At a guess it's the bad draws where he had no hope. That's the only significant weakness of D&T in a meta where the best lists avoid bad draws. It's the reason D&T bounces in and out of the DTB...

I've been doing a lot of work with Vial lately and I've become very leery of the reactive uses of it. Putting even 3 or 4 total creatures in a deck that are going to be best used at instant speed...
