Do those commander lands come in foil..?

Yeah it's a shame that all of those new basics are unplayable because of the new boarder... Kaladesh has cool art as well

Re: Commander 2016 Spoiler Thread
They can Wrath in response to the equip trigger, making the whole ordeal pointless.
Not worthy, imho.
Edit: Not sure into which shell she would fit into:
Akiri, Rope Thrower :r::w:
Legendary Creature - Kor Soldier Ally
First strike, vigilance
Akiri, Rope Thrower has +1/+0 for each artifact you control.
Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.)
0/3
In an artifact-heavy deck (Affinity? color-wise, probably more Painter), she has a built-in Plating and the combination of First Strike, Vigilance + high power makes her a pretty dominant ground creature.

unplayable but another very consistent monoU combo

Mostly just joking but if the EDH banlist is anything to go by it's mostly the troublesome cards themselves e.g. prime time, Sylvan Primordial, etc that get banned but this card seems like it's really busted with any enabler.

I see! My mistake, thought he meant it would replace it.
Yeah, these two together seems pretty silly.

And God help them if you play Panharmonicon on 4, Skate on 5, Navigator on 6.

:) First MTG Gay Couple? (See Guardians of Meletis)
Edit: also I feel out of the 3 4 color commanders we got, the couple are the worst designed - I don't see what's Red about them?

I don't think this is playable (6 mana is still a lot), but has there been a draw-7 that worked out of the graveyard at Instant Speed before?

Yeah, it would definitely have been playable at 3R. 5R is a bit more challenging.

Oh, and don't forget the powerful removal spell Parting Thoughts. 2B for sorcery-speed Murder + card draw, at the cost of life. Seems really quite potent.

3 mana for removal is way above scale in legacy, and using it as a 'combo' with something like Roc Hatchling opens you up to 2-for-1 against instant speed stuff.

Re: Commander 2016 Spoiler Thread
A lot of the Innistrad and Innistrad-related flavour text is so godawful. The setting would be splendid for something poetic-feeling. But it's like they insist on the bluntest, most banal, ill-fitting statements they can manage.

If you look at all the words printed in the text box and try to apply colors to them, you are right that nothing falls into the Red portion of the color pie. If instead you look at all the words in the text box and conclude that he is 'group hug' then :r: makes a little more sense as part of his casting cost.

Nah, card only does something if you hit a creature with counters. Way too situational to justify running Dark Banishing.

This idiot allows your opponent to draw a card as well. Ditto The Greek Lovers up there. I mean, I guess Wizards realized that making things Legacy playable made Commander sets sell in strange proportions.

What do you mean? These guys are great if you're not the one with them in play. Exactly what I want out of my opponent's decks.

6 mana is a lot, but possible with 3 good accelerant spells. The fact that the opponent also draws 7 is a major downside when storm decks often use discard-style disruption.

1 led and 1 ritual and you're good to go, the best question to ask is if ad nauseam isnt just a better draw spell.

Funny how this image shows the flavour text spelled correctly, but the one on mtgsalvation speaks of 'it's horns'.

The Upside is that the dragon effect is uncounterable. The downside is its actually useless without LED. Maybe a sort of RB storm deck that plays faithless looting? More PIFs? I could see a fun budget BR storm deck existing

Re: Commander 2016 Spoiler Thread
Yeah - both creatures ETB same time, so it's effect won't trigger since it wasn't on the battlefield as the S&T creature enters.

Creatures that enter simultaneously 'see each other enter', so it would create a copy. I'm not sure that's such a great way to deal with S&T though.

If akiri was modern legal I'd ha e immediate use for it. Legacy it seems weak and not a good replacement for ravager or vault but you can't deny the power of galvantic or shrapnel in a list that just wants to use artifacts as resources and not so much the source of damage.

Dragon effect also subject to graveyard hate. If there's ever a legacy Pyromancer Ascension deck, it might be a component.

New card of interest:
Manifold Insights :2: :u:
Sorcery
Reveal the top ten cards of your library. Starting with the next opponent in turn order, each opponent chooses a different nonland card from among them. Put the chosen cards into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

How is this a card of interest in legacy? You reveal the top 10 cards and get 1 (one!) card of an opponent's choice, meaning you probably won't get anything you actually need.
