I'll try, but I didn't take notes so I'm going off memory here (which is questionable at best).
So if I recall, on my turn 2 he was sitting with the
Tormod's Crypt in play, two dual lands and the unflipped
Delver of Secrets. I had
Gemstone Mine on the board, the yard was
Golgari Grave-Troll,
Stinkweed Imp,
Careful Study. For my draw, I dredged the
Golgari Grave-Troll. Then on my main phase I dropped
Lion's Eye Diamond, cast a
Faithless Looting, snapped the
Lion's Eye Diamond for 3 red (my favorite play) and dredged 2
Golgari Grave-Trolls.
Berg had no response at that point so I pushed on hoping to hit a Narcomoeba or something that might be useful. I used the 3 red to flash back the Faithless Looting, dredging the 2 Golgari Grave-Trolls again. Berg chose to pop the Tormod's Crypt in response to my draw/dredging of the 2 Golgari Grave-Trolls. So he stated that he would pop it after the dredge but before the discard resolved.
I think he played it pretty damn smart because it allowed him to remove my graveyard at a point where the 2
Golgari Grave-Trolls would be left in the yard for him to then
Surgical Extraction. Not thinking he would have both the
Tormod's Crypt and the
Surgical Extraction in his opening hand (or in hand by this point), I thought I was in a good spot ending up with the 2
Golgari Grave-Trolls in the yard at the end of all that. I felt like I could just start dredging again next turn and move on. Little did I know he had that much hate that quickly.
I'm open to any suggestions on what I did wrong here. Clearly I didn't do something right or I would have won the match. I like this deck but I know I need help for these situations. Keeping in mind that Berg is probably one of the most talented players in my meta and he plays a solid tier 1 deck, a double whammy.
