Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I mean... this is a pretty standard list. I'm not really sure what you're after here. Some people play fewer Gitaxian Probes (or Preordains) in favor of a Flusterstorm or two. You're not using the Firemind's Foresight tech so no need for a 2-drop in the main. I play Flusterstorms with no Pact main since I no longer have the Trickbind main (useful with Firemind's Foresight and for shutting off Counterbalance the turn you go off, but found it a bit too narrow and have replaced it with an Echoing Truth), but 1 Pact main is probably fine. Wipe Away or Echoing Truth are almost certainly better than Boomerang.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
The plan here is to add one more PoN and -1 Gitaxian Probe. I agree with the Boomerang, it's not good... Should I try with Wipe Away, for sure, split second is a big deal!
I would like flusters, but for now I have to adapt to my wallet/pocket :__
My meta is full of UWR delver, RUG, BUG, some goblins, burn and maverick, fair decks. The only combo decks I saw were sneak n show and I think Omni-tell is better when playing against. Should I play something different main to battle them? And what about daze?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
At some point you'll have to adapt. 6 counters main is too low. Blue based tempo will eat you. Daze here is terrible. Also I always like to have counters or preordain than gitaxian probe. Trickbind is good, really good if they try to o-ring, d.sphere, venser you etc. It's a very good target for c.wish especially if you already have omni in play. About bounce: I prefer wipe away over all other bounces because of split second. Just play the deck and adapt to your meta. You'll see what you need more, which things work for you and which do not.

I will add 2 PoN and -1 Probe and -1 Preordain... Sapphire charm is worth it?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Has anyone here tested Boseiju? It was something that occurred to me playing against miracles in SCG Seattle after seeing a hand of counterspell, pierce, 2 flusterstorm, and snapcaster
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I would cut probes not preordain. Sapphire charm was never sweet to me but some say it's good.
Boseiju is good but only vs miracles, it's too narrow. Well vs this kind of hand you have defense grids :)
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Boseju can be target of wasteland... Enters the battlefield tapped so it can't be used the same turn you put it in play. I don't really see it MD or SB. About matchups against counters, defense grid is awesome, I will play with 3 in my SB!
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Hi,
Just in the process of putting this deck together, looking to build the following list:
Main -
Creatures (1):
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
Enchantments (7):
3 Dream Halls
4 Omniscience
Instants (14):
3 Cunning Wish
3 Pact of Negation
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
Sorceries (19):
3 Gitaxian Probe
4 Enter the Infinite
4 Ponder
4 Preordain
4 Show and Tell
Lands (19):
3 Ancient Tomb
3 Misty Rainforest
4 Scalding Tarn
9 Island
Side -
Artifacts (3):
3 Defense Grid
Enchantments (4):
4 Leyline of Sanctity
Instants (8)
1 Eladamri's Call
1 Intuition
1 Pact of Negation
1 Release the Ants
1 Rushing River
1 Sapphire Charm
1 Slaughter Pact
1 Trickbind
Just wondering if anything needs to be added or removed here, are Intuitions main worthwhile? And dropping either a Pact or Gitaxian Probe from the main?
Thanks
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I love having just 1 in the SB but none in the MD... They are too slow I think, I would prefer just +1 Cunning Wish jto have 4, but I need to test it.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I recently had a chance to play physical magic and sleeved up this:
4 Show and Tell
4 Dream Halls
4 Omniscience
4 Cunning Wish
1 Intuition
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Preordain
1 Duress
2 Pact of Negation
4 Flusterstorm
1 Trickbind
4 Polluted Delta
4 Flooded Strand
6 Island
1 Underground Sea
3 Ancient Tomb
1 City of Traitors
with the following sideboard:
1 Firemind's Foresight
1 Intuition
1 Research // Development
1 Laboratory Maniac
1 Trickbind
1 Pact of Negation
1 Slaughter Pact
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Wipe Away
3 Thoughtseize
2 Toxic Deluge
1 Swamp
I played a Duress maindeck as I didn't have access to 4 Pact of Negation. It would be a 3rd Pact of Negation if I would have had it. The Intuition hasn't been cast in 6 months and I think I'm going to cut it for something.
I played 4 rounds at a local event in Chicago, going 4-0 against Esper Deathblade (Flusterstorm/Meddling Mage sb plan), BUGr Delver (Delver, Nimble Mongoose, DRS, Force, Pierce, Stifle, Daze, Waste, Bolt, Pyroblast, Flusterstorm, Surgical that I saw), W/b Death and Taxes, and Burn w/Pyroblast+Ashen Riders.
Toxic Deluge was sick. I brought it in against Esper Deathblade, Death and Taxes and as a 1-of against Delver. It let me beat a board of 2x Meddling Mage (SnT + Wish) via Dream Halls + Enter the Infinite into it. It wiped the board against DnT and it was a very good Hymn to Tourach against Delver (threatened to wipe his board). I might consider bringing in both against Delver decks next time.
I'm not sure what the card is that will replace Intuition. I'm leaning toward a Dread of Night as extra insurance vs hatebears, but I could see that slot wanting to be Duress or Emrakul.
Had a good time at Dice Dojo, would definitely recommend it if you'r'e in Chicago. Shout out to JACO for loaning me the deck and driving me.

