[Format] BSN - Black Summer Nostalgia
Re: [Format] BSN - Black Summer Nostalgia
Decks to beat
I. NECRO
18 Swamp
1 Strip Mine
1 Lake of the Dead
2 Ebon Stronghold
4 Dark Ritual
4 Knight of Stromgald
4 Yotian Soldier
4 Hypnotic Specter
1 Ihsan's Shade
4 Necropotence
2 Terror
3 Drain Life
1 Mind Twist
4 Hymn to Tourach
1 Zuran Orb
1 Ivory Tower
2 The Rack
1 Winter Orb
2 Nevinyrral's Disk
Sideboard:
2 Terror
3 Dystopia
2 Raise Dead
3 Serrated Arrows
1 Winter Orb
4 Paralyze
Necro deck is The King of the BSN format: the most feared and most hated.
This version uses Yotian Soldiers instead of the second set of pump-knights to fight Stasis deck, slow down Sligh deck (both see bellow), and to stop green Dervishes.
II. TURBO STASIS
13 Island
4 City of Brass
4 Underground River
4 Adarkar Wastes
1 Land Tax
4 Stasis
2 Kismet
4 Howling Mine
3 Despotic Scepter
1 Ivory Tower
1 Feldon's Cane
1 Zuran Orb
4 Lim-Dul's Vault
4 Force of Will
4 Arcane Denial
4 Boomerang
2 Recall
Sideboard:
4 Hydroblast
4 Mahamoti Djinn
1 Black Vise
2 Circle of Protection: Red
4 Control Magic
The most unpleasant deck in the BSN format to play against. Hard mana-lock. Games usually last very long, until the opponent runs out of library. This may change after SB, when opponent sides out kill spells, because Stasis can side in fatties, but usually draw by time expiration in the 2nd game is sufficient to win the match. This deck beats the Necro (unless Necro gets lucky with early Hymns), but desperately loses to The Prison deck. Also red Sligh sometimes outruns this and then may use Pyroblasts and Shatters from SB to break the lock.
III. THE PRISON
16 Plains
2 Kjeldoran Outpost
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Strip Mine
2 Thawing Glaciers
1 Serra Angel
1 Triskelion
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Disenchant
4 Wrath of God
1 Balance
3 Armageddon
4 Fellwar Stone
4 Winter Orb
4 Icy Manipulator
2 Millstone
1 Feldon's Cane
1 Zuran Orb
1 Ivory Tower
1 Black Vise
Sideboard:
2 Karma
1 Circle of Protection: Black
2 Circle of Protection: Red
2 Circle of Protection: Green
2 Divine Offering
3 Serra Angel
3 Serrated Arrows
This deck is designed to beat Turbo Stasis on its own field, while being tough opponent to others, including Necro deck.
IV. GEEBA SLIGH
16 Mountain
2 Dwarven Hold
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Strip Mine
2 Brass Man
2 Gorilla Shaman
4 Goblin Balloon Brigade
2 Dwarven Soldier
2 Orcish Librarian
4 Ironclaw Orcs
4 Orcish Artillery
2 Dragon Whelp
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Incinerate
2 Fireball
1 Detonate
1 Pillage
1 Black Vise
2 Manabarbs
Sideboard:
4 Pyroblast
2 Anarchy
2 Manabarbs
4 Shatter
3 Meekstone
The cheapest one from the top5, but fastest and surprisingly effective. Can beat all decks above, but has problems with fatties (Erhnamgeddon). Once the Manabarbs resolves, the game is usually over.
V. ERHNAMGEDDON
8 Forest
8 Plains
4 Brushland
1 Strip Mine
2 Thawing Glaciers
4 Fyndhorn Elves
2 Llanowar Elves
2 Whirling Dervish
4 Erhnam Djinn
2 Serra Angel
2 Triskelion
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Disenchant
4 Armageddon
1 Land Tax
3 Sylvan Library
3 Lodestone Bauble
1 Zuran Orb
1 Ivory Tower
1 Serrated Arrows
Sideboard:
3 Wrath of God
2 Whirling Dervish
1 Disenchant
4 Scavenger Folk
2 Hurricane
1 Library of Leng
2 Circle of Protection: Red
This deck destroys opponent's strategy by eliminating lands after putting a fatty into play. It has problems vs Necro and Stasis, but beats Sligh and with careful play should beat The Prison deck.

Shouldnt it be the Dark instead of Antiquities to play with chronological editions?
Re: [Format] BSN - Black Summer Nostalgia
Announcement:
It goes without saying that Crusade and Pradesh Gypsies remain legal in the BSN format. It is OK to play BSN games with these cards in public places.
Warning: Rebuking or harrassing players for using these cards is considered bad behaviour and may result in game loss and/or expelling the offender out.
Storm Crow has been added to unofficial watchlist. The card is both too broken and can be associated with "Jim Crow laws".
