I'd prefer to see SnT banned then TNN.
TNN is much fairer than SnT. Without Equipment TNN is just a wall.
SnT is just the most unfair card ever print. It requires a whole strategy just to deal with it. It's hilarious

I don't mean to complain, but finally. It is hugely unchecked in the hands of someone average with a just a little playtesting.
I still want it because it's really cool, i just don't like my odds against it. It's a pretty bad matchup for me...

Legacy has always had strong cards...SDT, Lion's Eye Diamond, Show and Tell, Jace, and now TNN. That makes Legacy the best format, because you have access to all these kinds of powerful cards, but at the same time the format gives you a response for each card. Because this deck is strong right now, does WOTC need to ban Show and Tell? Every time we come up against a deck that's hard to beat, should we just ban it? There will always be the Deck Of The Moment that's hard to beat.
For a few weeks on this site we're seeing a lot of ''this needs to be banned'' and ''that needs to be banned.'' I want to say that for those who are prone to that way of thinking, there is already a format like that: Modern.
Sneak 'n' Show decks have been strong for 2 years now. Since Emrakul and Progenitus.
Even thought Sneak Attack is rather fair (color, activation, cc), SnT is instead unfair (blue, 3cc) and with a Thoughtseize or a (free mana) Gitaxian Probe you can play it as a one side only 3cc Emrakul (or worse).
It's a just a wrong card.
that's why 2 SA are worth 1 SnT..
Sneak Attack has all the weaknesses of an enchantment, it can be blocked with a Pithing Needle, it requires 3RR to go off in the same turn. It can't be pitched to FoW if drawn in multiple.
Sneak Attack is much fairer than SnT.
Already becoming format warping. Should probably be banned but won't be most likely. Wizards hates banning creatures.
As a Sneak and Show player I can say that I'd much rather win with Sneak Attack if I can help it. Sneak Attack is secretly the best card in the deck. Show and Tell, as amazing as the card is, is not 100% foolproof and a lot more things can go wrong when it resolves (unlike Sneak Attack). I don't think that Show and Tell is oppressive enough that it needs to be banned, but it could use some more hate cards against it.
But regardless, this is a True-Name Nemesis topic, not a Show and Tell topic.
5 TNN decks in the Top 8 already is quite alot and might show the direction we're already heading for: Pro TNN, Anti-TNN and combo decks.
I strongly encourage you to downvote TNN on their Gatherer page (see the link in my signature). Sure, most likely it isn't going to do anything in the end, but we have to start somewhere to show how much people hate it.
O-Ring, Karakas and various other cards laugh at S&T, though. SA is a more fearsome card since it blanks many answers that work against S&T.
S&T is more expensive because it sees play in Omnitell, Hivemind, Reanimator and 12 Post while SA is limited to Sneak & Show and Big Red.
So basically, the odds of me sitting down at the top tables and facing either Sneak and show or a True Name deck are probably at least 50%? Yay. So excite. Wow.
Also to the debate of Sneak or show being better, most Non Blue decks can actually beat SnT --> fatty through random means like put in KOTR or Karakas or something, whereas with a sneak attack assuming you arent Main boarding something so narrow like Pithing Needle, a lot of decks actually just can't beat a sneak attack.
I think Show and Tell is too strong. I think the format would be a lot more diverse without it!
The deck has proven itself to be the best. They banned fucking Survival, they better stop the free Griselbrands...
the point is also the hate.
a Pithing Needle is 10 times a stronger hate card then a Meddling Mage on SnT.
there's no possible hate to SnT but counters. That's also very dangerous. And again, SnT fits also in 12 posts, Sneak Show, Omnitell, etc.
it's so much everywhere that decks without answears to that card are just totally helpless in modern meta.
and it is 1 single card.
You mean like in Europe?

S&T is a one trick pony. You have to build your whole deck around it. TNN on the other hand, can be slapped into any existing shell. Your options for interacting with S&T is discard, counters and specific hate cards. Your options for interacting with TNN is also discard counters and specific hate cards. However once you deal with S&T the deck doesn't offer anything else (ok and a Sneak Attack). Once you deal with TNN (using one of those limited answers) you also have to deal with a million other ways TNN decks are attacking you. I think design-wise and gameplay-wise TNN is sticking out like a sore thumb. The card is definitely beatable but makes for a fucking shitty uninteresting gameplay.
You've got to kidding me if you think that card prices are only decided by how good they are. Is Brainstorm a shitty card just because it is so cheap?
This is a disappointing time to play legacy. I would much rather play against Show and Tell decks than TNN, even if I'm playing my own TNN's. Games with TNN in them are among the least interesting I have ever played. People are saying that fun is subjective and that is obviously true but this card is so aggressively anti-fun for any non-combo players that it makes the entire format less appealing and less entertaining. Magic is a game, it should be fun and interactive not a race to see who can draw cards that add up to 20 damage faster.
As a matter of fact, Brainstorm is likely one of the most expensive commons. Why? Because it's incredibly strong and widely playable in a lot of decks. Same goes for S&T over Sneak Attack, explaining the price difference.
much more. I'd say 60% at least.
The only decks without those 2 cards will be: storm combo, Elves, Goblin, DnT. The rest will probably have some copy of one.
no one is going to main board it.
The point is that a g2 PN in a meta without SnT would make the game much fairer.
Now we have Sneak Show players with 25 win in a row at official tournaments.. never seen something like that.
You counter SnT? doesn't matter they play 8-10 effects like that.
You block Sneak Attack? who cares? they only need to get a Griselbrand online somehow..
never seen something like that. Just Flash-Hulk was better (and just because of Instant Speed and 1U mana cost combo). This is a sorcery speed, 2U, combo
You mean like the 28-1-2 record Julian23 broke in BoM with Elves?

I'm a little irritated with all the people who are like, "oh no! A 3/1 that can't be targeted! I'll just kill with griselbrand or emrakul!". If this logic were true then mental misstep would not need to be banned. I mean we already have cards that are comparable in power level or even stronger like force of will and daze so why did mental misstep get the axe? I think all the critics need to take a step back and look at the format warping taking place. Noone is saying that TNN is stronger than griselbrand, the argument is for format warping in the same way that mental misstep warped the format despite being less powerful than cards currently legal.
