Probably worse than Sprite Dragon, but interesting at least, I guess, with Baubles.
Also, Clue themed cards?

It's part of a UB with literally the game of Clue, so yes. Clue themed (in more ways than one)

I expect writing of a similar exalted quality.
Will Colonel Mustard be a Legendary Human Soldier?
If they print a good version of Tim Curry I might actually be tempted to get back into EDH
Been spoiled and yes, but he switched to the navy so it's Commander now

Commander Mustard
Legendary Creature Human Soldier
5/5
Vigilance
Other Soldiers you control have vigilance, trample, haste
2RW: Until end of turn, Soldiers you control gain "whenever this creature attacks, it deals 1 damage to defending player"
Doesn't that Drake actually work best with Arcbound Ravager in an affinity shell, where you're basically doubling the number of +1/+1 counters and getting a flyer for Plating? Plus it counts as 2 mana for Affinity thanks to the Clue.
EDIT: i mean, turn 1 you drop land/springleaf/ornithopter/metal mox, play this and a frogmite or enforcer, turn 2 drop a ravager do some dumb affinity shit and swing for lethal, right?
Yeah, most probably. I just wanted to get the ball rolling on a thread, so I didn't really give it much thought.
Issues of course are that there this Drake doesn't have haste or a protection ability. Might be funny to mess around with Ravager and it though. But it's been a long time since I've seen Ravager in Legacy.
Not really? Springleaf Drum, metalcraft mox, bunch of stuff i'm forgetting since i've never really been an affitity player, but i don't remember that deck ever really having trouble with colored mana, i'm sure its built way differently now in legacy, but if you reverted to an older style build for the mana i don't see it as that much of a problem tbh.
EDIT: Mox Opal, Seat of the Synod, Great Furnace, Springleaf Drum, Lotus Petal, that's 16 sources of each color right there.
Maybe build like:
4x Arcbound Ravager
4x Ornithopter
4x Gleaming Drake
4x Frogmite
4x Thought Monitor
1x Retrofitter Foundry
4x Thoughtcast
4x Galvanic Blast
3x Shrapnel Blast
4x Springleaf Drum
4x Mox Opal
4x Great Furnace
4x Seat of the Synod
4x Urza's Saga
And then you've still got 8 slots left for whatever else you want, like Platings or Tombs or Needles or Petals or something. This also mgiht be a deck where you'd want disciple of the vault
It doesn't really do anything without sac outlet or something the deck can't do already so I don't see why it's worth considering.
The only way I think this could see play if it wasn't an artifact so it doesn't crap out to Meltdown or Boseiju.
.
Instead of old Affinity tech, I would look to new artifacts tech.
8 Baubles are 0 cmc artifacts that "sacrifice" and cycle for free
Sai Master Thopterist makes extra artifacts to sacrifice
4 Lotus Petal
4 Mox Opal
4 Mishra's Bauble
4 Urza's Bauble
4 Thoughtcast
4 Thought Monitor
2 Sai, Master Thopterist
3 Emry, Lurker of the Loch
3 Kappa Cannoneer
4 Gleaming Geardrake
4 Urza's Saga
There's probably a deck there somewhere.
The positives of Geardrake are:
+2 artifacts on 1 card (good for any ability that counts artifacts e.g. Affinity, Constructs, Improvise)
+1/+1 every time you cycle a Bauble (free), use Lotus Petal/extra Mox for mana (free), or recur them with Emry
Good synergy with Sai, which makes another free artifact per Bauble and has a clue-like draw
Replaces itself, albeit slowly
Pitches to FoW
Is that enough to make it into 8-cast? Don't know. But it has potential as another growing evasive threat like Kappa.
The clear comparison is Patchwork Automaton, which does see play. Drake flies, pitches to fow, and comes with extra permanents/ca vs the tempo of ward and ancient tomb synergy.
I think it’s close enough to be comparable.
Illusionary mask is back, baybe!

I see face-down creatures needed the help not dying as fast
I'd figure Scroll of Fate or some wild Chrome Host Seedshark build is more likely over Illusionary Mask itself, but anything to get me to resleeve the Dreadnoughts

