She can impact the board. And I had the setup for gsun of which you spoke. 5-7 0-1 drops for aggressive mana access and then the most relevant card for the deck at 3, 4 and 5 up the curve for when you have the mana. If your fear is me drawing one of the creatures and a gsun or something, I wouldnt worry.
And again, I'm merely mentioning where I'm going to test her (Planeswalker build and support role replacing painful truths like effects), I'm not advocating for her inclusion. Feel free not to test her, but I see her filling a glaring hole in our planeswalkers suite, and I anticipate that WotC wanted the card to be good, which mean she's worth a try in my books.
Her board impact is very minor because if you remove a would be attacker you're still losing 2 life. In a sense she can block, but in another sense she can't do it very well, and if you're chaining 0's you're giving your opponent a clock while not actually progressing your PW.
When it comes to GSZ, you have a bunch of 1 drops, and then you have 1 2, 1 3, 1 4, and 1 5. What do you do when that card is in your hand? That's what I'm referring to by not having a good curve. If Thrun is in your hand, you've blanked an X=4 GSZ.
When it comes to being good, I assume Wizards doesn't want the card to suck. I'm just not sure if this is the format or the deck for it.
By all means test it, I'm just trying to point out holes in the deck where you might get poor testing results, not because of the card but because of the rest of the cards it's supporting.

1) that is one way to interpret her. I'm hoping she plays out more like a painful truths that can also impersonate a dismember. Like an Abzan charm on crack.
2) I understood what you meant and I said im not worried about that. I've played with one 4 drop and one 3 drop many times and havnt had that issue. It's like drawing a dryad abor, it happens but it's much better because you have two great cards in your hand, instead of a dryad abor
3) lol yes, agreed. That's why someone should test her and find out.
4) I've said I'll be testing two shells, neither of which will be at all far from conventional lists of their style. Do you have any alternatives? I hvnt posted a list for her as just a support card yet, but I imagine it I'll be similar to normal junk lists with painful truths with her as the painful truths. I don't want to build a list around her, that sounds like a mistake to me (like you said, resto is better) you have any ideas?
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Well, thinking about her as another form of Painful Truths, it has mainly been Tireless Tracker that edged that card out. I don't think it's worth dropping Tracker for this though. Maybe a 4 drop split of something like 3 Rhino/2 Kaya would work.
Edit: After thinking about it, I think I like Kaya against Miracles. I think I like Sorin LoI more but you can -1 for a clock, and -2 to build a board and destroy their inherent CA, you can maybe even 0 to keep them from ever going crazy with a Mentor, and 0 kills Angel/Monk tokens too.
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
The Angel tokens is quite a gamble though - if they churn out enough you just die in a single swing, well before you can activate that silly PW. And w/ Mentor they can just respond to the PW activation w/ an instant so they have at least 1 token to bash your PW to bits the following turn.
You silly people...

They can do all that, but you have to make them have it. That's what I like about CA heavy builds against Miracles. They can answer anything but they can't answer everything. When you're doing 3-5 things a turn, they just can't keep up and something eventually gets through. Like I said, I think I like Sorin LoI more because it clocks them, but I can see where Kaya does work in the match.
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Kaya isn't good for the cost. We all love new cards but the other PWs are just better...
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
@Brael: In case of the new PW, Miracles doesn't have to have it. The PW itself just sits there twiddling its thumbs half the time, it doesn't pose a real clock. They have all the time to find what they need. The PW isn't an immediate threat in any form or way.
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
I don't know about that. CA is always a threat to Miracles. Second the -1 isn't the greatest clock, but if you've already hit them to 6 or so, it's fast enough.
Like I said before, I don't like Kaya, I just think she's good against Miracles.

Sorry Qweerios, couldn't help myself XD
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
The best tech against miracles is the new Gideon (costs 2ww) and/or the new Liliana (1BB). I saw both of these cards run through the few Miracles players yesterday at SCG Cuse. They also did a number against general "control" archetypes. DnT was running 2 Gideon in the board and I'd be willing to do something similar with Junk fit. Liliana was in a variety of black decks. Folks were telling me she is a house and her ultimate is just overwhelming.
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
I find it odd that Gideon outperformed Elspeth.
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Could this just be a card availability scenario?
Does Mom play into the choice for playing him in DnT? Being able to protect Gideon from swords feels good, and his ult helps if you are going wide.
I can see a few edges where he might have an argument in DnT that isn't as supported in Nic Fit.
Elspeth's clock might not be as fast as Gideon but she feels like a much safer bet and works very well with deed.

Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Currently in the middle of a league with 4Rhino Fit using almost the same list in my description, i think the only difference is To The Slaughter is replaced with a second Pithing Needle. Beat out Eldrazi & Taxes last night 2-1, vet is super great in this matchup as the only card in their 75 that doesnt kill him is Warping Wail, but Eldrazi Displacer is a real threat in ground stalls. managed to pull out a win thanks to Price of Progress in games 2 and 3. Just managed to luck sack a win against Omnitell thanks to him having a bad hand game 2 and double Slaughter Games in game 3. Might try and get another game in tonight but I might just wait until tomorrow to play another game. Hope the rest of my matches go as well as these B)

This is basically Imperial Recruiter.
Has to be something dumb we can do with this in Abzan, right?
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Things it can fetch from the top of my head;
Vet, DRS, SFM, Scooze, Tracker, itself, KotR, eternal witness, Shriekmaw, fleshbag marauder and all the hate bears in sideboard games.
Has potential O_o

I guess the question is can you fit it all on one deck etc. and will that deck fulfill the prime directive.

Abzan Nic fit say "Yes" to Imperial Recruiter White? Why? What is the difference?
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Is there an Aluren combo we can reasonably search up in Abzan?
Got to be something we can find after a couple Recruiters and a Whitemane Lion. If we can get a couple extra triggers, Saffi Eriksdotter + Loyal Retainers is almost there, but not quite.
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
White and red are different colours? Is that not enough of a difference to give this card a look? White has hatebears, rector and equipment to turn little dudes into threats.
Again, I'm no advocate for these new cards but I'm willing to test them rather than ignore them.
