If you name the Sword before they equip, then they won't be able to equip, and the sword will be useless. Once it is equipped, you're right: Needle and Revoker do nothing against it's abilities.

Regarding phyrexian revoker, it seems that no one is interested to discuss it because (in my opinion) it suffers from the same problem of pithing needle : it's decent against eveything but fantastic against nothing.
In my view, these cards are good in sideboards of decks that already pack answers to everything main deck(counterspells, discard) and have even matchups against most of the field. In this situation, needle or revoker coming from the board can help pushing the matchup a bit in your favor.
Unfortunately a deck like goblins has nearly unwinnable matchups (combo in primis), so i think we need more impactful cards in our board.
Agreed. Either you replace a goblin with a better goblin or replace a goblin with a kickass card for that MU.
On another note I am still testing a list featuring 3 matrons and 1 krenko + 1 mirror entity as the finishers. I am unexpectedly putting up good finish at my local store so I can't find the reasons to go back to where I started. The lower curve is working real good. I still loose games with a handfull of cards stuck in my hand but it happens less than what it used to be. Mirror entity is a must-answer card that gives another angle of attack to the deck. For just 3 mana that is pretty good.
I agree that lowering the curve is a promising route to take, however my impression on Mirror Entity (I tested it just recently) was quite negtaive. In theory it's exactly that you want to have (low casting cost, mana-hungry ability, must-answer), but I found that a real weak spot of the card is the fact that it does not have an immediate impact on your board. Plus, tapping 3+ mana for it's ability is a risky thing to do in a world with infinite numbers of cc1-instant-speed-removals, which is the reason I found Entity not good enough vs. Jund and RUG(b) Thresh.
My gut feeling tells me that another copy of Goblin Chieftain will do the boosting-job just as well as Entity with the benefits that he provides haste and is red.
A friend of mine just showed me, that confusion isn't better against omnitell then Angel. Of they use the Cunningham wish for a bounce spell ('stead of trickbind), the Trade won't Happen :(
I think the strongest card for this MU is Cabal Therapy. Requires black-splash though, but given our creature-density it's practically uncounterable. Even IF they used BS in response and IF they were to hide the 2 combopieces, you can re-use it on turn after by naming "Force of Will" on your first cast and you have a 50% chance of hitting the correct card on your flashback. At the very least you will gain 1-2 turns time by investing B or B+creature.
I know. Discard effects are very good against SnT. Nevertheless, my testings have shown that they are not as good against TES/AnT, where you need a mix of disruption to win.
That said, I was whinning because there is not an universal answer to an opponent that casts SnT, and I don't like that.
Take Possession ? Does that even work? A guy at my shop used to be big on it.
Here's how Replenish works: "Auras can only be placed on permanents that were on the battlefield before this effect started to resolve. "
I'm pretty sure tha Show and Tell is the same.
Aura's target upon casting, so the since Show and Tell puts them into play simultaneously it wont work. The reason Oblivion Ring works is because it's and ETB effect. Both are already on the field when it triggers.
Updated my last post (here) with new results against many decks!
Well first off, I asked him to update his result in the way he does. Because
Second, I find it less interesting what exactly the UPDATES are (i.e. it's not important for me to know what's old information and what's new), but I (as a reader) want to see the WHOLE list anayway.
However, it won't hurt anyone if you, cronos could somehow mark the UPDATED results (e.g. by the color red) and maybe put a date/time of the last update in the posting.
Thanks for your contribution again! Soon, when I find the time to update the primer, I will hotlink your result-list on the list of "Good Reads".
Hi!
Im new in this forum, first of all sorry about my english, isnt my language :/
Im working a lot in Goblins for next GP in Paris, searching a fun and competitive deck (im a ex-pro from my country, currently play for fun with my mtg friends, and I dont want play combo in a big tournament like GP, is so bored)
Well, I made a top 8 losing with tons of bad luck against the winner, I used this decklist:
http://www.thecouncil.es/tcdecks/dec...4&iddeck=86590
Im pretty sure that the strategy needs 24 lands. All the people play the same configuration (6fetch+taiga+plateau) but when I see players like Cedric Philips playing this extra more land for have the fourth land in the fourth turn with the statics (theoricaly)
Then, my next changes are;
-1 Warchief +1 Mountain
-1 Canonist +1 Mindbreak trap
-1 Reb +1 Iona/Ashen Rider/Oblivion Ring
Along with Tin-street many times goes Krosan Grip, but I've noticed some people moving to Wear//Tear. Have you missed the split second? Against Counterbalance or Moat, won't the W part be super easily countered? I havent played UW enough to know or Wear//Tear, so Ill throw it out to you all.
