Makes sense, but I think there is a better alternative to circumvent the problem you mentioned: running 4 Elvish Reclaimer alongside 4 Once Upon A Time.
Because I also think a...
Thanks for sharing, interesting reading.
But I have to say I disagree with one of your statement:
"So yes, in Turbo Depths [Once Upon a Time] is not bad, but also not better than the existing cards...
Well, I also feel like now is the time to paly the original Turbo list (and not the "Slow Depths" list), which I did. A few things:
1) I am also very curious to hear about the return from Not...
I personally always lack some time to play MtG in general and to test new stuff, so I am not the right person to say it ... but ... in this case maybe you should just grab his list and test it by...
Wow, that looks sweet!
Could you maybe tell us more about the up- and downsides of this list in comparison to our "classic" lists?
This looks like a Aggro-Combo-ish list or something. I like...
Could you please tell us in which other match-up do you board Flusterstom in? And in particular, what do you usually cut for it? I guess Miracle, Combos... what about Delver?
This is true indeed. But you're also playing only 1 Wasteland in your 75, so there isn't much wombo with Needle (very often naming wasteland) and one-of wasteland.
But indeed, your list includes...
I think the paradigm is not completely exposed here, because of the correlation between needle, wasteland and mox:
1) If you choose to play a list with Mox, is it safe to say that you'd better...
There is a lot of things to say about David Long's list.
1) it's a more grindy version indeed, with 4 Dark confident + 1 Sylvan MD, 4 Abrupt Decay MD and 4 Mox Diamond as accelerant.
2) he plays...
Don't forget we're playing a combo deck, and we have to kill the opponent before he kills us (pretty obvious, i know^^). If you're mid-combo, and the former thespian's stage now D.Depths without...
One thing is sure: all our lists should include some basics now that assassin's trophy exists.
(And for those who are still on the submerge-proof plan... Are you really encountering enough...
For Turbo / Slow Depths, the print of this card seems like a double-edged sword to me. Let's hope that this will help us more than harm us.
That being said, we have a lots of changes in the meta...
Thanks for sharing.
I'd have some questions though:
1/ Don't you miss Dread of Night against DnT?
2/ Could you please give us your in and out strategies? That would be very interesting!
...
Congratz! Could you tell us what crazy hands you had to beat TES 2-0 without dedicated hate in the SB? Did you bother side the golgari charms and/or deluge in or did you just tried (and succeded) to...
I wouldn't go under 8 discard spell. We need not only the protection but also the information so hard!
Thanks, I missed that. GG to DNSolver!
Yeah, it's interesting that he prefers the 3rd expedition map over the 4th ESG.
Maybe it's because I am not a huge fan of Map, but am I the only one to...
1) I really think that Ground Seal MD is not optimal: it's a good sideboard card, but that's it in this meta. Yes, it hits Snapcaster Mage, and it's a good card against reanimator and land pre-side....
I would certainly cut either Mirsha or Dryad befor the 4th Needle. And if you really don't use the Deluge, maybe one more discard card coule do it? It's never wrong against combo decks.
Envoyé de...
Man, thank you a lot for this very precise and nice report!
It is really nice to have access to such material, especially when it's so well summed up.
Side question: if I understood your...
Ahhh, right, thanks. I was too lazy to go search for the name. Have you some links to the podcast interviews or the reddit posts please?
Well... @Negator77, big gg! I think we all would be really...
This list just won the SCG Philadelphia:
4 Vampire Hexmage
2 Bayou
1 Bojuka Bog
2 Gemstone Mine
3 Misty Rainforest
4 ...
True, but at the same time, decks running Stifle (mainly Canadian Threshold) will also play Daze and Spell Pierce, so instant fast mana can be handy in the matchup, no?
Seems that the "Slow Depths" list is in a bad spot without DRS, isn't it?
I'm glad I had already decided to go back to the pure combo-list.
So, you guys seems to bring ni Karakas against D&T. What are your in / out for the matchup?
I go for:
-8 fast mana
+1 Needle
+2 Sylvan
+3 Abrupt
+1 Krosan Grip
+1 Surgical --> I like that...
