Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Is it worth building from Mono blue omnitell to SneakShow? or should I just go straight to SS?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Finished Top 6 after the Tournament with 37 players in the event.
R1 vs Elves - 2-1
R2 vs Affinity - 2-1
R3 vs Jund - 1-2
R4 vs Elves - 2-0
R5 vs Team America - 2-0
R6 vs High Tide - ID
Lost to a teammate in the Quarterfinals using Elves.
Since I'm not playing Leyline of Sanctity in the Sideboard I had troubles making decisions vs Jund. I might revert back to that in the future.

Testing with and against, I'd say Omni* is more fun. Whatever that's worth.

Ive been fighting against sneak and show using my omnitell and Im really having a hard time winning against it. what they do is sandbag a griselbrand and just wait for you to show and tell.
waiting for dream halls is the better alternative but it is too slow for sneakyshow.

If you are having troubles dealing with a sandbagged griselbrand then cunning wish for trickbind before going off.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
knowledgable opponents who drop a grisel would know to trigger another pay 7:draw 7 in response to your cunning wish.

Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Hey there,
I've been dabbling with building a version of this deck and I'm stumbling at one particular point: Leyline of Sanctity. More specifically the number of Leylines in the board. I've seen many placing deck lists running three. This completely rubs me the wrong way. To me this seems like a clear cut case of a four-or-zero card. My reasoning is (quite obviously) that this is a card you side in with the express aim to (mulligan if need be to) have it in your opening hand. Four makes this significantly more likely to happen than three. Unlike something like, say, Mindbreak Trap which you also want in your opening hand, the Leyline seems very much a dead card anywhere BUT in your opening hand. If you're still alive by turn three or four and you draw into a Mindbreak Trap that's usually pretty good. The same can't be said for Leyline.
So I'm slightly puzzled, but I might just need to open my eyes. Can someone go over their decisions to have three (or even fewer) rather than the full four?
Thanks! :)

Look at the main board. Quite a few people run a 1/3 split.
Mainly its so you can fit in an extra SB slot. If its not needed in a match-up (DnT is an example in my mind), then its a free slot to side in what you want.

"knowledgable opponents who drop a grisel would know to trigger another pay 7:draw 7 in response to your cunning wish."
Which is why I stated you should wish before trying to go off.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I'm actually going to drop the leylines and test out a mix of divert/ misdirectiono and maybe spell snare.
Hate is getting proactive and spell snare gets most everything that really throws a wrench in the game plan. Plus it can be used in other matchups.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
In what split?
I'm thinking about something like this:
3x Spell snare, 1x Misdirection
3x Spell Pierce, 1x Misdirection
Wouldn't Spell pierce be better than snare (countering the planeswalkers - Liliana, Jace)? :)
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I don't want to jam three more counterspells so I would try 2 spell snare max. You are correct about hitting walkers with pierce but I am much more concerned with meddling mage, hymn, thalia, canonist, etc. Also gets SFM if they have no pressure and you want to neuter their clock. Also might be marginally better than pierce vs an engine deck like storm (they can often generate enough mana to ignore pierce)
I'm going to try divert before misdirection. In my practice I tend to have an extra mana more often than an extra card when going off. This weekend I'm gonna try a 2 and 2 split I think.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Great so tell us later what the results are :). About thalia&canonist - I suppose snare won't be that good (vial plus cavern of souls) but we shall see :) But why I'm thinking about the snare is that it would be great against counterbalance which gives me a hard time every time I'm facing miracles, how do you fight this one? ;/
