For once (in a long time) WotC unbanned a card that will actually affect Legacy.
I checked Starcity for Black Vises on a whim before the announcement. They were mostly sold out.
Now they are sold out.
And I believe the prices for Alpha and Beta just skyrocketed... Where they always $80 and $50 respectively?
Just checked my order history; I got a SP Beta Black Vise for $14.99 that shipped on 12/2/14.
Bonus points if the back up plan is vise + returning lands to player's hands with cards like Boomerang and Active Vocano.
...
I, for one, welcome our new prison overlords.
So happy with the Legacy and Vintage changes. Get fucked chalice for zero.
Interesting how much interst did this announcment bring to to the table. 123 users watching this thread currently
Take that DTT you OP piece of garbage!
Very curious to see how much play Black Vise gets...
Yeah, unfortunately the announcement derailed the thread from it's normal topic...
Guys, should Brainstorm be banned?
I'm very happy with the update! :)
They took my Chalice... Drat.
Personally, while I am thankful for change I wish they would just unban things without thos stupid Prisoner exchange program.
BTW guys, NASA is about to get make a big announcement. Time to clock watch that.
I think they're trying to hate it with the Black Vise unban. I doubt it will work, but it's worth giving the meta a while to shake out to see.
Step 1: ban DTT
Step 2: try out Painful Truths
Never thought in a million years that WOTC would do this so close to the GP. Ballsy!
This should put to rest the "Strategic Diversity" bullshit that the blue apologists in this thread have been spewing lately. As for Black Vise, sounds like it's time for some STASIS.Quote:
Over the past several months, the strategic diversity of Legacy has been diminished. Blue decks using Dig Through Time and various combo decks have occupied a greater portion of the metagame, pushing a lot of other decks out of the competitive scene. The problem is that other strategies tend to lose to the blue decks too frequently; they used to be more competitive, but now they fall behind when the blue decks reload for two mana using Dig Through Time. Dig Through Time is banned.
