old traditional linear Eldrazi when you can play this. You still get broken ass first turns but you get a more resilient late game, plus all kind of tricks with Displacer. Also the disruption via mana denial is heavier especially with a turn one Cathar which is nuts against Delver variants and really anything running fetchlands. This deck is riot and no doubt upper tier if not tier one. I have a feeling it will be getting a lot more play in the future.
I really want to toy with a lone Winter Orb. Plopping it down with either of the Thalia's in play (especially Cathar) is brutal for your opponent and really anytime you happen to be slightly ahead in tempo it should just be gg. I'm not sure if its just "win more" or not though.
Speaking of tempo and mana denial, Leonin Arbitor appears to effectively stamp out opponents fetchlands giving us a huge advantage early game. With the exception of D&T and Lands most decks pack between 6 and 8. Has anyone tested him?
Anyway, the following switches to my original list will probably be -1 Revoker -3 Mox Diamond and +4 Lotus Petal. Based on your input and the limited play I've had with the deck I'm rarely disappointed when I draw a Petal but often annoyed when I draw a Diamond.
I also might give Blade Splicer a try. I love the interaction with Displacer. Anyway, I'll be playing it later against BUG Delver and BR Reanimator.
I have a few thoughts I wanted to discuss but they're kinda all over the place so I'm just gonna throw them out there:
I really want to know what people think of the spoiled Ixalan card Sorcerous Spyglass. There's no doubt in MY mind it's going to warp almost every chalice deck in the format. I know for sure it's at the very least a 2-of in the sideboard. Thoughts??
Blade Splicer is looking more attractive since there's a ton of mid-range fair decks that want to trade 1-1.
I'm not onboard with a 4-of walking ballista. I've playtested it as a 2-of, and always wanted a sfm, or a smasher, or a jailer, or any of those. It usually acted as a warping wail shooting down a delver or some other small creature. When I was able to pump it, I was usually taking too much damage via tomb to get too aggressive.
A card which I had previously overlooked and has been very good in testing: Mirror Entity. It's uncounterable with cavern on eldrazi or human, cmc is 2W, and is a terrific mid-game mana sink to get over your opponent.

@contra. I think the list looks good . its al about play style .Mirror Entity is interesting,I've never thought about it before but with blade splicer it actually makes a lot of sense.
Ballista as a 4 of makes it WAY better than a 2 or 3 of because with 2 in your opener you can cast the first one to kill a delver and then wait to cast the 2nd one on 3 . We're just so good against unfair decks that playing it as a 4 main deck really does solidify creature match ups . It makes the deck feel more balanced to me. I think if it works for you then its good.
I'm glad you mentioned Spyglass, there is no doubt it's going to be a strong addition to the stompy arsenal. Get your set, it's my opinion that it's going to see play for quite some time.

My current list for reference and discussion . So i really wanna play Endbringer because #1 we can #2 its the shit. The last time i ran him i was running 24 land and thought he was a bit much but with 25 land that could be the ticket, especially if i cut a white source for a third City.
EDIT. So after playing the deck at a few events ( 3-1ing each of them ) i feel like i'm gunna cut the 2 Endbringers for 1 Palace Jailer and 1 Smugglers Copter. . i'm also gunna run 1 Endbringer in the board in place of the Warping Wail and going back to 5 plains and 2 City of Traitors.

Honestly if I were running scrublands and caves of koilos this is about what my sideboard would look like. The leylines are nice when you can easily hardcast them. The rest in peace seems redundant, but I can see bringing them in over leylines for shamans goyfs veteran explorers and storm.
If I were to splash black I'd be running some number of bearer of silence, wasteland strangler, and orzhov pontiffs. With the amount of testing I've had with it though it doesn't seem as strong as mono-white and the mana base is balls.

Lots of proven stuff, maindeck flexspot is p.metamorph, side flex is mangara.
Highlights:
Cavern on Artificer for SfM and Splicer
Opponent cast Angler, i copy it with metamorph
UW hides behind moat i wait until i get Cavern on construct and 12(!) mana (thx sollands) to instantly get his 6 life down and passing a counterwall.
I still think this deck is clearly underrated...

Compared to Soldier Stompy this deck can also play SfM! We discussed it over the pages, SfM means a less aggressiv playstyle but you gain more options to fight midrange/grindy matchups. BSkull/Jitte/SoFaI are all proven and can swing various situations - and Soldier Stompy normally dont use this stuff cause SfM is not a Soldier and most builds tend to have SField too.
I played both decks and while Soldiers are very funny, Thalia Stompy is clearly stronger, you have a lot of more interaction and stronger single Cards (every Eldrazi). On top you have a better Combo Matchup, because you not only play Thalia+Chalice, you also have playsets of Wasteland and TKS maindeck! I am sure Soldiers can cause trouble for Eldrazi&Taxes but i see no common matchups that will favour Soldiers over this Eldrazi/Taxes Stompy mix.
