Damn, this reminds me that I should get another 2 Chains, so that I have a playset of every one of these.

Hope my buddy follows through for your benefit, a playset of these badboys would be amazing to have.

This is exactly why people who collect miscuts should always be wary of that possibility, and those aren't even the only things cut from sheets and passed off as actual cards that I've seen on ebay.
kinda confused on this. If a sheet is intentionally miscut is it not worth collecting?
Is cutting cards from sheets and selling them on ebay bad? are they not considered legitimate cards?
Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks
One doesn't follow the other. A sheet being intentionally miscut doesn't mean it isn't worth collecting -- that distinction is and always will be one of subjectivity. A sheet being intentionally miscut, however, defeats the purpose of collecting the miscut for many.
THis thread probably isn't the place to go into details on ethics. If a fake beta lotus is perfectly done so as to escape detection, is it as good as a lotus? If it is, but you knew that it were fake, does it make a difference? If we take a semantical stance with regards to provenance, then no -- these are not legitimate cards. It is misrepresentation when cards are intentionally miscut and sold without disclaimers, more so because even if the seller were to have that caveat, there is nothing to prevent the buyer from flipping a homemade miscut as an actual one. Without going into grey areas, there are plenty of people who couldn't recognise a homemade miscut even if it reached up and tickled their noses -- so as far as I am concerned, I fall into the camp that believes that cards miscut out of a sheet are not legitimate at best, and illegal misrepresentation at worst.

Magic, the (Philosophical) Gathering.
Did you pick one of those up off of Brad, Occam? That Storm deck would look sweet on your Source playmat :P

*if you could get someone to cut it, it'd be worth more than 20k as individual cards. This seems like a good deal...if you have 20k just chillin....***rolls eyes and looks to occam

If you miscut the sheet and flood the market with miscut betas that would raise eyebrows, I'd be wary of buying into miscut A/B/U Power too unless I physically inspect them first. As for cutting the sheet, there's a cutter available in the market that is used to make poker cards (identical in size to mtg cards). For the corners, there are corner cutters available, 1mm for Beta and 2mm for a more round Alpha corner. It is easy to make Betas into Alphas, but impossible to make Betas from Alphas obv. This is another reason why I am never fond of Alpha cards. If Alpha power command higher price tags, then 2mm cutter is the way to go. Except for money cards like Tropical Island, Birds of Paradise, Basalt Monolith etc. because it would be detectable if they were originally Betas cut into Alphas (misprint/errors).
There's a Beta uncut sheet that sold for under 1k not to long ago, but it is in worse condition than the one on sale right now.

You can't turn Beta in Alpha at this point in the game. You could tell the difference, whether it was professionally cut or not. The cards are too old now.
EDIT: You'd be exposing "new" cardstock that hasn't been exposed for 20+ years compared to the other edges which have. There would be a colour difference. The newly cut corners, when viewed from the sides, would look fresher.
