[Deck] UWR Delver

So I'm starting to get prepared for the Invitational this weekend and want to make sure my list is where it needs to be. Here's what I have right now:

1 Umezawa's Jitte

Sideboard

2 Containment Priest

Are there any changes to the deck that you guys think I should make based on an expected Invitational field? The Hydroblast in the board is mostly because I think that burn will be pretty popular there because of the number of people who qualify from standard IQs and play the easy deck to build. Our matchup against them is pretty good already though so I'm open to change it out. Any thoughts on that slot, any other slots, or general predictions about the invitational field are appreciated!

I actually have been having success with a very similar list. My main deck differs by a few (-1 spell pierce -2 git probe: +1 land +1 vendilion clique +1 DTT)

Do you find git probes to be helpful?

I really like the probes. Many of the cards in the deck feel very polarized in various matchups, so having the most information early in the game about what I need to beat lets me get the most value out of my early cantrips. Plus it is very nice with Meddling Mage.

How do you like land #20?

I've used the 20 lands mostly out of habit from past lists I've seen online. I've had to mull a fair number of times due to an opening 7 with no lands (or a single wasteland) and because I run an extra 3 mana creature I feel it's warranted.

I think it does make sense to include the extra land to ensure that we get sufficient colored mana. I've had too many draws where I get wastelands but not enough colored mana to play efficiently. Anyone else have experience with 20/19 lands?

Also, anyone have more thoughts on my list?

There tend to be a lot of fair decks at these invitationals, so maybe tilt your sideboard so it's a bit less oriented in fighting combo. Hydroblast is just a bad card after TC got banned.

I've been thinking about running hydroblasts for anti Jund and burn tech. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to board in for those matchups?

I'm trying to get ready for GP Kyoto next month.

So far, this is my list. I'm thinking about dropping a submerge and a Flusterstorm for 2 hydroblasts and buying 2 containment priests in place of the cages.

What do you think is a good hydroblast replacement for the invi? Pithing Needle for top, walkers, and deathrite? Sulfur elemental for D&T?

Do try to find room for Council's Judgment in the board, as it is a great all-around answer to silly cards.

I prefer either 1 Plains or 1 Karakas instead of the Island. Plains lets you Tear Blood Moon and win with Stoneforge, while with just an Island under Blood Moon it only turns on Delver + equipment as a win condition. Unless you are concerned about Sneak & Show boarding in Blood Moons, which is a valid concern, because Island is better than Plains there (though I'd probably rather just have Karakas).

Anyone else playing Stony Silence in the board? I think the Miracles matchup is impossible without it, though maybe we're just punting that? Also helps with 12 post and MUD (which are both played at my LGS).

It shuts off all Jitte and Batterskull activated abilities. Skull might not be heavily affected but equipping a Jitte to an Aberration or TNN is one of our most powerful tactics.

You'd play Needle instead. Needle naming top is just as good. More Wear//Tear is good vs MUD without having to shut down your own strategy.

hmm I've been boarding Jitte out against Miracles/MUD. Is that a mistake?

Not if you side in Sword of Feast and Famine in it's place.

This build had a good day. Of note is using a Divert in place of the third Spell Pierce. And in the sideboard having both a Clique and a third TNN for decks with a lot of removal. Instead of two Pyroblast and two Flusterstorms there are 3 Pyroblasts and just one Flusterstorm, which I suppose uses the red splash a little more. A very solid and balanced build. In the board, I would like to have more than one Containment Priest though.

Yeah my problem is that I can't change decks based on my meta. I'm still working on building a first deck. I'm hoping to build something that's always decent, not the flavor of the month and not what happens to be good in the meta at the moment.

Totally get it, I'm sure Delver strategies can always hold their own against the field. This deck hasn't been seeing much play at all recently, for whatever reason...I think the reason is that people have just decided that BUG is the better deck, which I'm somewhat inclined to agree with. If I didn't own the entire deck in Japanese foil already, I'd probably switch to be honest. It might be better to just play Stoneblade instead of Delver with regards to UWR now.

BUG has great game against the field

however I think Rest in Peace is a really, really good card right now (and it happens to be good against BUG too), same with Wasteland

and it's nice being able to play a deck that has both of those plus Meddling Mage

that being said, I'm going to be testing out Grixis Delver lists in prep for SCG Open Cleveland since I like that style of play and they've been doing decently well
