While not exactly legacy playable, it confirms some quantities of hybrid mana which I found interesting.
And I wanted to make a thread 'cause I'm greedy like that.

Release is January 23, 2015 and the set contains 185 cards for those that don't know.

Yasova seems interesting. Repeated Threatens are nice, even if they're unlikely to grab Goyfs.

Might be too slow for Legacy, but who knows.

Finally I can build my monoblack dragon control deck!

I like Black Wraths. It's true that there probably isn't a good way to bank on the modal thing, but hey, another random WoG for broke chumps like me. (Y)

As for Threaten guy, hybrid mana is my favorite thing ever, so yay for that. The actual ability though is kind of a poopy Vedalken Shackles though, so I kinda feel like it's a non-starter across formats. Standard is pretty midrange-y and it doesn't get easier to play him any further back. I dunno.

So, hybrid mana is how they plan to make Fate Reforged work with both Khans and the third set in the block which - as WotC said - won't be in wedge theme.
I'm still wondering if the origins of the clans go back to allied or enemy color pairs. I tend to think allied colors but we will see.

The third set will be colorless like ROE. It represents the alternative outcome to Fate Reforged

Yeah it's kinda hard to say, I wonder if they even need wedge colors given the way they built the khans - centered on a color but implementing bits from the other two. At least from a design standpoint I think they did well; differentiating BUG from RUG could have been difficult given Red and Black's similarities, but focusing one around Black (Sultai) and one around Green (Temur) led to very different play between the two. So arguably 'mono Green Temur' could still jive with its ancestor by virtue of its existing execution.

I don't think there will be that many colorless cards in Fate Reforged and Dragons of Tarkir. Probably just Udin and 2-3 things associated with him like Ghostfire.
Most of the dragons will probably be colored, although I fear that some of them could be "Eldrazi-sized".

I wouldn't mind more colorless-themed stuff like Ghostfire Blade. My Ensoul Artifact deck in Standard could use them.

What do you expect? It's the usual kicker/counter/creatures only WitC usues for it's mechanics

Vanilla 10/10 for 7, just what Magic needed, thx wotc

To be fair, it can turn a Wirewood Symbiote into a 6/6 which seems amusing at least.

Just brainstorming any redeeming application of this mechanic (if any card with bolster has a decent mana cost): maybe something with Etched Oracle or Sage of Hours?

maybe but it'd have to be really good. and the card it worked with would also have to be very good, which is highly unlikely.

They'll probably find some use in standard UW heroic or whatever.

Unless you have some way to burn the +1/+1 or a horde of bodies to stack them on, it won't matter much. (Not to mention that a vanilla 10/10 beater is quite a threat on its own.)
