Goblin Lackey, Goblin Recruiter (still banned in Legacy), Ravager, Disciple of the Vault, and Stoneforge Mystic come to mind. Metalworker was also banned in Legacy for a while.

Hermit Druid? I guess he is more a combo card and less a creature though.
Edit:
Worldgorger Dragon
This thread is now about creatures banned in 90's.
Tempest Efreet and Timmerian Fiends are so OP they're still banned. :wink:Quote:

Well, at least they've tried to give some sort of balance back then. Now they just don't care.
Yeah. Not really important. I only remember Ali because I also remember him being absurdly expensive (for a 10-12 year old) when I started playing.
I don't think it was. It was definitely considered too powerful to reprint in 5th Edition. Necropotence, on the other hand...
Congrats to brainstorm for being selected by 14 of the 16 scg invitational as a must play 4 of. 1/4 decided maindeck red blasts were the way to go. Looking forward to 2015.
Let's give it an award. I vote for "The cause of Needless's high blood pressure".
That or you could, you know, stop running around in circles and say, email Wizards employees. I just found out that Steve over on the Mana drain managed to get something positive done on the matter of the card Reconnaissance. He did not manage that by simply posting passive aggressive messages on a thread.
Whose blood pressure is high? What more evidence can I present that isn't already present in 80%+ saturation? It's not a big deal just an indicator that players with money on the line select Brainstorm at 88%. They can't afford to mulligan. Worth noting this is a short form event also (double elim?).
@Nedleeds
The thing I was trying to point out is that it's not what you say but how you say it that weakens your points. You can post that this happened and lay out the numbers, but you would rather post in passive aggressive tones and with stupid hash tags all while doing your level best to sound like a toddler who is throwing a tantrum because he is not getting his own way. But, but what if instead of doing that you put your time and effort into contacting and seeking out a comment from someone in the Wizards team? What would be more useful, taking the information you have, typing out an email asking why Wizards is letting this issue you perceive continue to perpetuate while being silent on the issue or posting hash tags and throwing tantrums in a thread?
See this is The Source, but it's not THE SOURCE. So why not seek out The Source and go to them with your issues? Seek out answers there. Because no one that posts in this thread can do a fucking thing about that list. So why not seek out those who can?
@H
I will need to reread that thread. I did think Steve sent the first message and Duck sent the last one. Well, before he got banned.
I didn't remember Steve ever saying he sent any message about it and a quick look over it didn't reveal any point at which he did, but I might have missed something.
I said earlier in this thread that we needed a voice and someone to speak to Wizards on all of our concerns. However as is the norm here, people disregarded that, created a strawman argument that I was saying Brainstorm needed to be banned and that only people who agreed to that false point should be heard.
That's when I gave up actually trying to urge people to actually be constructive, because it seems that the overwhelming sentiment here isn't about actually having productive discussion. Instead it's to nit-pick opposing points and then use strawman and ad-hominen arguments to further lower the level of conversation.
After all this time, are you surprised we haven't had anyone from Wizards actually come here and listen to this shit?
Do you really believe emailing wizards will do anything? Doubtful.
More than posting here will do. Also if you wanted to put the effort in, email, twitter and what not you could badger multiple people until someone answered.
There are options more effected than a circle jerk, that's surely one of them.
Haven't posted here or played in a couple of month because of Brainstorm being allowed and it seems like I will stay away longer. Just posting because I looked at a few Top8 lists and all I see is Brainstorm and MD'ed Red Blasts lol. Things haven't changed it seems, except maybe gotten worse. Brainstorm is ridicuously OP and people defend it because they are stupid. According to TCdecks stats Brainstorm dominance has gotten even worse despite the fact that Brainstorm numbers were already much higher than what usually gets banned. Don't know what to say. The UR Burn decks look completey degenerated and unfun. I feel like everyone should MD 8 Red Blasts to counter opposing Brainstorms and also MD 8 Blue Blasts to force through their own Brainstorms through opposing Red Blasts.
