Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
Write in for emidln.
He is very slow to write/update his primers, but is certainly 1 of the most innovative and skilful deck builders.
His work on both the stax and storm archetypes has been a pleasure to read.

Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
Wow...Cavius the Great? Which deck did he make that even T8'd once at a major tournament?

You mean swarmyard + changling stompy? Sure, but you could call it goat stompy and it wouldn't make much more difference.

I Top8'ed at a tournament with Enchantress Bloom in a 22 person tournament. I do better than half the people mocking me.

Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
I had to vote for "The Source user formly known as Wastedlife" (not sure what he decide his name is now). It's the whole team thing plus TES gets alot of play.

Criticizing others is a form of insecurity. And you guys are "brimming" with it.

Seriously. I found Pedro severely lacking in political experience, to be honest.
And I'll reiterate here that we weren't just poking fun at Cavius. He just happened to be the deckbuilder on the Source that people would be most surprised at winning. The joke is on everyone else.
And apparently it's the gift that keeps on giving.

As long as we're pulling out our ePeens here, I day two'd an 893-man tournament on the back of a 7-2 record with CounterSliver in a Legacy where Flash was legal.
Pipe down.

No I hate people who talk the shit that they are amazing at a game called Magic: The Gathering and play fucking scrubs all day long at 22 people or less local tournaments. For Christ sake we have an ADEPT claiming he is unbeaten in 70+ matches (which he may be) but who fucking cares? If you are not playing against quality competition it doesn't mean shit. Go to the bigger tournaments in (Cuse, Mass, VA) where quality competition exists, do well, then talk shit. I have played shitty decks to success at local 12-20 man tournaments (Elephant Graveyard.dec anyone?) but you don't see me putting Creator of shit.dec in my sig do you? There is a lot of people on this forum who just love to suck each other's cocks because they came up with this deck, that deck, they are an adept, mod, admin, or whatever. Don't let it go to your head.

Congrats at beating some scrubs.
Afro is right though, thread over.

Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
If you have to defend a claim of being good at Magic, you aren't.

Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
Not that I really care, though maybe in the past I might have, but...
How many players (obviously not in the U.S. because no one here plays anything I invent) Top 8'd in foreign countries with U/W/b Fish when I brought it into Legacy existance? With exact decklist copies half the time, mind you. Not that it matters but Fish also Top 8'd (though I realize it was due to Flash) the most recent GP in the last few years with the EXACT same MD that I had listed but with a slightly different SB. How many players Top 8'd in foreign countries with B/w/g Deadguy Rock, half the time with exact decklist copies?
I'm not saying I've impacted the format heavier than other players (because obviously I haven't), especially given the fact that I've only played in 3 tournaments in my whole life and I haven't really done anything with magic in like a year, BUT... it's kinda sad that I didn't even get mentioned at all. Though, I completely understand why, since the foreign (mainly the Germans, I believe) metagames and decks that shape them aren't as acknowledged on the Source. I just wanna put on the record that alot of those German tournaments had HUGE showings, btw (like 50+ easy).
And yea, I realize this whole thing was a joke... but that's not the point. I stop posting for a while and then I become completely forgotten. :(
EDIT: I didn't read the all the pages before I actually posted... and now that I've actually skimmed through them all, I actually feel RETARDED for even posting in this thread. Whatever, I'm not deleting what I posted.

Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
I don't know whether to be upset or honored that I wasn't nominated.

Re: The Most Influential Legacy Deck Builder Contest
I top-8ed at a 23 man tourney with Merfolks last week, can I have a cookie too?

You may have been it's most vocal supporter, but UWB fish's creation was always in contention.
It actually turned up at a UK tournament slightly before you made your 1st post about it, so I never actually saw you as the creator and thus invalidated from " deck builder".
Your work afterwards was actually really good untill you left, but you have to remember while thesource has made dramatic improvements to it's foreign policy, it is still an American site with largely Ammerican audience.
If there ever was a real poll of influential European players, I'm sure yourself and Eldarial would be on it, along with a lot of German players.

I really didn't put too much thought into the choices of the poll. Hell, I included OTHER in a contest with a prize. Anyone have Other's addres?

I'm just going to put it out there that if you had a problem at any point with not being on this list, you probably have an ego problem.

Fuck off JP. I'm amazing.
@ Hanni - Remember that time Wizards printed Tarmogoyf and completely invalidated your fish deck? That was hilarious.
