I was referring to the rest of the field, ie the 45 players who didn't T8 (presumably 3~4 of them he had to beat beforehand to get a 4-1-1 record, with the potential of him beating one of the other T8 guys in the swiss).

The 4 guys in top 8 running Wasteland if he gets paired with one of them would clearly show why he didn't make it into the T4, I'm curios as to how he made it into the T8, what did the field in general look like if Tron was able to T8 a 53 person tournament? Did 40 of those 45 players not have access to or just decide not to run Wasteland that day? Or did the guy just get lucky and dodge Wasteland all day amidst a typical field?

I'm 100% unconcerned with Grizzly Bears (as it won't really be good in Legacy ever because there are better cards, as compared to the Tron which hypothetically could be very powerful in a field devoid of non-basic hate, ie, if Wasteland got banned somehow, or if you somehow have a sick read on the metagame and know no one is bringing Wasteland or Moon effects).

He isn't running Stifle (not even in the board). He should have something like a 10/90~20/80 matchup against decks with Wasteland...

He does have Crucible + lots of artifact mana. In Extended the Tron decks often didn't need to hit the Tron early; they just made 4-6 mana with land drops and artifacts and cast powerful spells until they won.
