I keep trying to convince my crew to try it because multi-player is depressing. All I want to do is feel like I'm actually trying to achieve something rather than Solitairing until someone plays some off the wall Genesis Wave for 47 or some shit.

Do it. Turn Thursday night Wu DH into 1v1 throw down. Everyone pay in for some sweet EDH card as a prize. That isn't foil. And isn't English unless it's beta or Arab. Posting EDH is a solid pain in the ass ... I guess I can post my Maralith.

Good looking decks overall, but IMO those cards should be upgraded to pimper versions:
Brainstorms FNM -> Mercadian Masques FOIL
Burning Wishes JP -> Judgement FOIL
Chrome Mox DCI -> Mirrodin FOIL
Flooded Strand DCI -> Onslaught FOIL
City of Brass MM -> Junior Super Series for FOIL, Arabian Nights for regular
Sensei's Divining Top FTV -> Champions of Kamigawa FOIL

Wow, aren't we mister opinion? I like the b. Wishes and the moxen (have a set myself, like them a lot more). I like the direction onslaught fetches as I like fluidity and since they aren't likely to print old border zen fetches, this is awesome. I prefer the mm CoB, then 8th, then 7th, then AN, and the rest is junk. Duresses are whatever. I don't like any of the art and as a common, who cares? The only people who really care are the ones with 7th ed and that's only because of obvious reasons. Brainstorms are also whatever, mine are Japanese IA Colds nap precons, idk why, I just really like the picture and they spoke to me. The tops are annoying but it doesn't mean that they aren't pimp. Mine are Japanese non-foil and two more English I altered which I also enjoy. Just because you dislike a version doesn't make them "not pimp" or "less pimp" even. Overly critical much?

Yeah, maybe he's overly critical, but still. Storm is like the iconic old-border deck - all spells, no stupid creatures. Hell, half the cards' effects aren't even in the same color anymore! It just seems wrong to try to new-border "pimp" it.

What I wanted to say was that there are much better versions of those cards if we are talking about serious pimping (and not just "don't criticize my cards because I like them!")

Well the edit was a nice touch. This isn't just about "most pimp." Recently an all german/russian nonfoil list was posted and was received warmly. And then this reception. Neither are "most pimped" but one received several positive feedback statements and the other got junked and picked apart immediately. Just looking for a little forgiveness. This thread would get a post a week tops if we had to live up to the standards you just subjected the last deck to. Just saying.

About the german/russian nonfoil list, I think that for people who doesn't like foil but like rare languages, it was really pimp, as those cards are not easy to find, and there was consistency in the deck (all the available russian cards, and the rest in german).

Would you guys consider a totally fucked up burn deck as pimped? I mean: ugliest white board mountains, random Bolts and all cards not better than in "good" condition. I guess I goes into another direction but I think such a deck could also have "style". (List should be nonethless solid and not casual)

It was posted here not long ago... I mean about few hundred pages back. I consider Fat Kid's Sligh a very pimp deck, with only "buried for a month in my backyard" Dredge to be a bit better.

I like this brainstorms cause was the 1st foil I got. I have on MM foil in my vintage deck. (this could be upgraded but are the 4 cards I have played more in my live)

Side borard is not pimp right now. Its on the way, I have the chain of vapors foil but I have not xantids, carpets, massacres, dread of night, decay (62€ for a foil english right now LOL). So I prefered not to show.

I think the pimp depends on what you like. OBV If I wanted to make the most pimp it would be all foil japanese. But prices are too hight.

I think if somebody white bordered acetoned an entire Wal-Mart Burn deck, with Fire and Lightning everything that can be Fire and Lightning'ed. With matching shit Fire and Lightning foil mountains, shitty foil m10 lightning bolts everything, shitty new bordered foil shit for a shit deck. Then put on overalls, threw a dip in, and got some pics ... that would be pimp.

Agree. It also differs by country, I mean good spargel is hard to find in Atlanta ... but probably easy to find in Germany. I also bet a good plate of bbq pulled pork is impossible to get in Munich. I'm sure in Siberia my Russian Signed Emrakuls are blech.

In the US I can just go buy 4 foil Ravnica or hideous Judge Foil Dark Confidants at 10 different sites with a swipe of a card. I can't buy 4 German Dunkler Mittvissers or 4 Russian Confidants signed by Bob Maher and Magic Johnson. But many people think a Foil English Dark Confidant is more pimp than a signed Russian one. I don't. I can have 4 foils in my mailbox in 2 days. Good luck finding the others. It goes beyond aesthetics sometimes and starts to become a dick swinging contest (which incidentally ends when somebody like Occam throws a fistful of Summer duals down). I'd even say japanese foil has become blech SNIP because japanese foil is all over US eBay.

This one is the only truly subjective category IMO. Some dealers do not like them, some do like them. Some people consider signed cards "destroyed" and/or "ugly". Others covet them.
I will not rate them because of that.
Same with altered cards.

Had to add my 2 cents. Bold = where I think it is. strikethrough = where you placed it. Just as a side note I prefer decks that match language and foil / nonfoil. I just wouldn't mix Beta Swords to Plowshares and foil Stoneforge mystic, for example. Make both foil, or none!

Power 9 are all over ebay too so what are you trying to accomplish really? How often can someone afford to pay for a Japanese Foil Polluted Delta? Stop bashing asian foils if you can't afford them and convince people that cheap german/russian cards are uber pimp.

My preference is non foil, black border English, earliest edition. Looks good, new folks can read it, no issues with warping. Sadly those duals are beyond my reach, but it is what it is. Love to see it here.

I am looking for non summer, non guru basics though. Tired of full art. Any suggestions on a basic by basic basis?
