Looks like Misstep is 99% certain to be banned

It's nice to know they are just good-hearted fools rather than evil geniuses when it comes to designing cards for Legacy.

Personally, I am happy with this. The golden age of Legacy was post-Survival, pre-MM days. There was variety in the top 8.
Now, SCG Legacy opens looks like the Standard open, the same 5 decks that have the same 20 cards.

Even talking about it from a theoretical standpoint, what 'tech' is there to adjust to such a spell, exactly? And if it's out there, why in the name of Samuel L Jackson isn't it working? As far as we can tell, the best answer to Mental Misstep is Mental Misstep. That in and of itself should be a clue that it's bad for a format. A free counterspell that everyone can run just by removing their worst 4 cards, that people will be tempted to run just so they can answer it when the opponent plays it. That's terrible.

They printed misstep to give all colors a counter for critical Turn 1 plays then ban it because their favourite pet-deck plays could be answered, I open call for MaRo's and LaPille's heads! Printing overpowered chase-cards without testing and Ban them 3-6 months later is Yu-Gi-Oh-Style.
Dumb printings like the double-faced cards and B&R-mismanagement (gentlemans agreement and other shit) made them both unacceptable. Banning Misstep would be overkill in being unable to do that's right
P.S. People preordering Snapcaster mage for that sick interaction with misstep will be fucked
I hope that Aaron Forsythe means and does what he says. I would be absolutely thrilled if MM gets the deserved axe and the format can breathe again.
And to those of you guys unhappy if and when MM does get the chop, consider the ridiculous interaction between Misstep and the upcoming Snapcaster Mage. Fun times. Also, it's funny how Brainstorm is supposedly the problem when there are more answers to it than ever since MM. Nobody ever really complained about it Pre-Misstep either.
Snapcaster will still be great as a value card in control decks, even without Misstep. I think people are more excited about reusing Brainstorm, StP, Lightning Bolt, etc.
