decan against dsck 1-1. great games.
A thrilling conclusion!
I'm assuming since you're posting here that you weren't able to just pick the game back up from where it left off. If you guys need me to meditate, I'll be home in a little bit.
Game on!
Also, after all that, it turns out they had everything correct from memory anyway. :V

decan beats me clear 2:0, lets see who wins it all :)
Thats correct. I win 2:0, you were kind of unlucky with your draws and i just had great draws.
Let's see now if dragonslayer crushes me again...
Whats the mode of the finals? Is it best of three or five? Also if i win contrary to expection, there will be another match, right?

It is "best two out of three/three out of five". No second match. Being the champion of the winner's bracket, Dragonslayer needs two wins to take it all. Being the champion of the loser's bracket, decan needs three wins to take it all.
Sorry for the bold, but I have to explain that a little bit and I want the final result to be clear. If anyone's been paying attention to the management of the bracket, they'll have noticed that the structure of the finals has been changed quite a few times. Reason being is that I can't actually report decan vs raid's score. I mean, at this point we don't really need to, but it'd be quite dandy to have a finished bracket. I've contacted the bracket host. Again. And hopefully they'll fix it unlike the last time and the time before that. In the meantime, the bracket will report that decan and raid have an unfinished best out of five and that the finals are a best of five followed by a best of one, when in reality decan murdered raid in a best of three and the finals is a best of five.
This is my long term chore for today. I don't have enough actual decklists to do much with, but I do at least have the archetypes of most of them and will share what decklists I do have in a pastebin or something.
Finals
Bracket Here
- The time has finally arrived.
- The match is "best of five". Being the champion of the winner's bracket, Dragonslayer needs two wins to take it all. Being the champion of the loser's bracket, decan needs three wins to take it all.
- For anyone who wants to spectate, the games are expected to be played on Sunday around 4pm. If that changes, I'll edit it here.
- Final standings and the respective deck choices are now posted in the OP where the deck codes once were. I'll be posting what decklists I have after I can get them all formatted and organized.
- Both players need to report results either in this thread or via private message.
Final Match-Up:
Dragonslayer_90 vs decan
I was playing an older version of Sylvan Plug. I was thinking that I will mostly play vs blue decks. I was wrong.

1 Deathrite Shaman
3 Obstinate Baloth
1 Reclamation Sage
1 Titania, Protector of Argoth
4 Green Sun's Zenith
4 Abrupt Decay
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Trinisphere
4 Choke
4 Sylvan Library
3 Ancient Tomb
3 Bayou
3 Forest
1 Misty Rainforest
1 Swamp
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Wasteland
2 Toxic Deluge
1 Savannah
2 Mox Diamond
1 Knight of the Reliquary
1 Karakas
1 Rolling Spoil
SB: 1 Gaddock Teeg
SB: 1 Giant Solifuge
SB: 1 Kalonian Hydra
SB: 1 Massacre
SB: 2 Qasali Pridemage
SB: 1 Scavenging Ooze
SB: 1 Stingerfling Spider
SB: 1 Toxic Deluge
SB: 2 Golgari Charm
SB: 3 Leyline of the Void
SB: 1 Spike Weaver
My rounds went like this:
1. 2-0 vs Reanimator
2. 1-2 vs Burn
3. 2-1 vs Elves
4. 2-0 vs Reanimator
5. 1-2 vs Burn
I managed to unlock some achievements:
1. Missing a trigger of my own Chalice of the Void.
2. Killing Griselbrand with Toxic Deluge and winning that game.
3. Making a combo of Spike Weaver + Kalonian Hydra.
Thank you iamajellydonut for making this tournament happen. I would try to be a part of the future ones.
:V
I talked to Dragonslayer and decan. For anyone who wants to tune in, their games are expected to be played Thursday around 4pm east coast time. If that changes, I'll post an update. Also, it's been established between the players that the decklists will not be distributed prior to the match.
We agreed on a change of the date.
The final will be Sunday 4 pm Eastern standard time or 10 pm central european time.
Here's the Burn list I was running, for the zero people who will be interested:
Lands: (19)
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Wooded Foothills
1 Scalding Tarn
9 Mountain
1 Barbarian Ring
Creatures: (10)
4 Goblin Guide
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
2 Grim Lavamancer
Non-Creature Spells: (31)
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
4 Rift Bolt
4 Lava Spike
4 Price of Progress
4 Searing Blaze
4 Fireblast
2 Sulfuric Vortex
1 Sensei's Divining Top
Sideboard: (15)
3 Relic of Progenitus
3 Smash to Smithereens
3 Vexing Shusher
2 Pyrostatic Pillar
1 Grim Lavamancer
1 Barbarian Ring
1 Sulfuric Vortex
1 Searing Blood
Most of my sideboard was unused, as I played against Strom variants 4 times. (Lost to mishima-kazuya and slosh, won against Noctalor and JamieW89. Got the walkover vs Michael Keller, which would have probably been favourable if he's on Painter.) MVP was obviously Pyrostatic Pillar and Eidolon of the Great Revel.
I'm at SCG Worcester. :(
Good luck, gents!
dragonslayer wins 2-1. well deserved winner!
ALL HAIL KING DRAGONSLAYER.
That actually has a pretty good ring to it.
Seriously though, grats to Dragonslayer. Work should be fairly uneventful, so I'll be PMing people and updating the final results more as the day goes by.
Congrats to Dragonslayer for winning it all :)
Congrats Dragonslayer! Thanks iamajellydonut for putting on the tourney. It was super fun. If anyone wants to do some testing on cockatrice just add me and we can play.
I've come up with a final prize-pool. I was hoping to get some alters done, but right before confirming the commission the alterist went silent. I was also hoping to throw in some obscure sealed product, but my initial target fell through and I wasn't able to achieve anything else at a reasonable rate. However, I was able to get what I consider to be a healthy prize variety going. I'm going to be private messaging the winners for selection in order. The remainder of the day is going to be spent on formatting the decklists and doing my actual job.
Prizes: (Winners to be messaged in order)
1*Force of Will
1*Scalding Tarn (German)
1*Dark Confidant (MMA)
1*Umezawa's Jitte
4*Deathrite Shaman
4*Dig Through Time
1*Wyrmwood Gaming Deck Box: White Ash or Cherry ("100ct" for double sleeves)
GP Lille playmat (Sensei's Divining Top)
GP New Jersey playmat (Brainstorm)
GP Providence playmat (Dark Confidant)
Eternal Weekend playmat (Deathrite Shaman)
p.s. Congrats again to those of you who tirelessly strive to prove exactly how mediocre the rest of us are.
Sweet prizes!
Can any of their opponents confirm what the following people were playing? With these last few we can at least paint a pretty good picture of the meta. Apologies if you sent info and I just skipped it.

If I recall correctly mishima_kazuya was on ant. Definitely a storm deck though.
Holo_rip was playing something with fetchlands. I think I killed him with Stifle so hard I don't even remember what deck it was. Total feelbad match.
I believe JamieW38 was playing storm. TPS I think because he warrens me g1.
