They run too many basics to board LftL in. Also, I personally don't run Goyf. He's good at dying and good at get RIPed. Sometimes RIPs land, but I run 5 ways to destroy it after it hits the field. And Mongoose is still a 1/1 shroud creature. Yeah, it's not that fantastic, but it still gets there at the very end of the game. Also, DRS, doesn't need threshold to be active, and he also beats for one if need be. Oh, I forgot that I board out all Lightning Bolts and run 2 Surgical Extractions as well. Usually, I'll nab Termnius if I can. Or use it in a clutch moment, when they're obviously trying to draw into a Terminus off of a top Activation. It is a very grindy matchup, but I feel like we have better game against MIracles than RUG, and I never felt like RUG's game was that bad.

I agree with TheKingSlayer but I must say that Shaman is at least as good at getting ripped as Goyf. The debate Shaman vs Goyf is not an easy one. Shaman has not a as fast as clock as Goyf but helps in many matchups. But as the number of opposing Shamans has declined Shaman is not as effective on bUrg as he used to be 6 months ago. Shaman is always a removal of an opposing Shaman.

I've had good success against miracles

Spell Snare + Abrupt Decay do a lot of work in the match up
Play your creatures out one at a time to limit the value of Terminus

After some fixing and testing, ill bring this list to my FNM-Legacy Event in my local store today. I'm curious how it will work out, the testing turned out awesome. I cut the Goyfs in favor for Thoughtseize; thus i never had the feeling that i need a big Goyf "right now", was always fast enough (or faster :wink: )

Hey any reason you a play 3 non-blue fetches (Mire) although you have only blue duals? Good luck at your tournament :-)

Mire is a really poor fetchland,you can't even fetch the most important dual - tropical island

They only reason i run them, is because i don't have others at the Moment. Still fetches on 2/3 of the Lands tho, but yeah, the blue Lack is - eh. :rolleyes:

@Kai: How did your small tournament go? What is your most current list?

well,on wednesday i went to a 4-round tournament and just finished with a dissapointing 2:2:0.
1:2 sneakshow (game 2 mull to 6 with no lands but double fow and lost, should have mulliganed it to 5 i guess. g3 my opponent has the nuts with turn 1 defense grid which i counter.he forces back and followes by show into griselthe next turn, well you rarely can stop god hands.)

2:1 deadguy (the mu were 2 rough and 2 charms shines)

2:1 bug control (i played against my good friend eike who is used to play team america usually. we testet the mu german ******** vs bug control and the mu is nearly 70:30 for german ***** so far)

0:2 miracle (this mu is usually on my favour, but this day i lost the die roll, cantripped into nothing almost all the time and let him resolve almost everything so i lost 2 games.the only mu were 2 decays are obviously better than the 2 dismember.

2: 2:0 (5: 6:0 in games, urgh)

yesterday i got a cold and could not join the 5 round tournament unfortunately but here is the list i'm testing this week.

I made a terrible mistake with that stifle sideboarding against Miracle (this was at the end of my post and i wanted to finish fast), and i thank you for your advice.
This certainly undermined my credibility, but please consider the rest of my post.

Concerning Thoughtseize, I read what Sasan wrote about it, and it s completely true. Thoughtseize is not good for tempo. But i take thoughtseize in vs fair decks for 2 reasons :
1. I play the heavy controle deck. I don t care about Tempo (cf D1T). Is my gameplan vs D1T reasonnable ?
2. My opponent runs SfM. Thoughtseize is a Tempo card. They spent their 2nd Turn playing SfM (completely useless on the battlefield) and i just spent 1 mana to counter it.


I think it's more fruitful to talk about something within a gameplan. Yes, thoughtseize is not good for tempo, but if your gameplan isn't about Tempo, then you can think about adding Thoughtseize (we re talking about G2-3 of course)

@list: With only 2 Shamans I think that you could run RUG Delver instead. The 2 Shamans rarely come in early game. I think we must play 3 or 0 Shamans.