This seems good for the cost
Winmore. Two flips is already 15 dmg, then they have to deal with Bolt, a 3/2, and a 12/12 trample.
Never forget that the fastest action in magic is a mana ability, and the second fastest is turning dudes face up. If we were looking for a reset to face-down card, it would need to have split second, as we operate above split second speed. Trying to play a card like Expose the Culprit is about as competitive as using enchant creatures vs removal.
And Dress Down does the thing while drawing a card, with ability to cripple an opponent's play. Also it's blue.
At a bare minimum (if it could target non-disguise), it would need to retrospectively add a ward trigger. The modes don't allow it to do this. So it's a very elaborate protection scheme which increases mulligans b/c Otawara is a land, and while going up on mana security and down on mulligans, I can loop my guy to hand and back to play with Scroll.
When you commit cards as tricks to cost opponent 1 card in hand (the removal spell, played proactively), you have to justify why you're up on jank, up on mulls, down on mana security, and down on proactive interaction/disruption.
My first thoughts were D&T, since outside of maybe Flickerwisp every creature is castable so it's just a +1 card in hand.
Also heard others mention Orcish Bowmaster, maybe even with Volrath's Stronghold or something.
Then the most magic christmasland answer was cast Assemble the Players into Predict into Snapcaster Mage off the top of the library into Predict again.
Is Goblin Recruiter finally unbanned yet?
Edit: Dwarves can cast free changelings with Dwarven Recruiter piles, but Realmwalker already does better.
Actually Assemble is pretty terrible compared to Realmwalker unless you're mono W and spread across many tribes (D&T).

Seems interesting enough. Double SFM, Recruiter, Skyclave triggers, does some stupid shit with Charming Prince as well.
Edit: This looks pretty hilarious in Soul Sisters since it quadruples your grow triggers - twice the lifegain and twice the grow triggers.
T1: Soul Sister
T2: Voice of the Blessed (3/3) or Karlov of the Ghost Council (4/4)
T3: Delney, swing - Voice would be a 7/7 vigiliance flyer, Karlov would be a 12/12.
Throw in some T1 Aether Vials to speed up things even more. With another Soul Sister or Bowmasters vialed in on T3, Karlov could become a swinging 22/22 and Voice a 11/11 vigiliance flyer. Not saying this would be Legacy-viable, but the amount of power it could generate in a short time should be noteworthy.
Probably a decent Collected Company hit with anything that has ETB triggers too, and works with a lot of the 'humans' deck like Kitesail Freebooter and Thalia's Lieutenant. Does it work with death triggers like Veteran Explorer?
They're really trying to make Meekstone tribal a thing.
Soul Sisters grow doesn't work because the trigger is only doubled for creatures with power 2 or less (not cmc 2 or less). Karlov/Voice won't double. Only the Soul trigger doubles.
But if you cast Bowmasters after, you ping 2 & amass 2. Then 4 Soul Sister triggers & 8 Karlov counters. If you had a way to remove the 1/1 army in between Bowmaster triggers, then 6 Soul Sister triggers & 12 Karlov counters.
Esper Sentinel lol...
Recruiter of the Guard lol
Militia Bugler/Enlistment Officer lol
Charming Prince, flicker 2 creatures, both double trigger
Mono white Ancestral Recall stompy
Edit: Preeminent Captain attacks with pseudo-evasion, playing for free Recruiter of the Guard (double trigger: tutor Enlistment Officer + Charming Prince) and Enlistment Officer (draw all Soldiers from top 8). Postcombat Charming Prince flickering Recruiter & Officer -> run out of creatures in library, discard to hand size, go.
Can go from Delney + Captain + 1 card in hand to 10+ creatures in hand.
Actually I'm a little surprised they don't also get a +1/+1 counter
That's actually pretty cool and can be used as early as T2 if you play out Preeminent Captain on T1 with acceleration (at least the combat triggers, not the follow up). It doesn't necessarily have to be Officer - it could also be Thalia, GoT to disrupt combo or Palace Jailer to clear the way and get Monarch. That's powerful and quite flexible.
The problem I can see with that strategy is that you don't really want to run too many pumpers due to anti-synergy with Delney, making you more vulnerable to sweepers and opposing fatties (although the latter could be solved by running more exiling type creatures).
Edit: Nevermind, opposing fatties can't block the weenies due to the second ability of Delney.
They save it up for later when we get Megadisguise.
True. You end up playing a bunch of 2/x dorks and few lords (if any) to maximize Delney, like in the Soldier Stompy list I posted in the other thread.
Delney at least gives them "evasion". Captain is very hard to block: 2/2s die to first strike and 3/3s can't block.
But without Delney it's just a bunch of dorks smaller than Delver's 1 cmcs.
To offset that the deck needs to be high in removal. 4 Solitude and some March of Otherworldly Light can convert that extra card draw into tempo+removal to stay ahead on board when needed. Palace Jailer & Skyclave Apparition are great too, tutorable with Recruiter and doubling up with Delney.
There should be some viable deck there. Delney has so much synergy with good triggered abilities you already want to play.
