yes, on occasion. its often more handy to be able to burn things on an opponents turn than it is to not be able to cast a creature on their turn.

no, they regular unlimited lands. they are white bordered for two reasons. one being they are they only white bordered cards in the deck. so when I fetch, it makes them much easier to find. and two, its easier to keep them seperated on the table during those long drawn out games.
again, beta basics are like $2 each, I could have them if I wanted them, its a matter of personal preference. the same thing that causes half the arguments in this thread.

That was Harald David. I have to say it looks quite decent in white sleeves, but the imagination that he spent hours with a few rolls of Scotch tape and a eraser to white-boarder his cards like Goyfs, Fetches, Null Rods etc. still gives me the creeps somehow.

Lots of mail has come recently. Too much to post pics of. Well... not really, but I am lazy so only 1 pic for today. More will come later this week. Anyway, here are some of the fancier things that have recently arrived.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Does anyone have even the slightest clue who I could contact about obtaining Urza's Saga basic lands in Korean? I have quite a few in Chinese and I love them, but I'm looking to upgrade. I've scoured the internet and sent some messages out to folks, but nothing has come up yet. It's funny that if you're looking for the good cards and staples in Korean, usually someone at least has them listed if you're willing to meet their price, but nobody bothers with basics and it makes it a bit difficult.
edit -- though really, if you know of any Japanese or Chinese ones, I'd snap them up in a heartbeat too

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
@Andrew77: Very nice cards, I'm not sure what or why it is but those cards look absolutely gorgeous. The scan definitely did them justice, and how hard were those Tops to come by?

I know what you are talking about. I'm trying to build a complete korean set. I've already got cards like BoP, Crusade, Mox Diamond, Factory and stuff, and some (un)commons, however I haven't managed to track down any basic land. You'd think some people should have to have some laying around..... There are only 15 different ones.... Got to catch em all.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Haha, man I need that Entomb for Sharuum.
Also, I think Japanese Foil Elspeth is like ~95-100

How do you figure?
Without counting each picture in each set, there are 20.
4th, 5th, Tempest, Urza's Saga
I have a TON of 5th edition Korean basics, like 200+, and Korean 5th is super rare, I just got lucky lol
Unfortunately it is WB, no big deal, nothing some fluid acrylics can't fix.
But as far as the others go, I have some assortment of them.
I have a lot more Japanese Urza's Saga than Korean, same goes for Tempest and 4th.
The most pimp is Japanese Mirage anyhow, it is the hardest to come by.
Ah shit, didn't mean to double post, I left and came back and forgot I was still actually in the same thread.

4th 3 lands
5th 4 lands
Tempest 4 Lands
Saga 4 Lands
I was only counting each picture of 1 type basic land though :) It should be 75 basic lands (like I said, I want to collect all Korean cards).

This is true. I don't really have a problem with most cards. Having stuff to see > not having stuff to see. I never really was enthralled with Japanese cards though, probably because I didn't do so well when I studied the language :(
On the bright side, I tracked down people willing to sell several nice cards that I needed, including that pesky foil Saga bolt. On the not so bright side, my new dark ritual set is stuttering. I thought I had the two hardest ones, but the damn foil european ones ......

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Sorry, Atwa that's right, 4th was 3 pics.
Even so, if you need some Korean 5th ones I got em, and I may have some others.
My newest baby, ohhhhh he is SO CUTE.
Anyone who has ever played against a deck with THIS in it knows it's only real purpose.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Thanks for the complements guys
Anyway here are some answers to the questions asked.
@wmagzoo: the std weren't that hard to come by. I am looking for some pretty hard to find korean cards as well as jap foil delta's atm so in my search for those I come by a ton of other cool cards.
@yawg: the entomb is actually going in my sharuum deck. You should post your list somewhere though
And since there was a lot of talk about korean I just had to get a new scan up. I love korean cards and have been working on picking up most staples for a while. Still need a city of traitors to finish my playset though. After that I can post korean stax.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Very nice Moxes.
I have 2 now and want to complete the playset. I must say getting Korean cards is pretty hard. Esspecially when you normally don't trade much, I don't have a network.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Here are pictures taken from my deck:

The support and wincondition:

The Sideboard:
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/536/cimg0193t.jpg
Next steps in pimping the deck:
- turn the two japanese Mox Diamonds into T-chinese ones which are really hard to find
- get (S-)chinese Entombs
- get two T- or three S-chinese Engineered Plagues
- turn, if possible, all T-chinese cards into S-chinese

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Beautiful! I love Chinese cards and it seems I'm in the minority. Those Vindicates and Wastelands are hawt.