Great result!! But haven't you had problems against wasteland? I think that having only one black resource was maybe too short...
I tried with Thoughtseise and they were awesome, But I found myself wanting more deck manipulation.

No. I have 8 fetches and 6 basic islands. Postboard, the only time I need black, I have a 20th land (a basic swamp) giving me a total of 10 black sources for my 6-7 spells. I'm playing as many or more fetches+basics than basically any other deck with at least 16 lands (only losing out to stuff like high tide in this department).
When do you need more than 12 cantrips? 12 cantrips with the redundancy the deck provides has been pretty good to me over the last year.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
How has the no FoW package been working out for you?
It seems like it changes the approach to be more aggressive, is that your preffered style? I feel more exposed without them because I can't counter hate bears, sneak attack, counterbalance, top etc, but I could be using them as a crutch.

And two questions from me:
1. Why lab man kill? Emmy/ants seems to be better imo
2. Why t.deluge above massacre? It sounds extremely and almost uncastable against d&t

I've been playing Lab Man + R&D since before this deck was public. It is the hardest to disrupt kill and occupies the fewest slots necessary while being a guaranteed kill. It also functions purely off Dream Halls if necessary. It also allows me to play 0 maindeck slots devoted to my kill condition. I kill you incidentally after drawing my deck and not drawing dead cards like Emrakul is nice. If I'm going to play situational cards, I'd like them to have a high impact in my difficult matchups. This is the reason I'm okay playing a maindeck Trickbind but eschew Emrakul. For what it's worth, this is also why I'm playing 4 Flusterstorm.
I'm consistently able to cast Toxic Deluge against Death and Taxes. I've also cast it against RUG Delver, UWR Delver, Elves, Goblins, Bant, and Maverick on mtgo. Several of those other decks play Gaddock Teeg or won't consistently have Plains. For that matter, in a lot of games against D&T, they aren't necessarily required to put Plains in play.

I don't really miss Force of Will. You didn't really want to cast it very often. It hurts a little (not having Force) when you're playing vs UR or RUG since Flusterstorm requires a mana, but you can swing it most of the time due to the extra card in hand going to something worthwhile. Flusterstorm is also extremely good against cards like Thoughtseize, Hymn to Tourach, and combo decks. Having a package of Flusterstorm + Thoughtseize is extremely powerful when facing opposing combo decks, a matchup that has been very troublesome for an otherwise slow SnT variant.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Could I ask, does anyone still put opponents on the draw as Lejay suggests in the primer?

I used to...but I learned the hard way game 1 when their 1st turn is a turn 1 kill or thoughtseizing my show and tell. Id rather play first and use the open mana to brainstorm my outs to my library when they uae discards against me.

Never again T.T
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
What are your current thoughts about the idea of always being on the draw, Lejay? Also, emildn, since you've just posted a very respectable finish with the deck?
