The standard builds since the introduction of TNN have removed Mangara to return to the old fashion Serra avengers and upped the number of flyers (Flickerwisp / Avenger / aven mindcensor over Mangara and crusader).
Revoker MD as usual on whatever it could equip will help to race it (Especially if we are talking about Jitte).

D&T is perfectly capable of racing this card with efficient beaters and equipment that gives life. Also, stopping your opponent from reaching 3 mana is fully possible with waste/port and plowing DRS etc while you drop dorks via Vial. The "standard" build should be always be the one that is best tweaked to the meta. Wing Shards or any other of the numerous non-targeting white removal spells seem like decent options against TNN.
THe WW sacrifice on attacking / defending creatures (celstial flare) is also a good candidate. A little bit narrow, but it works!

Hey, flutterstorm is not a bonkers chase card :)
Scavenging ooze was the closest thing to a bonkers card in the first commanders packs. TNN is over the top :)

How do you figure? It seems like control decks would love to face TNN decks without many creatures. Supreme Verdict, terminus, explosives, plague, golgari charm, wing shards, REB, daze, counterspell, clique, zealous persecution and force of will ALL answer this card, and are all standard cards found in control decks.
If anything, maindecking two or three three-drops SLOWS down the format, which in turn is very good for control decks who need the extra turns to stabilize.
Also, I had 2 TNN maindeck and 1 in the sideboard against D&T at the Legacy Plus side event and my D&T opponent had no problem winning 2-0.
Re: [SCD] True-Name Nemesis
Gotta say, watching some of that GP DC coverage with TNN mirrors... ugly stuff. Very uninteractive and it boiled down to "can I find my 1 narrow-ass answer to TNN in my deck before it kills me".

They probably made a mistake an it was supposed to be blue, same with deathrite shaman. I mean blue got the best efficient beater in delver (a green thing), best protection guy (white thing), and dude with flashback ability (who should have been red). I fully expect a 1U 2/1 guy with necropotence attached in the next commander set.

Sadly there's room for argument there T_T;;
Gush, the Morph gush guy, the creatures that tap to draw cards, standstill, all the "deal damage to draw cards!" creatures/enchantments..

That would be too bannable. It'll be a colorshifted bob with flying [edit:] and shroud.
Re: [SCD] True-Name Nemesis
Stop bitching about TNN being Blue. The problem with the card isn't its color, it's that it promotes non-interaction. The fact that colors like Red and Black are underpowered and should have better creatures printed for them is a different issue.
Re: [SCD] True-Name Nemesis
Playing against this guy and with this guy the past few days has just reinforced the notion that TNN brings nothing positive to the format at all.
All it does is give certain decks an immutable 7 turn clock that can't be interacted with. Magic is a game of interactions. TNN isn't necessarily *broken*, but it simply makes every game in which it appears less fun and less interactive than it otherwise could be.
Isn't this what Mark Rosewater and the design team keep telling us? Isn't this the reason for creature power creep in the first place? According to MaRo's statements on the subject, increasing use of creatures lead to interaction during the combat phase which leads to fun for their target market segment (the casual to semi-competitive player).
Well guess what, MaRo and Co? Printing a funtionally uninteractive creature like TNN is completely counter to that philosophy. When he resolves, the game becomes nothing more than a goldfish race *or* a desperate search for narrow (likely only sideboarded) hate cards.
Atrocious printing. And made even worse by the fact that a 3/1 creature is not inherently as broken as a combo enabler would be and will likely stick in this format indefinitely and not be banned as it should be.
I mean, the Snapcaster Mage and Mental Misstep printings look like shining examples of genius design compared to this garbage.

By implying it is not interactive, I hope you didn't mean "non-consensual".

Also now i really want this in next commander set:
Raging Red Mage R
Creature - Raging Red Mage
Sacrifice Raging Red Mage: destroy all blue creatures.
"Why the hell do blue have the best creatures too fuck this stupid game" - Last words of a red mage before exploding with anger.

Otoh, i've really wanted this kind of effect for black:
Phyrexian Reprocessing B
Sorcery
Each player sacrifice a creature, lose 1 life, then draw a card.
Re: [SCD] True-Name Nemesis
Would it really have been that much worse if it had hexproof and unblockable against the named player? That way it did all the things they want it to do without being impossible to kill too.

Here's what Kai Budde had to say about that matchup with sam black and owen turtenwald:

Kai Budde
@TheZvi @armlx saw the sam/owen match? owen t3 one, sam has his t3, owen has another t4. massive interaction, great game to watch ... not.
