Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm
Haha, how nice. Thats probably a friend of mine&I who did "well" in daily events :) The metagame on modo is so ridiculous...We played 4 rounds, 3 times vs CounterTop +Wasteland, two were 4c and had some thoughtseizes in there...oO
My report will take some more days because word ate the first part of it...:(
Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm
I refuse to modo results seriously in relation to real life legacy until all of the same cards are available, and prices are roughly the same between real life and online. I doubt the latter will ever happen though.

Well that is good to know since most people won't take you seriously either, it is comforting to think that you are strong enough to remain unliked and stupid.
Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm
First of all congratulations! It appears that TES will now be the combo DTB. Since this is the case, I want to know what your goldfish turn percentages are. On average when do you win? Do I have to worry about losing often to a turn 2 TES combo?

No, your posts are pretty bad. Not that i dislike you, but i think i skip over your posts entirely. although I took the horrid bait, none the less you got me.
TES has took 6 placings in 4 round dailies in 4 days. You do not have to take that seriously because....Port,Maze,Metalworker,Tangle Wire,Misdirect,Unmask and the rest of the sb cards from Mercadian?
That leaves, hmm.. CbalanceThopter,NH and Bant,Standstill,Dreadstill,Dredge,Agg Loam,Zoo,Merf,DnT,Aeon Bridge,Fae,Tell me when to stop. I missed a lot more.
Thank you for the <3 and next time be sure to include a hug with it because words can only do so much.

I'm not saying anything against TES. Its a very good deck, and I play it quite often. Part of my comment stems from wizards use of modo as a justification for banning mystical tutor (which everyone knows is ridiculous) and because I don't believe the online meta correctly mirrors the real life meta. Things like the fact that force of will costs $80 but tabernacle costs $5 makes for a very skewed meta.
I had also just finished reading an article about how certain decks were going to be very popular tomorrow because they had just done well the last few days online. MTGO is certainly one way to judge the meta, but I feel its the weakest. I hope this clarifies my original point.

You're going to at least have to pay for dinner before you kiss me.
FoW is 80 and LED is 55 , but all the duals are at least 50% less then paper. If FoW is 35-50 in paper and duals are 40-Badland- to 90-Seas- then what is the diff? No deck is mono blue, aside Merfolk the rest like to use around 6-8 Duals.
Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm
The metagame online is very, veery hard for combo. The difference to rl is that there fewer Byes and more very hard matchups. At least from what Iīve seen so far. Everyone plays Counterbalance and Wasteland and stuff...if a Stormcombo deck wins consistently on Modo itīs probably the best :)

I would not call it the best. Online does have some pros(way more in Std,Block Constructed/Limited} and some former pros etc, but magic is magic. If you can play you can play anywhere. Also certain archetypes make for really good players that you will hardly if ever see online.

Arrrgh ;-)! Canīt wait for your english report to come, as Iīve already read the german version^^. But, Iīd really like to know more about your possible feelded changes post-tournament in detail, e.g. 4th Infernal Tutor maindeck vs. wishable, 2nd Ad Nauseam vs. Empty the Warrens, [Sb] 3rd Pyroblast, Krosan Grip? Not that I donīt like Bryants' latest deck-version (Iīve even succsessfully played it last [smaller] tournament to a 2nd place), but the german metagame seems to be a bit different than the US one. I, e.g. have to fight a lot of hatebears and the like, but not that much CB-Top and especially a lot of Merfolk.
My current Sideboard, with Briants' list -1 U.-Sea + 1 Tropical Island:
1 Wipe Away
2 Echoing Truth
2 Pyroblast
2 Xantid Swarm
1 Diminishing Returns
1 Ill-Gotten Gains
1 Tendrils of Agony
1 Empty the Warrens
1 Grapeshot
1 Thoughtseize
1 Reverent Silence
1 Shattering Spree
Imo the maindeck Empty the Warrens really shines, not just in Germany but even worldwide!?. It is just too often "autowin" against the newest Merfolk-lists (no Echoing Truth!) and also CB-Top. Therefore the 2nd Ad Nauseam might not be worth ist over EtW and the 4th Infernal Tutor just brings more speed/explosivness G1. So far I really like my Sb, as it offers all options exept for a wishable bounce. @ all: But, how important is it at BW + UU, except for Iona on black? Finding Tropical Island for Xantids/RevSilence so far hasnīt been a problem for me and been really solid during my games. What do you think about it? What about your experiences with Chant vs. Silence (4:0, 3:1, 2:2)? - the Chant-kicker to me has been relevant quiet some times.

It's been a long time that I read a decent report about Storm Combo from a german pilot.

Sweet! Any chance of a quick rundown of what you faced? If not, I understand. Must be tiring as hell playing for so long.
Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm
Great ! Nice to see secured storm deck for day2. So, how many CB decks you faced? And how do you think about metagame on top tables?
Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm
Gratz!
I wouldn't mind reading your report regardless of how you do.
