are you planing to cut the regal force for the second creterhoof?
I have Hardcast Pro once. Only once. I had a field full of elves and was facing down a possible top deck wipe. So I went all out to cast him. The guy gave in the moment he hit the table. The thing is, I think 9 times out of 10 if you can hardcast Pro, you are is a very strong position to start with and could likely close out the game by just pure Aggro.
Hardcasting Pro?
Shit.
Achievement points for you pal.
I have hardcast a Progenitus before...
After having my hardcast Craterhoof countered...and resolving a NO only to realize that I boarded out my second Hoof.
You can read all about it here.

I think ill cut (or move to the board) the warcaller for Hoof. Right now ill leave the double ancestral recall in the main. sometimes a few more Cards is what i need to combowin. or whatever.

SCG articles are no longer premium after a month, so everyone can reid duke's legacy report on 1st place with elves
http://www.starcitygames.com/article...1st-Elves.html
Top 8'ed a 60 people event today with elves.
Apart from the core cards i played with 4 Natural Orders,2 craterhoof, 3 quirion ranger, 2 birchlore rangers and 2 llanowar elves. 19 lands (4 cradle, 1 arbor,2 forests, 9 fetches, 2 bayou 1 savannah). Couldn't decide myself about the dilemma birchlore vs llanowar so i opted for a split, and it felt nice.
Sideboard:
-4 cabal therapy
-2 thorn of amethyst
-2 abrupt decay
-1 krosan grip
-1 scavenging ooze
-1 choke
-1 progenitus
-1 ruric thar
-1 gaddock teeg
-1 qasali pridemage
Brief report:
Match 1 vs OmniTell 2-0. Game 1 i win turn 2 with behemoth, Game 2 i set up a mini combo turn 2 that ended up with a cabal therapy that ripped two omniscience from his hand and with a natural order for ruric thar. Feels good to race show and tell :)
Match 2 Esperblade 2-1. I lose a very close game 2 then win game 3 although he makes me discard a natural order and a glimpse. I just beat with dudes and when he lands jitte i have a symbiote.
Match 3 Miracle 0-2. Nothing to say, i feel that this matchup is winnable only with the help of gods(maybe nylea), and it's the reason sometimes i'm unsure about playing elves in tournaments.
Match 4 Canadian 2-0, game 1 i combo off turn 2, game 2 is grindy and after he trades two 1/1 nimble mongooses with my nettle sentinel (my only creature left with one card in hand) i zenith for ooze and start eating creatures for the win.
Match 5 Canadian 2-0, game 1 i manage to natural order thanks to a topdecked cradle, game 2 he counters my natural order but next turn i drop choke and he can't do anything aside swinging with a goyf that i chumpblock with elves+symbiote.
Match 6 against Dredge. Draw into top 8.
Top 8 Omnitell 0-2. The same guy i faced the first turn , he wants revenge and he earns it because this time he comboes off turn two both games like i did in the swiss. I also mull to 5 game 2 and see no hate so the game wasn't even close.
Elves got 15th at the 2013 SCG Legacy Open in Milwaukee

