Using caverns for Insect would be too greedy and can bite his ass lacking a green mana for dropping Elves afterwards especially if you want to loop (uncounterable) elves with Symbiote.

For all of those talking about trying Opposition in Elves I have made a NEW thread here.

It also has links to Pierre's article about the deck and the deck techs on SCG and CFB.

So lately I have been having a lot of trouble beating these new Grixis Delver decks, after playing the matchup countless times I seem to be beat one or another whether it's through the air with Delver or them generating so many tokens that I am unable to combat them before comboing off. I've tried Meekstone in the SB but was wondering if anyone else had any other good possible SB cards that might swing the matchup more in our favor.
*I have also jammed in a 4th Abrupt Decay & Elderscale Wurm in the SB as well
During the TC/DTT era, when UR Delver was everywhere, I sometimes ran Marsh Casualties in the sideboard, which should help. It's not great though.
Nowadays, if I wanted to improve my Grixis matchup, I'd just add 1-2 Umezawa's Jitte. It's insanely good.
I have to agree here with Julian. If you want to fight fair decks just jam 2 Jitteīs into your Sideboard. Itīs just bonkers vs Grixis Delver (And really strong vs other Delver decks in general)and they will not be prepared for it and have no answers to it most of the time. Jitte gets also really fast online in this deck just because of your mass of mana dorks...
Awesome thanks Julian & Manipulato for the input I will jam a Jitte or two and take it for spin again through the Leagues online
I've had games where I attacked with a Jitte-equipped Nettle Sentinel on turn2 :-)
On another note, check out my week#7 match of the Legacy Mediocre League from earlier tonight:

I'm not sure if my favorite part of this video was you punishing Tim for his less than ideal lines game 1 or the dynamic between Joe and Danny...
Finished 5-2 in the MTGO Legacy Festival Championship. Built the deck to be strong against Miracles and Grixis Delver, the (by far!) two most represented decks among the people who qualified. This is what I faced:
R1: 1-2 vs Grixis Delver LOSS
R2: 0-2 vs Miracles LOSS
R3: 2-0 vs 4c Delver WIN
R4: 2-0 vs Eldrazi WIN
R5: 2-0 vs Eldrazi WIN
R6: 2-0 vs Miracles WIN
R7: 2-0 vs BUG Delver WIN
Yeah, looks like I really enraged after those two initial losses. The tournament is still going on, but I guess 5-2 was good enough for a Top32 and at least some Player Points. Still not happy about those two initial losses. In g3 of round1, I died with SIX LANDS in hand. That's just how it goes sometimes, I guess (even though my Twitter followers definitely got an earful this afternnoon). I've always been saying that if one day Elves gets something useful to do with any surplus lands it draws, the deck will explode to the next level. Unfortunately right now this is only possible through losing tempo (Brainstorm), which is not where I want to be. Can someone please print Llanowar Assault Elves?
This is what I played:

Yeah, the big problem with any ramp deck is having a mana sink, and Elves is a ramp deck (as a combo deck, comparing to ANT we play even more mana instead of discard and that's in NO builds). Most mana sinks that have been incorporated thus far are "business", not mana you can pump mana into to do at least something, barring of course DRS. Finding mana sources that can do anything at all would be huge. Can't do much with colourless lands in this deck, sadly.
4-0, 0-3 at a Win-a-Mox, Moat, Usea, Volc, FoW, FoW, FoW, FoW..
Played whatever build I had sleeved up.
3x Natural Order, 1 Ruric, 1 Hoof, 2 Cavern (1 Arbor, 8 Fetches, 1 Pendelhaven), Teeg in the board.
R1: 2-0 v Death and Taxes
R2: 2-1 v Esper Stoneblade
R3: 2-1 v Sneak & Show
R4: 2-0 v Infect
R5: 1-2 v Lands
R6: 1-2 v Miracles
R7: 1-2 v Eldrazi
Lands matchup was out of my hands, his were just quick and aggressive.
Eldrazi match was a mullfest where he kept 7 every game, played whatever he drew off the top, asked for oracle on every card, and made 0 correct decisions.
Lost two win and ins, so that was frustrating. My eldrazi opponent and I were the only x-2s in contention, having near 70% breakers going into the last round.
My lands and miracles opponents top 8'd.
Top 8: Eldrazi x3, Miracles x2, Lands x2, Jund
You mean a manasink for both small and big numbers of mana which isn't straight up terrible against counter. Basically the reason why GSZ is good as a ramp Spell and Chord of Calling is not. Dunno if there are so many playable manasinks beyond DRS, GSZ and Symbiote+Visionary
The problem of the manasinks we do have is that they need the nr. 1 lightning rod to stick on the field (Symbiote). You'd rather just have something you pump mana in, no questions asked, no other cards needed. Packmaster comes to mind (even though you need another creature on the field and 4 mana).
Having a tough time against miracles, would mistcutter hydra be a good sideboard option against miracles?
The central problem about any "answer" to Miracles much less resolving it, but getting a lasting advantage out of it. Mistcutter Hydra is just a Fireball at best.
If we were going that route, gaea's revenge would be better. but both just get terminus'd or blocked by mentor tokens all day =(
honestly, lantern of insight or something would be better...
START RAPPING, YOU GANGSTER! We've been waiting for a new hit single long enough now, dammit!
But to paraphrase - why do you think it's a good idea to use a creature to answer a deck that plays StP and Terminus..?
If you want a way to deal with Miracles, you'll have to find a threat they cannot answer or at least have a very hard time answering. Not something that's answered by the same stuff that causes your problems in the first place. Planeswalkers that produce tokens have proven themselves quite useful for this purpose. Yes, yes, they can run Council's Judgment, but I'd rather deal with just Council's Judgment then with Council's Judgment, StP and Terminus.
