Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Nice, nice, J.V.
I never saw russian Ponders before, but I like my japanese ones better. I will post a picture of my Threshold variants as soon as I get my STifles (I finally got a playset of asian ones on ebay. The 15 Dollar shipping to Germany sucked, though).
Well, I got these goodies recently from my most favourite japo-card-dealer Richard:

The stupid thing is that I only bought these because I found them cool, I actually have no need for them (except the Magi because I now have a good Survival-cardpool) . But I guess I now have a good reason to try MoonThresh, lolz. My cellphone cam is better than expected, tho.

I would assume that most players prefer Beta. What I like about GermanBB duals is that the print quality seems to be better and that the details in the artworks seem to be a little more visible. Also, I think that the Drew Tucker art for Plateau looks better.
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Yeah I have a set of Japanese Ponders at home but this is just stuff I have here at school with me. Also beautiful Blood Moons!
As for the Dual land Hierarchy:
Beta Duals
Alpha Duals
German BB
French BB
Italian BB
Unlimited
Rev/FWB Duals
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
So was Weatherlight printed in Japanese?
I'm going to do this:
-Get Japanese of everything I can for what I'm needing.
-Get Unlimited Duals as I like that they are the only WB cards in my deck.
I need Doomsday blackborder but pimped. If it's not printed Japanese Weatherlight, is Japanese WB 6th my only option? If I have to go another language I will for it to be FBB. Suggestions? Would it be cool to have a 6th ed. Japanese one with the borders sharpie'ed? I've heard of some people doing that...
I suck at this "pimping" stuff out...
Pce,

WTF? Why that order?
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
What are those Moons? Japanese Chronicles? Why are they BB? Isn't the first Japanese set 4th?
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
@ DC87
I use this site to check the language a set is printed in.

J.V.'s Tormod's Crypt are also japanese Chronicles.
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
@Dark_Cynic87

Oh yes, I'm not sure what to count it as (mistake or not) but Japanese Chronicles WAS BB, and it also does NOT exist in any other languages besides ENG WB.
German/French/Italian got Renaissance, and Spanish/Portuguese/Chinese/Korean got the shaft.

That's correct.
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
I just picked up 2 Rolling Earthquakes for under $40 each (1 Japanese, 1 Chinese). I am trying to pic up a 3rd but all that is available are English ones, they're twice as expensive. Is English P3K worth more than Asian P3K or did I just get a really good deal?
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
My guess is that you just got a really good deal!
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
English had a smaller print run than Chinese or Japanese, so it's much rarer.

English > Asian. I know, surprising.

Right and wrong! :D
Good deal? Yes, right now I'd count $40 each on Rolling Earthquakes of any language as a good price.
But as a guess to the Asian vs. English values ...
English P3K is certainly more valuable than Asian P3K.
Two reasons:
1. Production quantities. English P3K is in much shorter supply than its Asian breed.
P3K goes (most scarce to least scarce) ... English, T-Chinese, Japanese, S-Chinese ... at least to my knowledge.
2. Readability. More than half the people you run into have no knowledge of what any of the P3K stuff is.
Er go, it is easiest to have a copy they can just read.

This is the wonderfull exception where english can be considered more pimp that any asian language :)

Mint Beta cards are harder to come by, the were more often played due to being printed second and also having the standard boarder so they were not considered marked like Alpha when playing without sleeves. So long story short there are few mint or NM Beta cards out there, so they have held their value. Also, Alpha Volcanic Islands don't exist, so Beta Volcanics are the only option for English BB.

Well from a collectors standpoint, Mint Alpha cards are actually harder to come by than Beta because of the quality control, which a lot worse in Alpha than Beta. This leads to there being very few of some Alpha cards PSA 9-10 out there, as a result of poor centering and other poor printing qualities from the original print run.
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
@ Wiggly
I would get beta over alpha because it is darker. Makes the art look more cool to me.
