Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Bryantt should really thank that the MUD player was so bad. Playing against Chalice of the Void/3-Sphere on the finals would be bad times.

Not many chances he opts to draw a lone fow and it doesn't do anything anyway.
It can't be a spell pierce because :
A) he would have drawn it instead of keeping it second
B) he would have played it in resp to the first ritual
It also couldn't be a stifle for reason A or daze for both reasons.
Therefore it has to be a clique. Once first dark ritual resolves the right play against clique was to play IT and in resp play DR. If opponent plays clique you can still play the last DR with city of brass. If he doesn't we resolve DR and still in resp to the IT play the last DR.
But well you don't have to play perfectly to win at magic. You just need to be better than the other guy. He didn't play clique sooner and if I remember correctly didn't fetch in his turn opening himself to silence in resp to fetching. He also kept a lose hand on the draw against TES, so congratulations to Bryant still.
Learned more about playing around Vendilion Clique. Thanks.
That's really next level....

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
About time Bryant! Congratulations for not only reaching top8 like you wished for in one of your articles but for winning it. What a great feeling to see TES taking first place. Report will be at Jupiter of SCG? ;)

Well done Bryant! Enjoyed watching your games, even though I had to do a face palm when they listed you as playing ANT :P

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Are the videos posted anywhere? I'm on my iPad and couldn't watch SCGLive without their app...which isn't available in Japan:frown:

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Thanks everyone. As for my "misplay", sure, in hindsight I would've made a different line of play. However, I wasn't playing around a two-of in my opponents deck at the time. Sometimes your opponents have it, sometimes you refuse to prize split and get rewarded.

So any advice for TES mirror matches this weekend at SCG KC?
1.) Win the die roll.
2.) Get lucky.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Remember to be faster and don't dilute your deck with unnecessary boarding.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Show boat. If they grapeshot you for 21, go for 30.

Actually even with that "misplay" he could have still won. Hand is triple dark ritual infernal tutor. Cast dark ritual, it resolves like in the match, cast infernal tutor holding priority cast dark ritual. If dark ritual resolves, cast another dark ritual going to 0 cards in hand. If Ben doesnt clique during the first dark ritual he does not get another opportunity till after AN resolves and cook casts his first spell. Regardless, congrats cook and thank you for signing my set of tendrils!

That's exactly the line Lejay suggested.

I wanted to be more specific since I didn't exactly see it. Also if he had any other card in that situation the game ends in W because they have nothing or L because they had a tax counter.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
I could swear his hand was DRx2, LED, Infernal Tutor. But I could be wrong...

Last time I had a TES mirror I kept Empty in when on the play, and boarded it out (and one Infernal) for Tendrils on the draw. I reasoned that an early Empty could still be fast enough to win on the play, but probably wouldn't be on the draw. I'm not sure if this was correct.

OK, kids -- I was sarcastic. Relax.

Nice work, Bryant!
You accomplished a New Year's resolution right around the time the rest of us have forgotten ours.

I wonder if they'll post my g3 against JD since it was only a single game. I'd like to include the link in my report.

It's up, Twitch archives anything broadcast while streaming

I know that. But I just want the segment with that single game. Not all 15 hours of Sunday magic.
-
Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Yea I've noticed sometimes they cut up each match into it's own video, and other times on Twitch it's just one huge save for each day and you have to look for a specific time.
Most of the youtube stuff is Deck Tech related.
As far as what is noted it's http://www.twitch.tv/scglive/b/378858417 around 11 hours 5 min's in round 8 of 9 / 13 hours 13 min's in for the quarter finals / 14 hours 40 mins in for the finals.
-edit- also I must say, I like the choice of sleeves, I love that color and use the same ones!

I am actually interested in whether this line of sideboarding was a good idea or not, as I suspect it might be best to always go for Tendrils>Empty main in the mirror.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
All three Feature Matches have been added to the opening post.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
How does one side vs other stormdecks? People have been picking up TinFins and ANT in my meta lately.
Most of the time I do something like this:
-1 EtW
-1 Infernal
+1 PiF
+1 Cabal Therapy
But I am unsure whether this is actually correct.
