Do you guys have Mox tournaments every week? Holy fuck. Nice job!

Congrats on taking it down and getting the mox. I tried to make it out to test my new build, but other things came up.
I look forward to another report. Do you mind giving some sideboarding advice? That's always been the biggest weakness in my game, and I'd appreciate any help.
i played antonius' list at a local legacy tournament went 3-0-1 (ID in swiss) and crushed the top4 (cut) X-0.
for your reference, the list:
http://www.westcoastlegacy.com/press...-fucking-good/
i played -1 assault +1 sylvan library because i am unlucky and always draw 2 seismic assault and no loam in my opener. /coolreason
my sb was different as well.
i liked lightning bolt a lot, i expected it to be much worse, but it actually won me a few games.
lavamancer was pretty annoying for opponents.
beat in swiss:
rd1 - merfolk 2-0
rd2 - gw maverick 2-0
rd3 - red welder deck w/ blightsteel/wurmcoil 2-1
rd4 - 4c zoo (Intentional Draw)
beat in top4:
rd5 - esper stoneforge 2-0
rd6 - 4c zoo (we did not play this out, but i wrecked him 3-0 when we ID in the swiss, it was a pretty easy matchup)
I see no matches against UW Stoneforge being played. How have you found it, Tony/anyone else here?

First time poster in this thread. It seems that this is 'The deck that beats all Deck to Beats (statistically favoured)' at the moment.
I like Antonius's deck a lot (BRG) and have a few ideas for the SB.
1. Ancient Grudge. It probably does not replace Krosan Grip, but is there a compelling reason not to have 1 or 2 in the SB, considering so many Artifacts in Legacy. Plus, it plays well with Dredge.
2. Phyrexian Metamorph. As much as I like Perish, it only answers Progenitus, or am I missing something? Phyrexian Metamorph does it as efficient and comes in against Show & Tell and Reanimator.
3. Entomb. I like sdematt's idea and building a hate.sb seems hot, like many white decks with Enlightened Tutor. It seems good now (Worm Harvest, Volcanic Spray, Ray of Revelation), and Innistrad will hopefully include a bunch of cheap cost Flashbacks.
@Sauce: Killing people with lightning bolt is amazing, though i'm sure that the games it "won you" were probably games where it was used as removal. Still, the reach is very nice.
@sdematt: Their most powerful play, Turn 3 Batterskull, hardly matters. Goyf, Crusher and Seismic Assault all outclass batterskull as threats and Loam/Wasteland pretty much bars them from ever getting to 8 mana to bounce and re-make batterskulls every turn. There's not much they can do to stop Loam. In my experience, the match has been very favorable. Their primary outs come in the form of Early Crucible/Wasteland (against your slower, no mox draw) + Early Jace. If they get early Jace at any time when you have no threats or can only play one threat per turn, then you're definitely in trouble. I also have yet to play against the Visions version of UW (over here, I think I'm the only person that plays visions--everyone else plays Standstill) but I imagine that visions would be harder to play against than standstill, since we can turn standstill off so easily by just resolving bobs or goyfs.
@tsabo_tavoc-
1. Some blue decks run Leyline, so I like having Grip in there as an uncounterable answer. I used to run grudge but found that most of the artifacts you'd want to kill with it either don't matter (batterskull) or so few in your opponent's deck that they're easily handled by pulse (Crucible). Of course, if Affinity and Painter start getting played again in LA, i would definitely consider running Grudges again.
2. Perish also owns any given green deck. I've destroyed Elves, Zoo and Bant with it on multiple occasions. It basically takes the place of Dreams/Seismic Assault post board because you know that their grave hate will make Loam--and by consequence, those spells--less reliable. One-sided Wraths are disgusting. The problem with Metamorph against show and tell is that 90% of the time, Show and Tell is not going to go for the Emrakul kill against us. Against re-animator, Metamorph has the problem of not really answering Jin-Gitaxias. I know, I know, he kills Jin if he resolves, but he's a sorcery speed answer. How often do you think you're going to get through after they've already drawn seven cards? And even if Metamorph does get through on Jin, what do you do when they untap and reanimate him again next turn?
I'd rather stick to the duress/pyroblast/grave-hate plan against Reanimator. TBH, though, you can't expect to win that match-up very often. Their strategy is just too difficult for ours to interact with.
3. The problem with using entomb for sideboard stuff is that most people, after sideboard, would try to hate on your graveyard.
@Antonius: It's worth noting that if they Reanimate Jin-Gitaxias once they will not be able to do it again if you answer him the first time.
@Antonius: I was looking at your list through that link on the last page... It looks like only 56 cards; did you forget 4x Mox Diamond, or was it something else?
