First match was the best, last match was the worst. To clarify, control deck require patience, Ein was being patient. As soon as Ein left, MTGO timer pressure kicks in and impatience begins.
Did Tomas ever explain the logic behind floating 1 and 2 when both Miracles players have CB-T in play game 1?
I really hope the VOD is up soon, as I'm very interested to watch Ein playing "from the driver's seat".
I can't speak for Tomas but you don't want to have to flip your top if your opponent has CB-T in play g1. It represents a serious loss in card quality, as you can basically bet on never getting a top in play again. Their/your only real out to it is Entreat, Jace, or CJ. You want to be able to counter their cantrips that find them their answers, as well as be able to hit Snap and Counterspell to help fight through your CJ or wincon and disallow them to gain a clock, and the one drop can hit swords to prevent them from removing your Snap if you happen to get one down for whatever reason.
The VODs will be up on itsJulian.com on Thursday morning.

The hype has officially escalated to a religious fervor...
I can't even remember the last time I didn't top 8 a legacy local event with Miracles, though I only play on paper every few weeks. Even on Modo I've topped at least half of the few dailies I've entered. Miracles is just far and beyond the best deck, regardless of what you run in it. You can screw up top activations, miracle a volcanic island you thought was Entreat, and still end up smashing your poor opponent that showed up with no Sensei's Tops.
I remember when I wen X-1 in games, splitting with my partner in the finals. I would race to see if I could kill people with Entreat before they decked after I Ultimated a Jace. This deck is way too good. I'm currently looking at this:
4 Top
4 Balance
3 Snap
2 Jace
4 Storm
4 Ponder
4 Swords
2 Counterspell
3 Force
4 Terminus
4 Dig
1 Entreat
2 Plains
4 Island
1 Mesa
4 Strand
1 Delta
4 Tarn
3 Tundra
2 Volc
Board
3 REB
2 Fluster
1 Counterspell
1 Judgement
1 Wear/Tear
1 Verdict
1 Force
1 Relic
3 Clique
1 Keranos
I would like to fit the second Entreat into the board. This deck will probably never work online, because it plays 3 Win conditions in G1.
I find the following odd, does anyone here have an explanation?
http://www.twitch.tv/scglive/b/642193637?t=5h49m50s From the Twitch recording of the Invitational, BBD clearly runs a kind of Ponder Miracles list, but he V. Clique game One! Then the next day in the Legacy IQ, BBD Top 8 with this list: http://sales.starcitygames.com//deck...p?DeckID=81995
It's unlikely these lists are the identical 75. I wonder what did he change from Invitational to IQ.
Interestingly, that on camera match was the Only match in which Miracles won, out of all the on camera matches featuring Miracles that weekend.
IIRC he ran a bunch of bodies and had like 1 Entreat main, 1 side or so.
i believe his main was the standard 60 for 4 ponder miracles, but -1 snap, -1 eta, +2 clique. his sideboard was a bit different.
Hello everyone,
Thought I would share an experience I had playing against a new (to me) type of Miracles deck not long ago. From what I could tell it looked more or less like below:
Exploring Miracles
4-Flooded Strand
4-Misty Rainforest
2-Windswept Heath
3-Tundra
3-Tropical Island
4-Island
2-Plains
1-Karakas
4-Exploration
4-Brainstorm
4-Sensei's Divining Top
2-Dig through Time
3-Entreat the Angels
3-Jace, the Mind Sculptor
4-Swords to Plowshares
3-Terminus
1-Supreme Verdict
4-Counterbalance
2-Counterspell
4-Force of Will
SB:
3-Wasteland
2 or 3-Life from the Loam
2 or 3-Krosan Grip
1 or 2-Gutteral Response
X-"usual suspects" (Vendilion Clique, Entreat the Angels, etc.)
I bring this up because it seemed very powerful, and capable of effectively addressing some of Miracles' few troublesome matchups. I was playing Shardless BUG, a deck which I am fairly competent at and typically find the Miracles matchup to be favorable.
Not so versus this build. He stomped me 2-0 by getting an early Exploration followed by a fast and lethal Entreat the Angels game 1, and game 2 quickly locked me out by combining the Explorations with Life from the Loam and Wasteland brought in from the side. Afterwards we played a couple more games for fun (still time left on the clock (!)), and I never felt like I had much of a chance.
Perhaps more tellingly, another person at the tournament playing 12Post also lost against this build.
Have any of the experienced Miracles players on this thread seen or experimented with a build like this? Curious to hear your thoughts and/or experiences, as I am slowly building and learning how to play the Miracles archetype...
As promised, here's the link to videos of the the Legacy Daily Event Philipp Schönegger and I played with Miracles a couple of days ago.
i saw a similar list on MTGO, and mentioned it a few pages back. the green splash definitely helps with our worst matchups, but giving up red is huge in the mirror. while you gain k-grip to deal with resolved counterbalances, you are extremely weak to jace without red blast.
What's the scariest card miracles can face post-SB?
Why in the world would you play Gutteral Response over Dispel? (neither are suitable replacements for REB)
4 dig and 3 snap? This seems like it's waaaay too greedy with the graveyard. Also playing that many dig and snap means rest in piece is no longer a sideboard option. Also DTT is a terrible flip to top randomly and will very rarely counter a card as not many 8 cmc cards see play these days.
