They could just not play nonland permanents for a while.

Isn't that tantamount to losing for most decks?

Yeah definitely. If you draw this late(r) game and just have extra mana lying around. No reason to not delay an opponent's threat for even more than a turn if you have the chance too. It makes it scale a lot better as the game goes out too because of this utility.

It sounds like a chapter from the Hobbit.

I like the name.
Personally, I get a little fed up with their default template for every creature ever. The first word describes either their temperament or title; the second word is either their vocation or species. Sometimes it's just a bit like MadLibs: The Gathering.

Heck yeah it does! Hopefully it will be easy to acquire in sets, for I should like to put it in my Kithkin deck for this very reason. Well that, and it deals with lots of things and shit.

Flavor in Magic has gotten bad!

Ah great, now I want a card called Well-Worded War-Riders.

It already has Jace for that nice synergy. And it is a slow control deck with a combo finish. You can protect your piece with this, and then grab it again fast with Top if needed. It even has nice interaction with Counterbalance in a pinch. UA would be firing on all cylinders in a deck of that sort.
Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
I completely agree with you, but that being said, Miracles has better answers to creature based permanents. I think the only place that I want this is versus a Enchantment or Planeswalker, where Oblivion Ring or Detention Sphere already fills a good role, while being easier to cast and a better Counterbalance target. Maybe in the side versus grindier Control decks, but that's about it (and I really really really really want to believe!)
Could see play in the UWR Geist decks, as an alternate Submerge effect.
Re: [SCD] Unexpectedly Absent
I'd play a Mindless Miner. (if it isn't already a thing)
Mindless Miner RR
Creature - Donkey Assassin
2R, Tap: Destroy target land an opponent controls at random. If that land is nonbasic, snow, or burning, destroy another target land at random and sacrifice Mindless Miner.

Bah, people would just start to sideboard sets of Ivory Leprechauns and completely laugh at the Miners.

Re: [SCD] Unexpectedly Absent
So whatever happened with this card?
It seems really good and yet no decks play it, not even decks that feature Isochron Scepter like Quinn.
I would think it would be an autoinclude in Scepter decks because if your opponent doesn't have an answer to it in their current hand, then they lose to a Scepter lock completely.
Re: [SCD] Unexpectedly Absent
I've seen a select few Miracles decks run it, but that's about it.

Who want to play a WW removal that don't work against TNN? No one dude.

A deck that can almost ignore TNN and is mostly concerned with non-creature non-land permanents.

Might be interesting when that PoS fishstick leaves the format.

Agree. Testing out Stax and it can be really hard to get to WW at times. And the deck already has quite a few WW spells already in Humility and Elspeth, so can't really add another one.
