Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I don't really have a meta to prep for. There is absolutely no legacy scene where I'm from. I do all of my testing on cockatrice. The next event I'm planning on playing in is Portland in December. And from what I saw last time, there is a large amount of miracles and alot of delver. There is a fair amount of DnT and I think I'll end up with Eladamri's in my board for that event. The biggest thing that I want is a way to deal with x/1s, and I'm thinking that Marrow Shards is the best option without a splash.
And there is absolutely a "too late" with this deck, mainly against delver. By the time I have the capability to cast Dig, I'm at 4 life against red mana and bugs flying at me. I'd rather have the cheaper guarantee than something that might be better when it resolves, but is incredibly difficult to cast
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
4 Ponder
4 Brianstorm
4 Preodain
1 Impulse
1 Intuition
4 Show and Tell
4 Omniscience
3 Dream Haulls
4 Enter the Infinite
3 Cunning Wish
1 Emrakul
4 Force of Will
2 Spell Pearce
1 Flusterstorm
2 City of Traitors
2 Ancient Tomb
6 fetch
10 Island
I tryed a Dig over the 4th EtI and didn't like it. Having it naturally is just better. Also it through of the Intuition math.
Boarding in 2 DTT while having a wish abel against hevy discard and heavy controll seemed better than the LOS slot.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
any advice against dnt? I'm like 1-5 against that deck. so many must answers against the deck. against this one with basically no removal

In mono U: wipe away or p.jest
With black splash: massacre/dread of night/toxic deluge
In general combo as soon as possible don't let them have multiple hatebears, emrakul kill is the best
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I also have the same problem with a rock deck.
he dropped teeg, then dropped thalia, and canonist.

I don't really see how it's any different than maindeck intuition. It feels very clunky to just cast intuition for three, it's primarily there for finding the other combo piece after a resolved omniscience. But if it needs to function as a slow tutor, it has that utility. Dig is the same principle but it ideally costs one less.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Dig still has the risk of not finding what you need. Currently i am trying 2 intuition main and 1 board and 2 digs board to replace intuition post board. Also removed the leylines and play 1 misdirection and flusterstorm main and 1/1 on the side along with 3 spell pierces main. That has ensured me going off turn 2/3 more consistantly.

Sure, ideally it costs 1 less, but that's usually not until turn 5-6. Plus Intuition has the guarantee that Dig doesn't. Intuition is actually castable on turn 2 as well. In fact, Intuition is just an overall better card, especially once you consider the games that can be played with Emrakul in your Intuition piles

Yeah I'm feeling the black splash. Vial on 2 just shuts off any bounce shenanigans. Will try that next time.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I know these are a bit slow but the decks that usually play Hatebears are slow to kill. I think we can afford a number of these in the SB.

Has anyone tested this deck vs the UR Delver matchup yet?

I have tested against UR. The very typical RUG matchup except they are faster with less counters game 1.
Game 2, bring in defense grid and hope you go off faster than they burn you. You won't need emrhkul in this matchup.
The good thing is they can't stop you with stifle or wastelands so your lands are safe
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
UR is the same as every other delver matchup. This deck doesn't care about Cruise. Defense Grid is a house as per usual. Nothing really unexpected
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Opinions:
Surgical or Noxious Revival?
Jest or Slaughter Pact or Sapphire Charm? Anyone ever use slaughter pact anymore?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Played UR Delver twice on the weekend and went 2-0 both times. The builds I played against didn't have Wasteland which made keeping sol lands around to pay for soft counters easy. Both pilots told me they thought they had bad combo matchups. They only seemed to have had three REBs/Pyroblasts to bring in. I don't think that is representative of usually UR Delver boarding though. I would expect Flusterstorms and Swang Songs from a well-constructed board.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
What is our plan against all the fast delvercruise decks right now in the format?
I guess we have to race them but thats still very hard against a superfast deck wich kills on tun 4 + countermagic
In our testings, UR Delver crushed Omnitell so hard, there is no time to search the combo and even then we die to taxing counters like daze and spell pierce because they have us on a 4-turnclock.
I'm currently thinkin about playing control (removal/sweepers/something like ensnaring bridge which prevents damage for some turns)
Any ideas?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Ensnaring Bridge does almost nothing against Delver. The way you beat them is by attacking their ability to interact, aka Defense Grid. If you want to start main decking it, that's fine. But you would then need to find something to bring in in the non blue matchups
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Main strategy against ur/uwr is defense grid. Judging from my experience with the izzet delver version it's not as bad - after over a dozen of games it's about 50% I would say. Playing card like ensnaring bridge in our deck is pointless

What is the strategy against miracles?

The other day i had a 10 minute match against Miracles winning it 2-0. Game one he cast a T3 Counterbalance and had an untapped Tundra. On my turn i went in with a S&T, he tried casting a Brainstorm in response to his CB trigger. I fow'd it figuring he had a CMC 3 spells in hand. The fow resolved and he flipped a plains. Game two i cast a T1 Defense Grid which he couldn't counter. Turn 3 i combo'd and won with a fow at hand, but didn't need it. I might have been lucky, but basicly i guess you just try to push thru asap with counter back-up.

thats what i figured.
i think the hardest deck is miracles and BUG with hymns, daze, and krosan grips.
man that guy i played against boarded in like 12 cards.
