Julian,
Your game 2 in quarter final Vs Miracle is the perfect example why I don't like Toughtseize Vs Miracle. In late game, when you did a ressource war (creature Vs creature hate), Toughtseize is just a bad draw.. You don't want that. You need a threat for your opponent (like Planeswalker).
Decay, Surgical and Planeswalker (or/and WRP) are the best sb plan. I'm really not sure you need Thoughtseize. It's ok OTP for Top..
If you think Thoughtseize is OTP for Top, you have a very limited view of what the card is for. Half the time you're not even taking Top with it anyway. If your plan is to go lategame and be grindy, trying to do anything about Top (Needle etc) is a big no. Just like FoW'ing Top, Thoughtseizing Top is also questionable; Thoughtseizing it can sometimes be justified since unlike FoW, it also lets you see your opponent's hand, which is a huge advantage in Elves vs Miracles.
The cards you wanna take with it in Elves vs Miracles are Snapcaster, Swords, Jace, Terminus and other big important spells. On top of that, the information you get is also highly valuable. The people who tell themselves that Elves can truely outgrind Miracles, are living a lie. Especially against Entreat the Angels.
You can sleep on your 2 ears, I don't think that :) But I think it's a good play (maybe the best play) to remove Top with Toughtseize in the beginning. Obviously, see opponent's hand is good. I'm not saying Thoughtseize is a bad card Vs Miracle, no. I think you can find better.Quote:

Vs Miracle, you go to the late game in each game and in late game Thoughtseize isn't a really good card. When you are in "top deck mode" you don't want to draw Thoughtseize.
I have never say that. :) I think it's a hard match-up that is why I discuss with you for the best sb plan. In your video, you show how it's difficult to be sure of your sb choices. I'm not sure, I discuss. :)Quote:

Just had a pretty insane game3 vs Miracles, so I just had to record it: Check this out!
/Edit: Ops, forgot to make the video public. It's available now!
You can just applaud Nissa :pQuote:
Standing ovation, wow. Nissa ftw double emblem, so epic, did not see that one coming! Julian Knab you are the elvish visionary
Julian, it's the perfect exemple what I said ! It's what I want Vs miracle : Strong card. :) Nice game
Nice one Julian.
Nice Yoshi on the Forests!
Why did the emblems say "Nissa, Vital Force is colorless."?
Wow! Great game, Julian.
The music... amazing!
The great fanfare when you draw Behemoth... :)
In German we say it's better to have the sparrow in your hand than the dove on your roof.
It's because drawing 2 cards this turn + a ton more in future turns is much better than running the huge risk of exposing yourself to Terminus. Snapcaster and Clique were no part of that consideration.
We can talk about keep one 1 Hoof Vs miracle post SB? I side out 2 Behemoth and all NO (obv). Which one set up do you keep Behemoth?
- GSZ for Behemot? No, you don't want over extend (that is why NO aren't good)
- Play Behemot from your hand? No, same.
- When you played a Glimpse for kill in the same turn? Yes, that is why. But it's really necessary? If you draw your deck with glimpse, can you loose without Behemoth? The only one set up is Entreat ott. But you have Decay for tokens (Nissa for decay on graveyard). So keep Behemoth it's not win more? I think.
I've recently started siding out both Behemoth vs Miracles for exactly the reasons you mentioned; especially when I have a LOT of stuff to bring in and really need to make room.
Sometimes I still encoutnered the situation that I'd draw my whole deck but still had to pass the turn, only to run into Terminus and actually end up still losing. Overall, especially with Surgical Extraction int he mix, siding out 2 Hoofs is definitely ok if you're fine with rarely losing to having to pass the turn.
We are ok :)
You can't use Nissa, Vital Force to return Abrupt Decay; the ability is Nature's Spiral, not Regrowth (only works on permanents). (Sorry if I misinterpreted what you said and you meant something else).
Great video Julian!
Amusingly the actor who played Haleth (the boy that Aragorn is talking to when he says 'there is always hope') is also an MTG player; he represented New Zealand at the WMC this year.
I've been having some luck against Legends Miracles siding back in one or two Natural Order and keeping a Hoof in, just because their countermagic is so limited (4 force and flusterstorms out of the board- their MD counter of choice is now spell snare over counterspell/spell pierce if they're copying Losset's 75), with venser coming online turn 4 at the earliest. Any thoughts on if that might be the correct play, or did I just blow out a few opponents who knew that we side out NOs postboard and weren't expecting it?