True, but how often are they going to draw seven blanks?
Edit: by reanimate, i didn't strictly mean 'Reanimate.' Exhume and Animate Dead are both cards too.
Keiichi: yeah, i forget mox diamonds all the time. I got a game loss like four months ago for forgetting to write them on my deck list. Thanks for pointing it out. it's been fixed.
Congrats on your win, 2 moxen in a row wow. I found a few errors on your report but nah, nvm that.
I enjoy reading your reports. They're VERY entertaining. It's too bad I can't hang out with the LA crew, seems like a good bunch.
A guy from our playgroup has been in LA for a few months. You've probably seen him around. Nixon? Plays Merfolk, Bant, etc.
Looks like you lucksacked a bit, but whatever. I'm surprised you board out Seismic so much. I just usually rawdog it on 2 Assaults and see where it takes me.
I may try your list tonight, or I might play NO Bant (since our meta still has tons of RUG, and I'd like to see the Bant vs RUG matchup).
I definitely like Grudges, in my meta especially, but I'm thinking:
2 Krosan Grip
1 Ancient Grudge (for Shackles, Swords, Crucible, blowing their Crypt early, etc)
3 Perish
4 Pyroblast
2 Thrun, the Last Troll (VERY solid in the UW Stoneblade matchup, against TA, Rock, NO RUG, and other removal heavy stuff)
2 Firespout/Deed
3 Extirpate
My meta sees a bit more Dredge/Merfolk/NO Bant/UW Stoneforge being played, so I've tuned my sideboard towards crap like that. Thoughts on this board, Tony?
I think I'll still try the Entombs, since they're nuts Game 1 and an easy board out game 2.
-Matt
^^
Looks good to me. I never felt like Thrun was necessary but your meta sounds a bit different from mine. If there's really a lot of dredge, I would run Spellbomb and Jailer over Extirpate.
Also, I feel Esper America/White America should actually be called "The Klan" or something like that. Just saying.
-Matt
I've got a new list that I've wanted to try. Maybe you guys could give it a run-through? I plan to play it next week at a tournament for a Lotus.
The meta is more filled with Stoneblade, some combo, but much blue, so I figured Dreams was a pretty big gamble.
I've basically taken your list Tony and tweaked it a bit for me. Fires has been the nuts for me, so I don't think I need Lavamancer, as has Sylvan (and Dreams is a HUGE liability for me).
4 Wooded Foothills
2 Bloodstained Mire
3 Grove of the Burnwillows
1 Forest
2 Mountain
2 Taiga
1 Bayou
1 Badlands
1 Volrath's Stronghold
3 Forgotten Cave
3 Tranquil Thicket
3 Wasteland
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Countryside Crusher
4 Dark Confidant
4 Life from the Loam
4 Mox Diamond
2 Maelstrom Pulse
3 Seismic Assault
2 Punishing Fires
2 Entomb
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Sylvan Library
Thoughts?
I am going a bit more graveyardy with the Entombs, but with Fires, it's super greasy. Plus, it's an easy board out if my graveyard is getting shit on, and it can help me find Ancient Grudges or Thruns.
I was thinking my board is:
2 Krosan Grip - Stoneblade
1 Ancient Grudge - Stoneblade
3 Perish - Bant, Team America, Elves, Progenitus
2 Thrun - Stoneblade, Junk, Removal heavy decks
3 Extirpate - Reanimator, Dredge, Loam mirror
1 Worm Harvest - Stoneblade, Zoo, Merfolk, etc (either by just creating a ton of blockers/attackers, or having a bunch of dudes that a counter heavy deck can't deal with)
1 Darkblast - Easily Entombable, good for hitting Dryad Arbor, Confidant, etc. Flex slot, could be REB.
2 Pyroblast/REB
Thoughts?
-Matt
Antonius, MODO players have started going -2 lavamancer +2 bloodbraid in order to combat jace, how would you feel about this change? I know it blanks devastating dreams, but it makes the deck less vulnerable to misstep and creates amazing tempo on turn 3. Here is an example, this guy ran knight of the reliquary too. jacksad is the guy's modo name http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Digital.../tourn/2739097. The way this guy boards for control with -3 devasting dreams
-2 go for the throat +1 bloodbraid +2 choke +2 ancient grudge
you do not need choke in this deck's sb, blue based control decks cannot beat you. period.
lavamancer does a good job at keeping jace honest and its also much better than bbe main deck.
i used to sb bbe, i think thats where he belongs.
also, if you play antonius' version then you run 4 bolts main - you don't need bbe main for jace.
