If you're going to emphasize Replenish without being an outright Replenish combo deck, you want to run a lot of Grass, Confinements, and Cast Outs, knowing you can burn through them while setting up for the big Replenish. I also think you definitely want Doomwake Giant because it can be sick with Replenish but is still good on its own, and Gaea's Touch works well with both of them. But in practice I've still felt slow and my actual threat count seems insufficient, I often find myself missing the versatility and power of Living Wish.

Why no rip+ Helm main deck?

Anybody feel like Enchantress might be a decent deck depending how the meta stays? Watched a friend 5-0 a league last night.
2-1 Sneak and Show
2-1 UW Stoneblade
2-1 Sneak and Show
2-0 Turbo Depths
2-1 Burn
Fewer Leovolds is a great thing and there are a few maindeck cards that really give you a chance against most things. I also looked at the top 32 from the challenge and the only really bad match up off the top of my head was Storm. I also think there's a lot of variation for the deck which is a pretty advantage along with having multiple win conditions from every angle. I'll post what list he was using when I get it but I know he used Words of War, RiP+Helm, and Emrakul to win games. Only thing that didn't really see play was Sigil of the Empty Throne.

Well so far it looks like Reanimator Summer hasn't happened, and less Leovold is definitely a good thing. Could be an exciting time for the deck.

There are a bunch of variants which are seeing play:

a) RIP\Helm focused
b) Red Spalsh Words of War
c) Black Splash Doomwake no living wish
d) Living wish version

I play c and was about 5 cards off what 16Km played maindeck, but I have seen other versions do well. Hopefully with Deathrite out, less Leovold and the only combo I really concern myself with is storm.

Always like someone good playing the deck, it gives it a little more credibility. It's also interesting he played it much better as the matches went on.

Why did he play Wickerbough Elder? Maybe somebody can explain it.

For a while that spot was Qasali Pridemage, but the mana curve made it a little redundant. The advantage of Elder is that the deck is very good at generating mana, so if you have the 2 extra mana you can get a sizable body out of it.

He said that the Exploration and Runed Halo felt useless and he'd replace them with something else likely another Helm and RiP. Also with GSZ he wanted Dryad Arbor and would also want a main deck Karakas. So -1 Forest and -1 Savannah for those two lands.

I've been playing a lot in an effort to not let my team down during SCG Philly but I've had an awful run on MTGO


I've played two lists, the first one (3 leagues) was a very traditional GW list with Helm in the sideboard, the second (3 more leagues) was a more off the wall thing I had been trying with Solemnity and various cards that go well with it like Phyrexian Unlife, Delaying Shield, and Dark Depths.

In 6 leagues I played against:

UR Delver x2 (4-1)
Sneak and Show | Eureka-tell x2 (2-3)

Which feels pretty much exactly what I would expect, losing to combo, doing good in the "fair" matches, and probably not enough games versus certain decks to draw good conclusions (like D&T). Shout outs to the academy rector combo for being the wildest deck. It's good to not see so much Leovold and DRS being gone is a huge boon, but I feel like I'm not actually gaining any ground.