@leocop
i don't understand your strategy on g2\3 versus canadian . You keep natural order main deck on g2 : really ? Natural never resolves with pierce FoW and daze. Prefer playing decay and ooze and out 3 NO and 1 behe (running 2)
Someone else got the same strategy ? Explain me
I too would keep NO in, perphaps as 3 -off. when ur doin shenanigans, you have the mana.
also, if they whipe ur board, untapping in midtgame and NO is sweet.
The plan against Canadian (and against a lot of other decks) is to play so much bombs that they can't counter everything. As you can see once my opponent did counter natural order, but then he faced Choke on the following turn. If not a Choke, it could have been a glimpse of nature.
The risk against canadian is just to be starved on mana because they can stifle your fetchland, kill an early mana dork and then profit with daze. This can happen because we run few lands... but if we manage to assemble a good amount of mana, i don't think canadian is a bad matchup.
So, I guess the general consensus is that Natural Order >>>>> Beck//Call?
What about some weird engine like the interaction between Forbidden Orchard and Beck//Call
Played in a tournament yesterday — hilarity ensued!
It was round 3, we were both 2-0 and I had our local Storm Trooper sitting down across the table. He was on the play, mulled down to 6 and kept. Knowing that a slow hand is not gonna get there, especially not against the discard out of ANT, I mull 4 lands, 2 DRS and NO.
Down to 6 spells.
Down to 5 spells.
Down to 3 Spells and a Cradle.
So I sadly go down to this: Deathrite Shaman,Green Sun's Zenith,Elvish Visonary.
Turn1 he Probes me with mana and passes. I draw Wooded Foothills, run out a Bayou and the DRS, the pass the turn.
He does some more cantripping with Probe and Ponder, then passes.
I draw a Forest for the turn, play the Visionary and pass. More Cantrips out of ANT.
On my 3rd turn I GSZ=1 for Heritage Druid. He mainphase Brainstorms on his turn, then plays a Fetchland and passes.
I rip Natural Order like a champ but have to tap all my Elves for it, still Behemoth gets in for 8, putting him down to 9 while threatening 8 damage on the next turn (Behemoth+Visionary+DRS activation).
He plays another Ponder, then cracks his Fetchland (going down to 8), plays Brainstorm.....AND SCOOPS IT UP!
Won against ANT on turn 4 after a mulligan to 3 on the draw....made my fucking day
May I suggest an Ezuri, Renegade Leader? A recent build of Chris Anderson had an Ezuri, a Hoof and a Regal Force. Currently I'm running these finishers myself. The good thing about Ezuri vs Warcaller is that you can GSZ for him and overrun. Fact is, for the same mana you can fetch a Hoof, but there are definately times that you do'nt have 8 mana, and if your Ezuri sticks, you basicly win next turn.
I'm doubting though: 1 Ezuri, 2 Hoof might be better. Including bad memories of a game loss where I drew a card too much... You sure as hell don't get that without Regal Force in your deck.
Also. Sideboard-question: 4 Dread Of Night? Scared vs. Bondes Death & Texas or what else would you use them for?
Duke wanted afterwards to play with:
http://8e8460c4912582c4e519-11fcbfd8...ulSabotage.jpg
Because he faced an Affinity deck in the swiss. Now I've seen decks running
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers...4029&type=card
for that. But I'm I so smart or something? 'Cause this one is better imho:
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers...3410&type=card
Destroying all 0cc artifacts for 1GG? I'd rather cast that in that case! Heck and even if you destory artifacts which cost mana to cast, it's still like a Mass Swords To Plowshares vs Affinity!
1st card. Not Sold
2nd card. Negative Ghost Rider. Negative Fly By
3rd Card? HOLY SHIT! The affinity match up just became fun. Getting rid of lands, creatures and such? FUCK YEAH!
I think that Corrosion is better. We can make that extra mana with ease and not handing over a mass of life helps us if we have to go full beatdown for whatever reason. (Esperblade for example.)
To provide a bit more of explanation, Affinity is too fringe of a matchup to actually directly account for in the sideboard.
What Gleeful Sabotage is for is an additional way to hit Enchantments, especially the cmc>3 ones. It's also a nice workaround for Counterbalance. The main downside however, is the Sorcery speed which has sometimes been an issue for me during testing.
Have you guys ever tested against Affinity? It's basically a bye. We already have Abrupt Decay in the SB and some people are playing Viridian Shaman. That's good enough. There's no need to dig up some random green hatecards from a bygone era.
While that may be true, Elves was the flavor of the week at that time. So from an business standpoint it made sense to capitalise on that and charge for the article. Also that was no new information for US. But if your a common visitor to this site you are unlikely to need to pay SCG for info anyway.
If you think Seeds of Innocence is fun at 3 mana,
Check out this card:

But really, Viridian Shaman is more than enough to turn that around, as danyul pointed out.

If birchlore comes out in every dtb and natural order comes in wouldn't main decking the fourth order be a reasonable change? Possibly adding the second arbor to the board
i would definatly keep birchlore in, when boarding decay. sometimes that Black mana it produces is just what you need.
I've talked about 4 NO and Progenitus main before. Look how often you side Progenitus in....
Progenitus is just GG against a wider % of the field than Ruric is. Simple decision...
And with Progenitus main the preconditions to cast NO are less difficult making 4 the correct choice. Random Archdruid is also an easy cut and you even get another sideboard slot for a high impact card out of the deal.
Backup-Archdruid = Elvish Training-Wheels?!
If you are playing against combo, you should not side out any 1cc creatures. Not a single one.
I've been going with -3 Visionary, -1 Shaman, -1 Symbiote, -1 Heritage/Birchlore (+4 Therapy, +2 Thorn. I run Teeg+Ruric main, so swap them in if you don't.) and have been doing quite well.
I usually take out Multani's Acolyte, Crop Rotation and X or Y card that is less important for that specific matchup.
Im not scared of going over 60 tho.
