Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I've noticed a trend where a lot of the decks that run both counter and discard (bug, esperblade etc.) are running significantly more counterspells (mostly Flusterstorm and Swan Song from the SB) and less discard. Because of this I find that Leyline has gotten a lot worse and doesn't help you as much as it should.
Would it be better to simply run more 1-mana counterspell in the board to go along with your Defense Grids or will the heavy discard matchups (ANT, Shardless, Jund, Reanimator) just get too risky?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Since you're running the underground already, you could potentially put a snuff out or submerge into the sb for some g1 anti creature hate to help out vs a t1 delver.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Came across this quote from an old thread on Dream Halls. Thought it rather appropriate, given the way things turned out.

Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I cut the Leylines. I play diverts in the side now vs discard decks. The idea came from Luudes and it's pretty sweet. Plus I run flusterstorms main so fighting discard is better. Sumberge seems too narrow. If I ever wanted point removal it would be pongify/rapid hybridization or black pact. Snuff out is good just not in this dek imo. Life here really matters sometimes. Massacre does the same and you don't pay with life.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Recently got together the cards for this deck. What decks does it prey on? What decks are hard to beat with it? Looking at the results from GP-Paris, how do you guys feel about MonoU OmniTell?

I actually shelved the deck recently. Maybe my playgroup has adjusted to the deck and some of them are graveyard based decks.
This deck is weak to graveyard based decks as most would just sandbag a griselbrand/ iona(blue)/ashen rider and just wait for the tell. If you have cunning wish you may be able to wish for an answer to their creature but doing this means that our 3 card combo just turned into a 4card one.
Currently looking for a playset of volcanic islands and try out the sneak show build since i feel this is the better show deck. sad.."(

Unless the opponent prepares for omni, u can beat these decks easily.

Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Well honestly death and taxes can be problematic even if your opponent isn't prepared for you - it simply kills combos pretty easily. About the uwr their Meddling Mages can also be tough but we have some solutions so after all it's not that bad :)
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Random question time:
Is there any consensus on the proper number of lands maindeck (19 or 20)?
How important is the fourth Cunning Wish?
Anybody else finding Intuition in the maindeck to be too slow?
Does anyone have suggestions on how to improve the Delver matchup? Perhaps I've been unlucky lately, but Im struggling with T2 Delver flips supported by an uncannny amount of counter magic and hatebears.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Grats to these guys for their GP paris results.
19 GHERBEZZA, Romain [FRA] Omni-Tell 36 668984%
62 Penedo de Saa, Rubén [ESP] Omni-Tell 33 609312%
Would be interesting to see their decklists

I personally am shelving this deck for a moment while waiting for my sneaks and trops. With the decline of hatebears and dnt due to tnn, sneak and show is just plain than omnitell. Less combo pcs, more counterspells and A turn faster imo.

Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I agree that the decline in hatebears due to TNN makes this deck not as good of a metagame call. Someone asked about matchups and a reply said that DnT was a bad matchup. I strongly disagree and can remember losing only once to the deck due to mulligans and 1 landers; I have played the matchup around 10 times in local tournaments. Omni is much better against DnT than sneak and show. I dont think Spirit does anything to help the TNN matchup so if DnT is at a lower percentage in your meta then sneak attack may be the enchantment of choice. However, if miracles becomes very prevalent then omni may be better again (with d grid in the board).

My mistake.") I meant omni is much better than sneak and show against DNT and i completely agree.") But with the decline of DNT due to the TNN hate. Most would rather play sneak and show in this meta.")

Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Omni is better against d&t than sneak show - true I agree. But I can't agree with the part about d&t matchup being not so bad for us. I've been playing this matchup countless times now and it sure can be painfull and tough (if you're facing an experiened player - even more). It's not like we win almost every game like you mentioned (1 loss every 10 games) too. Judging from my experience sure it's winnable but not that strongly favorable for us I would say.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Someone knows the decklist of the Drew´s Levin "Omni-Gifts"?
I will play the deck now, I think is better than sneak and show and vs miracles and vs "all the aggro" aka "Nocountersdeck".
Onmitell combo dosnt die vs a karakas vs an emrakul... its true that the spirit of the labyrint is soo good vs this deck but atm they are playing 1-off in DaT
Regards!
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Really no one has no access to the Levin's list from scg premium?
