Siding against Reanimator is amazing because you can bring in basically anything and it's good. GY hate? Good. Show n Tell hate? Good. REB? Good. Weirding? Good. Stingscourger? Good. Thalia? Good. Chalice of the Void? Good. Earwig Squad? Good. Discard? Good. Counters? Good. Just shuffle in your whole sideboard, then take all the artifact hate and Pyrokinesis out. Done.Quote:

My thoughts of the last few pages discussions... (remember this are just my thoughts, not the TRUTH TO FOLLOW)
Krenko, Mob Boss Vs Siege-Gang Commander: They are both great, but depends on the current state of the game. If we suffered a board wipe Siege-Gang Commander will be the perfect tool to have, but having a 4mc that can put a bunch of goblins is also great when we have a bunch of Goblins on table. I played both (now playing Krenko), and there are games that i just wanted to have Siege because of his ability or just because they did a board wipe, but many times a 4mc is just so perfect, because you can vial in at the same cmc with a ringleador or a tuktuk scraper without ticking more our vial. After playing a bunch of games with krenko i am changing for Siege, and i'm doing so, because i'm playing with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and 1st he cannot target Krenko and 2nd having 2 cards with 5cmc may be a reason to tick to 5 my vial at some parts of the game. If this is the right or perfect choice, i don't know ... but i'm giving a try (specially because of board wipe).
Instigator version Vs Classic version: Instigator or classic are both good. The choice of one is your playing style, and your matchups. For me, Instigator is doing better than the classical, because i always wanted to have more "Lackeys" and because they ALWAYS kill a turn 1 lackey, and now i do, and the most curious is that i am connecting more times an Instigator than a Lackey. Having people playing the classic version and posting gaming results and seeing them doing well in their games is great, because that way everyone can see where they succeed when other versions fail. Please keep posting, classic or not is good to see, where you succeeded and how you managed it, improving everyone's knowledge about matchups.
Chieftain in classic version: I played (and sometimes still play) the classic version, and in here, definitely my choice goes for Goblin Warchief over Chieftain (even cut all chieftains main board, usually leave 1 on side). Due to different strategy and playing Ports + Wasteland i prefer to reduce 1 instead of +1/+1, because in classic i power up with Piledriver (at the cost of 1) and Mogg War Marshall does a perfect team with pile, and because having reduced cost i can use ports more often.
Reanimator sideboard: There are all sort of good things ... but i discovered (thanks to you all and this Goblin Forum) Containment Priest. Nowadays my splash is white and i'm playing Rest in Peace and Containment Priest + Thalia, Guardian of Thraben + Ethersworn Canonist that are all human, so having a Cavern makes them all uncounterable. My last 3 games against reanimator where all 2-1 (Goblins Victory), as game 1 is impossible (nothing is impossible but very unlikely to happen) to win, game 2 and 3 is almost always Winnable. They will definitely use Show and Tell and remove counters (expecting grave hate), so having fetch to get a plateau is usually easy and a containment priest will stop SnT and Reanimator, and a turn one reanimator combo using Iona is not that bad because not having counter we can play Vial (and play lackey)... so no problem. Blask splash giving tools like Warren Weirding , Earwig Squad and Cabal Therapy is also very strong, and they can also be used against other combo strategies.
EDIT: my reanimator sideboard is ... 3x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben; 2x Containment Priest; 2x Rest in Peace; 4x Challice of the Void (is working perfectly)
Piledriver: Powerfull creature. 2cmc almost perfect card. But very week against creature decks (easily blocked and killed). In classic i go for 2/3, and in Instigator i go for 1/0. Why??? In classic version i prefer running Warchief so i feel the need of powerful creatures, in instigator version i prefer the chieftain to pump instigator/lackey to have power on "free" goblin threats.
I also play a classic goblins list, and thought I might as well share my current build. I've been seeing excellent results since the treasure cruise banning.

I think the recent succes of Goblins has nothing to do with the kind of deck (Classic, WInstigator, Mono Red or with a splash) you are playing, but rather with two things:
1. Skill
2. Rogue-factor
Still, it's good to see so many people have succes!
Did top 4 in a small one with classic yesterday.
The more we discuss the deck and it's plays, the better off we will be! I still think that Goblins is good enough, if played well. We can only get better by constantly brainstorming on this thread :laugh:Quote:

Went 3-1 today. Beat Miracles Twice, lost to MonoR Painter and defeated Dark Maverick.
The games were very tight and I felt the matches overall were quite skill intensive. I'm really happy with how the list has been working out so far. The singleton Earwig Squad was a house versus Miracles, and just an all around good card that I was happy to have access to. Still trying to figure out the last two sideboard slots. Played 2 Perish today but not sure if that's correct or not.
Whats your current list then? We couldt stick our heads together and see what the last 2 slots could be.

I haven't played with Dismember in Goblins. My first instinct is that it's not powerful enough for a sideboard card, but I would like to hear your reasoning. Could you elaborate on which matchups you'd bring it in in, and what you'd expect it to do for you? Always happy to discuss ideas with you, you're very good at seeing multiple variables, breaking down an argument into what's essential etc.Quote:

Lost G1 to DnT on the draw when I kept a hand on the draw without a 1 drop, slow removal, and didn't draw lands.
I won G2 off of T1 Lackey. DnT played T1 Vial and sighed. T2 SGC out raced him from there. TSH blew up a Jitte.
Game 3 was fun. He built a board but I Pyro'd it away. Good stuff.
R2 was on camera. I'll post the link later. There were some significant misplays on my opponent's part.
R3 I lost G1, then I won G2 and G3 off of my opponent bricking. Didn't draw any hate, but both games I had Lackey/Port in my opening hand, which is about as good as you can hope for in this matchup.
R4 was on camera. I commit to mana denial G1 and got past him by the skin of my teeth. He basically did not have the removal he needed to keep me in check and I was able to overwhelm the board and control his manabase.
Game 2 was pretty much a blowout. He Played T1 Underground into Delver. I Played T1 Mountain into Lackey whick he Forced. His delver didn't flip, he bricked on the second land drop, and he cast a second Delver. T2 I wasted his Underground Sea, pitched a TSH to Pyro is 2 Delvers, and cast a 2nd Lackey. He scooped.
It was a good night. I had some good fortune. I'll post the list later if anyone wants it.
