Through the Breach is a must in the SB big part why play the red splash. Very good in mirror and if they remove your SnT, can be use otherwise aswell ofc if u have cunning and Emrakul in your hand but no SnT.
What can Rending Volley do that Lightning Bolt dont take care of? No point with "cant be countered". Lightning Bolt can be good to finish up some games aswell, for example if u have attacked with emrakul using Through the Breach.

Yeah, last time against maverick I dropped an Omniscience while he had a Quasali Pridemage and mana open. I played Sudden Shock after and even watched him staring at his Mother of Ruins :P
Sounds like it could have been a play mistake first from you then from him. Is likely nothing to do with Sudden Shock.Quote:

I was mostly thinking as one-off sb. Then the split second dont matter. Anyway the problem is that the card often is not necessary, in your example u could have alot of combinations of cards that would win aswell or just emrakul maybe. And if u only have for example cunning wish, right play is to wait and pass the turn. Or ponder and dig/cunning just start off with ponder. If u find something just keep playing and if it was blank just pass the turn. That Sudden Shock could have been alot of other cards that would do the trick. I dont like sb in red removal spell against wasteland decks anyway, I wanna keep it Basic.Quote:
