I believe it's several layers of very diluted acrylics and a colorless fixing layer... the surface is matte and smoothQuote:

On the BB alters: I got few duals and a set of BoPs done by the same alterer and I must also say that he's incredible. Cards are smooth, the borders are very precise and the alterer lays varnish over the borders, so they shouldn't wear... esp. in a permanent doublesleeve. At first I was hesitant to BB my stuff, as I was a bit afraid how it will end, but then the inconsitent borders annoyed me so much I finally decided to use his service... and I wasn't dissapointed!