First pic: Engineered Explosives, StP, ???

There you go.
By the way, your deck looks really nice!

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
Yeah, I dislike Chinese, but love Japanese and Korean.
But ANY deck that follows a complete theme always looks good. Congrats! You are almost there.
Got this from UPS last night ...

I am not really a fan of chinese cards. Here are a few that look decent and seem appropriate. They are for trade if anyone is interested

Supposedly those smokestacks as well as 2 of the korean ones posted earlier were used by Roland Chang to win vintage worlds.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
That Worm Harvet looks cool, but I think Chinese cards are ugly. Their lettering looks too blocky to me.

I completely agree. I think t-chi is my least favorite language. Way too blocky. The new s-chi or whatever they use nowadays is pretty bad too. Some of the old s-chi cards are quite nice though. Those s-chi vindicates are one of my favorite s-chi cards.
Here is a pick of a few s-chi cards and a new one for comparison.
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...dImage-4-2.jpg
All of those old s-chi cards look quite nice imo. The burning of xinye is actually another one of my favorite s-chi cards. Anyway, there's no way s-chi cards can compare to japanese cards in terms of looks. Japanese just looks so much better. Here is a side by side comparison...

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
It's pretty silly to assert that as a fact. I definitely prefer the old simplified Chinese to the Japanese. This kind of stuff is what makes this thread boring anyways, the whole, "Here's is the established norm for the "pimpest" deck" mentality. It's a lot more interesting when people build an identity for their deck with things that they like than when they just buy the Japanese foils because it makes them look cool. It pretty hard to get excited about any particular post when everything in here is always Japanese foils.
On that note, props to the WBG Loam poster a bit up the page. Glad to see someone who isn't afraid to enjoy pimping out a deck in non-foil.

Yeah, I agree. I think Russian is dethroning Japanese though in the "pimpest" type.
I don't like that Burning Wish/Polluted Delta because the text is so small it's hard to read. I prefer the newer font they use like on the Scalding Tarn... much easier to read. Also, I too prefer Simplified Chinese because I can't read Traditional Chinese characters very easily.
Anyone who wants to trade straight up English for Chinese because you think the latter is ugly, let me know.
-
Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
I really like the thickness of the characters on the old T-Chinese cards. They might be compact, but I think it looks absolutely awesome. I'm not the biggest fan of S-Chinese, but of all the Asian languages I dislike Korean the most. To the trained eye, Korean is the most bland-looking language

So, I guess that massive hint means you know Korean? Cool.
For those not in the know, Korean uses an alphabet similar to ours in its quantity (51 Jamo... kinda like letters), unlike Chinese, which has thousands of unique characters, and at the very least, more than a hundred "radicals" or character components. [/language geeking out]
It always shits me when people say "Asian" on like MOTL because they can't differentiate Japanese, Korean and Chinese. They're so dissimilar.

I'm actually Chinese, but I know some Japanese and a tiny bit of Korean. I'm not so much worried about legibility of the characters more than how cool the script looks on the card. But yes, that is why I say Korean looks bland - because it's just the same jamo re-arranged. That's just me though. It might look cool to someone else, but to me it lacks the visual and symbolic sophistication of other Asian languages (namely Chinese).
And yes, it also really bugs me when people can't tell the difference between the Asian languages.

Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks
I was wondering if anyone had an educated price guess on how much a FBB Undergound Sea should go. I need one (or maybe two) and all my other (three :( ) duals are FBB so I'd like to continue in this trend if possible. If anyone has any for sale they'd mail to Europe, they're also welcome to PM me.
I'm not rich though, I'm already expecting to settle for Unl.
