I bought the Shadowrun deck building game I demoed, that beat Volc, and some stuff for old school. There were some $2500 beat seas, but SCG has dragged them to like 4 events now and I think they are overpriced. But with paper sanctioned vintage so infrequent it would be idle mostly, and I've got a CE set for loan in proxy events. On the ferrin' front there just isn't anything, maybe korean Show and Tells, but I'll likely never play that card unless it's Eureka 5-6. So now it's mostly about getting stuff signed, and hanging out with people I don't get to see very often and getting drunk and eating food. This year was great because I caught Paolo, Richard Thomas and Matt Wilson who are usually pretty busy at Gencon.
The last two times we've gone to GenCon, we've spent way more time at the zoo, Children's Museum, etc. than at GC itself, largely because there isn't as much I am interested in, Magic-wise, so we just use it as a vacation and hang with our friends that live in Indy.
Oh, and thanks for torturing me; I am currently on a clear liquids only diet, since I have a procedure tomorrow, and seeing your food pics really felt great!

Foil Sinkhole is way worse than ABU Sinkhole.

I would go for Alpha Sinkhole, simply because of the better Artwork (and it is Alpha :D ).

Picked up two of the sweetest basics around, one for collection purposes, one for potential use in my storm deck. Stay tuned, will post pics.

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
I'm about to kick off my journey into pimped out, foiling where possible, themed deck. I've got a few ideas of where I want to go, and I'm wondering if there's a good site where I can view *all* permutations of card including different arts, promo versions, and languages. Vendor sites are hard because they really only show what they have in stock, and a lot of times they don't even have pictures of the foreign cards.
I'm playing esper thopters and think it would be funny to go with a 'Superior German Engineering' theme, but there are lots of options out there and want to make my complete list of wants before I start picking up random cards.
And in the same vein, where do people get foreign cards from? I know there are some foreign card FB groups, is that a good spot, or are there some specific foreign vendors that are common (and good) to deal with?

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
Facebook and large events are really the only places I find things anymore.

Good Luck. I haven't seen German bronze signed Dazes anywhere on Earth.

This is like some innocent looking girl, telling me she wants me to spank her and rough her up.... but not right now.

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
hotlikedimes, your best bet is one of the groups on Facebook. Most of the sellers also sell on ebay or have plenty of good references. If theu don't have what you need, many will also act as a proxy for Magic Card Market, which has a lot of foreign cards, but only is available to those in the EU.

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
Long time Legacy player here, but just recently decided to start "pimping" out some of my Legacy decks. Here is my foil RUG Delver:

I still have a long way to go with getting original foil versions of cards and some black bordered duals, but at least its foiled.

You're showing off a foil Crush of Wurms. A foil Crush of Wurms. The card that shaped my childhood career. In foil. In a deck.
If that's not pimp, I don't know what is. I am legitimately all sorts of fanboy for Crush of Wurms.

+1. Sweet, sweet nostalgia. I used to crush my friends from school so much with it they asked for it to be removed from the deck.

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
Glad you guys like it. I guess the next quest is to get it all signed.
-
Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
Man you guys aren't going to like this deck. English only, foil promo where possible. Modern border where possible. Now to get the rest of the deck signed.

Take a broom, you replace the handle and later you replace the brush, and you do that over and over again, do you still have the same broom? Well the same theory applies to this deck. At one point this was the first deck I built back in 05. Back then my goal was to use llanowar elves and fyndhorn elves to accelerate into that foil Thorn Elemental that came in the 7th edition starter deck. Later I used Wirewood Channelers to make massive Consume Spirits. Around Lorwyn I went with Elvish Champion/Imperious Perfect/Gaea's Anthem/Wilt-leaf liege. I've streamlined this deck quite a bit and it's a ton of fun to play.

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
Hello everyone, this is my pet deck for Legacy, which is an Enchantress. I've played with it for so long and still have so much fun playing it. :) I don't really have any foils as I am just not a huge fan of those, and not really into any foreign cards either, and I don't like my stuff signed. But I'm really proud of it and I play it with pride. :)

And this is my playmat, I don't know if anyone will recognize or know the value of this thing.
Most people don't even know its valuable. :)

They're 5th edition. Brainstorm wasn't in 4th, and 4th was BB in Korean. A single copy went for $90 on eBay auction, with playsets at $160 and $240.
That said, those are certainly Chinese. Not as valuable, but still rare.

T-Chi would be cheaper than Korean but S-Chi (which has expansion symbol that all other languages in 5th lack) is actually harder to find than Korean.
Edit: There used to be a bunch Korean BS on MKM but someone bought them all. Massive spike incoming...

It's such a shame UG madness isn't available in modern. It seems like the perfect home for the deck and people would go nuts. Even just having the core pieces would be awesome.
Great looking deck!

Simplified Chinese 5th was printed after the release of 5th edition, this was the first time the two dialects were printed in tandem. There's no real information on size of print runs (that I'm aware of) but one could extrapolate by the re-release of Korean in M12 and it's subsequent shortage from being printed after the initial release of M12 that S-Chinese is indeed more rare than Korean 5th. It's not as impossible to find though and it doesn't seem to really carry a premium over other 5th edition languages.
