Why did he even keep the hand if it hasn't the ability to kill Black right on the spot?

It's defenitely a greedy/bad keep against a deck with a lot of softcouners. Such a shame :frown:
Anyone else sick of seeing Young Pyromancers already?
No? Well here's UWR delver vs UR delver. Enjoy.
Go to the magic site, the Chat isn't disabled there. Furthermore, there are some ways to get the SCGlive Chat online, were several people are (like 400++ people on average).
@Storm game, if he would have drawn a underground/badlands instead of the volcanic he would have won without a problem. So I can understand his keep.
Greetings,
Kathal
Starcity disabled the chat on their twitch page (probably don't want to deal with moderating it), but for some reason Twitch doesn't actually disable chat.. just the display of it.
You can get to the chat here

Nice, another UR Delver!
What annoys and downright alienates me are those new, fucking stupid names - what in the name of fuck is a Jeskai Stoneblade deck? Is that a UWR Delver deck? Or one of those new UWR control-based decks?
It's confusing since that name is interchangably used for both decks.
The reason is pretty simple. Several years ago, the chat wasn't 'disabled', it was well moderated. But one time, a mod went crazy and banned nearly half of the chat users. The reason for that was some misplays from the players and the chat argued about that (if I remember correct). Since SCG didn't want it to happen again, the just disabled it and switched to twitter, since they don't have to mod this.
Greetings,
Kathal
LOL did anyone see the Ponder that lost him the game?
Yeah, but Martell conceded for him, since he was dead next turn. I like that attitude.
Greetings,
Kathal
PS: He could have also won, if he plays Jitte and equip it to TNN and give it +4/+4 in his last turn. The force could also handle the smash.
IIRC Martell had a smash to smithereens (and pyroblast?) in his hand the entire time.
Didn't had Pyroblast, but 2x FOW, which I forgot.
Greetings,
Kathal
I appreciate coverage, but fuck me, I want to see some new faces. I don't care what the regular SCG people are talking about. They should be taking this opportunity to put up new decks and new players maybe Americans haven't seen before. Put up some Euros and see what's up. Like we don't see enough of the Brad/Chris/Brian/Tom tag team.

Yeah, I'm with ya. There are 96 players at 6-0 right now, and they aren't all playing Stoneforge or Delver. If I was setting up matches to cover, they would not just be repeats unless it was very late in the tournament. I would much prefer to see Dredge or Lands or MUD or Elves or Punishing Maverick or that Dack Fayden deck that Cedric was talking about.
You might not get to hear that guy say 'perfect brainstorm' for the 69,699 time though?
No more Young Pyromancer decks on camera please.
The looks on this McDuffie kid's face summarizes how I've felt having to watch non-stop coverage of Delver decks today.
Was watching the coverage at work, but i definitely agree with your guy's gripes, wanna see more footage of europeans and obscure//unpopular decks. What the hell is Jeskai Stoneblade???
in case you aren't following the coverage....
This may be the most depressing photo of all time for the red mages of the world.

I think i might be more surprised that white stax made it into the top tables at a legacy GP. one lucky mofo.
Please stop talking about lands and put it on camera.
eventually smokestack will come out and destroy opponent...typically crucible of worlds allows stax to recycle lands to smokestack
I know I ran O-Ring in my build. Or if he's running Smokestack, he could just lock him under it.
does someone publish day 1 undefeated deck lists somewhere tonight or do we have to wait till tomorrow?
Sourcer update at the end of Day 1:
Akatsuki @ 8-1
Einherjer @ 8-1
Nitewolf @ 8-1
Feline @ 7-2
Parcher @ 7-2
Oarsman @ 6-3
Nightmare @ 6-3
Stryfo @ 6-3
Julian23 @ 5-3-1
Phelix (think this is you) @ 5-3-1
I don't know what the cutoff is for Day 2, but this is an enormous tournament. I just tracked the people I recognized. Please add to the list if you know others ...
Just found out three Atlanta people are undefeated 2 URW blade at 9-0 and a Jund man with main board chains at 8-0-1
Also X-2 is the cutoff
1 main, don't know how many board
Made it with 7-2
If he doesn't have a way to tutor up the chains, which he likely doesn't, then really they're not part of the conversation I think. He might well have gotten matchups in which they were fundamental and also gotten them in hand in time to make that meaningful but that's a random event. Sounds like he's one of the lucky Junds that got full value out of the power level of the cards in Jund without suffering from the inconsistency the archetype is famous for.
I went 6-3
I died really fast then started stalking sourcers. Got to introduce myself to Julian, probably creeped him out.
Top tables looked really interesting, sorry to hear the coverage was the same 3 decks
