Supreme Verdict has many problems. It's difficult to cast against DnT. It's very vulnerable to Thought-knot unless you're able to float it. Other than Verdict cannot hit Tarpit, in terms of Shardless MU, you don't lose to Shardless because you can't find Verdict/Terminus got countered, you lose to Shardless because you're out CA-ed, and you cannot pressure Liliana/opposing Jace enough.
Your intent on finding another creature hate is a direction I agree with, but there must be better alternative than Verdict.
It depends really, I personally won a lot of mirrors by just casting spell snare on my oppoent's cb and something in my turn.
To be fair I think that spell snares are one of the stronges card in the mirror, having a nice counter for late game CBs and snapcasters is insanely powerful.
Its also important to consider the entire metagame, taxes and eldrazi are the MUs we have to be the most prepared for, and CB is pretty bad against both of them, while for example Snare is super good instead.
As i stated before imho the list I'm playing (here it is, for reference)is the right way to go, I've been winning most of my games (95% ish on cocka, 80% in real) since I started testing it, the only soft spot is the sideboard against eldrazi which would be much better with 1/2 more hosers, despite eldrazi being popular i find the colorless version to be beatable with little to no specific sidebord, but the new 8thalia versions are rather problematic.
I also believe that if we dont go hard on counters as I usually do having some form of remouval is really helpful, even having a single copy of a solution is enough to find it in time thanks to our massive cantrip shell, a single EE or CJ can do so much more than an additional cb in my opinion, I would rather have an out against CoTV/PWs/Library/Vials/Equipments than a 5% chance to get an early cb.
And lastly, in my opinion Cb is not needed in any MU but Burn, we can easily win without even casting it against anything else.
if you feel Artifact pieces of hate are just too much around
EOT Terminus and Hurkyl's Recall (or Serenity in your turn)
It's true that against Eldrazi and DnT, Counterbalance only pitches to FoW, but against Grixis Infect and the Mirror it's a card a like 4 of.
On the other hand, DnT and Eldrazi are both decks where Moat would completly shine. Very difficult to cast though..
To me the 4th CB is the same as the 4th terminus: there are some matchups where it is totally dead, but the ones where it is good, if you find/resolve one you won that game. I think you can easily get away with 3 CB since the deck is so powerful, but it is still not optimal. Also, with the 4th CB, I often just tap out and jam a CB against delver decks with untapped lands. If they daze/pierce it, no big deal. If they don't the game is now over.
Over the past 3 years I have played with 3 terminus and 3 CB for extended lengths of time. Even in the metas I did that in, I was wrong to do so.
This is kind of my point of view as well. Metagaming for certain events is all well and good, but for larger ones (in particular, Eternal Weekend) I don't think it's ever correct to play one thing or another because you feel as if a certain card is better.
I know that I'll likely be playing both 4 balance and 4 terminus, even though it might be wrong from a metagame standpoint. Legacy is often the wild west, even if some decks are among the top performing, you cannot just prepare for those. Play what you feel comfortable with and you'll likely increase your chances of winning than you expect, simply due to reps and familiarity. We can discuss card choices forever, but there's not going to be a true consensus ever reached.
Hi Minniehajj, I just want to say thanks for all the work you put into Miracles. You are one of my favorite Magic players. Your Miracles insight is always spot-on.
Hey guys, I'm excited to begin getting involved in the conversation. I have recently had a lot of success with the "BDM" list (4 Mentor). Sort of concerned about Prelate and new Death and Taxes, and I'm wondering if people have been testing more Kozilek's Returns and Staticasters. I see in the last couple pages there was some discussion about which is better... But I am thinking that generally we probably need to run at least one.
BDM looks like the best list currently for sure, but have you considered Sulfur Elemental? I think Split Second is really important since they can't use vial in response to it to save something with Flickerwisp, and it also is a great combo with monastery mentor since the +1 power is almost the same as a prowess trigger. They also work well in multiples since they can then keep the board permanently clear and just attack the Death and Taxes deck to death (without taxes).
Sulfur Elemental is pretty bad against DnT now, just FYI. Feel free to disagree, but you aren't often going to get the board wipe you used to. Turns new Thalia into a 4/1 first striker, Prelate doesn't die, I don't think it's the way to beat the deck. I think Return of Kozilek will be the correct way to deal with the deck. Or maybe Pyroclasm. -x/-1 effects do very little these days.

no doubts about it.
it gets kill-blocked even by SnapMage in the mirror and dies to everything (included our K.Return)
It is respectable just for Flash and Split Second, but no anyway
Sulfur is actually sick against DnT.
The main ways you lose are
- Thalia + Karakas
- Sneaky Flickerwisps
- Mom + Hoser
- Recruiter chains
- New thalia doing things
- Prelate preventing you from playing MTG
- Revoker on top
- Wastelanded into oblivion
- Ports
Sulfur beats the first four ones and it's really good against ports aswell, you shouldnt expect the card to insta win you the game, but it helps immensly.
I just finished playing some games on cockatrice and i played taxes once, you can see how sulfur did here at min 29.
(im streaming my gameplay mainly to have the chance to review it if I think I misplayed, so the production value of the stream is pretty low and I don't really stream that often, but feel free to check it out if you want to see some miracles action)
Sulfur Elemental kills all their Flying creatures so that they can't kill me because of Moat as well, and then I can easily finish them with Vendilion Clique & Spell Queller. Izzet Staticaster is also a possibility but it has worse synergy with the rest of our deck.
It is pretty nice to make your Mentors and Spell Quellers 3/X base creatures. Seems like you could get really aggro if needed.
Sulfer elemental definitely is not nice with mentor...
I do not think sulfer elemental is that great. It definitely is good against D&T, but that's basically it. Its too narrow. Staticaster helps against the mirror, D&T, infect, and any other deck with little guys. Kozilek or clasm are also good, they have the upside of being good against delver.
I personally like staticaster the best, his use in the mirror and against storm are what push him over the edge for me. If I did not feel favored against D&T and delver I might reconsider.
This is the latest BDM list that I have been using to great success locally and am bringing to EW:

4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Preordain
4 Sensei’s Divining Top
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Counterbalance
4 Force of Will
3 Terminus
1 Engineered Explosives
Creatures (9)
4 Monastery Mentor
3 Spell Queller
2 Snapcaster Mage
Lands (19)
4 Island
2 Plains
2 Tundra
2 Volcanic Island
4 Flooded Strand
4 Scalding Tarn
1 Arid Mesa
SIDEBOARD
1 Disenchant
1 Vendilion Clique
1 Flusterstorm
3 Sulfur Elemental
2 Enlightened Tutor
2 Moat
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Null Rod
1 Blood Moon
1 Pithing Needle
1 Tormod's Crypt
I just switched to Sulfur Elemental in the side over Verdict. I just didn't want to be bringing in Verdict in the mirror, and the turn 3 Mentor cheese is everywhere. If it does something in another matchup...that's great.
