Re: All B/R update speculation.
Yes, I think there will be a shift from Omnitell to Sneaky Show for sure.
Re: All B/R update speculation.
I'm not sure this is even good enough, but will Upheaval see any play with Vise? Seems expensive but cool...
Re: All B/R update speculation.
I pity those who planned the Seattle trip using Omni-tell. If you played at local GPT and you lost to Omni-tell yet you really want to go to that Legacy GP, considered yourself cheated.
Re: All B/R update speculation.
Nice ban and unban for Legacy.. i'm curious for what happend with grixis now.

It's not all that hard to convert UR Omnitell to Sneaky Show, and that deck is going to be pretty good most likely.
Re: All B/R update speculation.
Boooo I wish they didn't ban Dig Through Time
I have signed foil play set that I'll never get to use outside of standard now...

My thoughts as well - except the SnT player just can't win on the stack no matter what you have in your hand when playing Omni (vs Sneak and Show).
That was the really frustrating part about playing against DTT. It doesn't care about Ashen Rider or other hate cards, it would just dig on the stack and win regardless. So much less fun...
Banning was very deserved but I'm still slightly surprised. Either way, very happy with this change.

I don't feel that bad. Anybody rocking OmniTell had to have seen this ban coming. Shiet, anybody rocking DTT in general had to know. Didn't it feel dirty to resolve that card? It's Just Not Right.

"Unacceptable. The worst thing that could happen, in our eyes, would be for people to come back to Standard, full of hope and under the impression that Affinity was dead, only to lose to a weaker-but-still-potent Affinity deck in Round 1 of Regionals."
I miss this type of reasonable thinking and justification. Now they can't even be bothered to give the explanation its own article. Unless you're playing Elves and are directly impacted by the presence of OmniTell, there's nothing to get excited about. It'll be the same format you saw last week.

Do you mean Dig through time?
DTT was degenerate... there's no reason you should stare at multiple hate cards in your hand and have the OmniTell player just combo off with whatever you played on the stack. Such nonsense that I really will not miss at all (though, I do feel bad for those players who invested into DTT based decks, since obviously they won't be as strong going forward).
Re: All B/R update speculation.
As a Lands player, I am fairly fucking excited.
Re: All B/R update speculation.
I'm pretty excited to not have to play Slaughter Games as a janky answer to Omnitell anymore. My sideboard can finally go back to (somewhat) normal!

I see what you're saying, but it's anything but the same format. It has more in common with the format thirteen months ago than it does with the format thirteen days ago.

No... For example, non-blue GBx decks that proactively interact via discard were severely hampered by dig through times presence in the format in all sorts of decks.

As a Lands player, I'm actually not. Omni was easy postboard, Sneak will be harder especially considering they bring Blood Moon. However, as an "everything else I play" player, I'm pretty excited.

Nic-Fit, Jund, Rock, and Maverick were pet decks before Dig Through Time and they'll continue to be pet decks after it's gone.
And it's fine that they're pet decks. I fukken love pet decks. But it doesn't change the fact that they're hampered by far more than just Dig Through Time. If you're happy with such a superficial change, great, but don't be all bummed out when you run into the same walls as before.

All of those players still have a playable legacy deck, it is called omni-tell. It is tier 2 like a lot of legacy decks.
And I always considered myself cheated when I lost to DTT, GPT or no, so...
