I don't think the dealers actually expect to get that for the card. You have to haggle. I think they set the high price to scare off people who aren't serious about buying Power.
On the flip side, I also see dealers who don't price their Power and expect the buyer to negotiate. This works similar to overpricing the Power - if someone isn't serious about buying the Power, they probably won't even talk about it to find out where the starting point is for negotiations.

That's absurd. I picked up a beta jet for a hundred less. It's a little beat but seriously WTF.

I got a pearl, emerald, jet and a library for $1100. So I'm not sure what the shakedown was. I still need a ruby, sapphire and lotus before gencon. If I can't find a really beat lotus I may just get a beat to hades UL and get it altered.

I think that if he spent the money on the power, he has the right to do whatever he wants with it. I just recently completed my set of power, and while I have no desire to have it altered, if I did, I would want to i think that I should be able to do what I want with it.

The eBay link shows a Fraternal Exaltation, which is a much bigger deal than mere Power 9.

It also shows a Splendid Genesis next to it. Another thing I noticed is that the altered Trop pictured on that page looks just like this one that is also on eBay. A lot of the cards don't look quite right.

I feel bad now...I didn't even notice the two Garfield cards or the altered Tropical (which is, ironically, the same fashion my Unlimited duals are being altered into).

That stack of what looks like graded cards looks like they are just printouts; the cases don't seem to have enough depth to be 3D.

I actually had a 4th Tundra and a complete set of Seas, but unfortunately I sold/traded them. Never had Volcanics, so I usually just play some sort of Bant deck.
