    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Just loop Pia and Kiran Nalaars with Karakas until your opponent concedes. On a similar note, Brimaz isnt bad vs Czech Pile but is still much worse than P+K.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Treat the match up like how you would play vs Shardless BUG and just try and leverage your own mana advantage. Its close and grindy, and Wastelanding them will hurt you more than it will hurt them....

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

If you think about having a maindeck Canonist vs, say, a Sneak and Show deck, the Canonist is infinitely worse than the Spirit.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Its also a 3rd Ethersworn Canonist pre-boarded in the maindeck. Except instead of being an Arcane Lab effect (except in the case vs Elves), it just makes virtual card advantage instead. Its also run...

    Re: [DTB] UWx Miracle Control

To be fair, if it hadn't been for the Hatfields and their love for Portent and going deep on the Turbo Xerox idea, I doubt we would have found Portent as a way to revitalize the archetype. Also, we...

    Re: [DTB] UWx Miracle Control

I have only been playing against it with maindeck Mentors, so I guess the short answer is answer CotV whenever possible and a willingness to at least 2-for-1 yourself when removing a threat thanks to...

    Re: [DTB] UWx Miracle Control

Could always play Esper Miracles with a regular UW Maindeck and proceed to bring in a slew of discard spells vs any unfair deck after board. Also you get access to SB cards like Engineered Plague as...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I would also like to point out that sometimes you just end up with Basic Plains, played mediocre creatures and lose because none of the lands you drew were interactive. It definitely goes both ways...

ItsUnfair and Anzi104 are the streamers to look into.

I would say practice makes perfect. Don't automatically piegonhole yourself as dumb and just play a lot.

Not to mention snap keeping the Karakas + Port hands anyway, get Wastelanded and pray that your next topdeck will be another white source.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Has anybody been playing Enevoldesen's Ancient Tomb list lately? I just want to know what common problems people have been dealing with. Also, stuff like whether Containment Priest and/or Eldrazi...

    Re: Miracle Control

Its easy to understand why we don't bring in Blood Moons vs Delver is because they have two 2-for-1s at most in their maindeck and our whole deck is 2-for-1s.

I still like having a card or two...

    Re: Miracle Control

Monored Stompy hasnt been too bad for me. Try and delay Chalice for 1 and keep the board empty of creature threats so that you can hold onto the board a JTMS. From there it should be fine. Also...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

It is usually common practice to board down to 2x Moms vs fair decks that use Black mana, only to avoid getting yourself 2-for-1ed too often.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

As a player of both the new Miracles and Death & Taxes, I will say that the best card vs the Miracles deck is a modest Sanctum Prelate for 1. Palace Jailer is fine, but swingy. The new Miracles is on...

At risk of sounding stupid (and possibly outdated), but I have always felt that the power level of Portent was that of Preordain unless it is evaluated in either the context of Storm of all varieties...

    Re: Miracle Control

My initial build had a 1/1 split of EE and CJ. Somehow UA ended up being better vs decks like Merfolk, DnT and other slew of fair decks and the fact that it is an Instant ended up making deck feel...

Will vouch that Eetai is best authority when it comes to working on Recruiter Taxes builds. He helped me when I was still working on mine awhile back.

Playing Counterbalance and rejecting it in-game play was made possible because of the presence of a highly powerful library manipulation suite (mostly SDT).

The idea is that if a silver bullet makes it so that your opponent doesnt get to play Magic and that we dont lose as long as the silver bullet is in play, we can afford that symmetrical effect. Think...
