    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Only if you don't have Aether Vial. Aether Vial on 3 plus Mangara plus Karakas is good times. Also, this deck ends up playing the control role more often than the beatdown and has a good late game...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

If you are worried about combo decks (Elves, Tendrils), why not just run Ethersworn Canonist? He shuts down those decks as well as Chalice, can be protected by Mom, and can pick up equipment and...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Looking at the D&T lists that made top eight and won at the Grand Prix, I'm struck by the inclusions of Mirran Crusader and Aven Mindcensor and the omissions of Thalia and Serra Avenger. Crusader...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

When on the play for g2/3, keeping Spell Pierce in the deck is probably the right call against D&T because it counters an early Aether Vial. When on the draw, however, it should definitely be...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Land Tax is a card to build a deck around, not just to throw into a deck. A Land Tax player will probably want to run Scroll Rack and Enlightened Tutor. I don't see how D&T can give that many slots...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

To beat Elves, you have to have couple Swords to Plowshares in your opening hand and be able to get a Jitte online really fast. In other words, you need to get lucky or it's going to be a blowout...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

To be more specific on what I said earlier, a step/phase/turn does not end until both players consecutively pass priority with an empty stack. If a Player A passes priority during the end step, but...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

A step, phase, or turn does not end until both players have consecutively passed priority. If one player vials in a creature at the end of the turn, the other player will have an opportunity to do...

No, you cannot. Mangara will come back sick when it is blinked.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I had read your article before SCG and thought of it when I saw the Fisher list from Indy. I didn't know that you worked with him on the deck. I know you must feel great about the results. Nice...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I'm not too sure about the sideboard, but here is my list. I don't think that Leonin Arbiter or Aven Mindcensor make the cut anymore in a post-Survival Legacy. For me, the MVP of the deck is...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Just because Leonin Arbiter may make the cut in D&T, it doesn't mean that you should run cards like Path to Exile or Ghost Quarter. You've only got four Arbiter and you will only draw one half the...

That's what Mother of Runes is for, right?

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I've also exchanged Isamaru for Mother of Runes. The hound is pretty terrible now that combat damage no longer uses the stack. Of course, one might say the same thing about D&T in general.
